It's 1940 and the ever-worsening Nazi tyranny in Germany has convinced a young Jewish couple that they must escape to Palestine. Deceived by a childhood friend into going on a ship marked for destruction, Jacob and Rivka-who is pregnant with the couple's first child-become separated and neither boards the ship. Now hopelessly lost in a foreign land, could they possibly be reunited?
In God's Scattered Children, author David Krewson, takes the reader from Nazi Germany, through war torn France and Italy, and on to the turmoil of Israel's fight for independence before ending up in the relative tranquility of smalltown Indiana.
