TuneIn and Spaceland Presents Partner To Live Stream
Performances from The Echo, Echoplex, and The Regent Theater
Spaceland Radio on TuneIn Will Allow Users Worldwide to Listen Live to Some of Los Angeles’ Best Concerts
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (July 7, 2015) — TuneIn, the world’s largest audio network, and Spaceland Presents, one of the premier independent club and event companies whose résumé includes early shows by the White Stripes and Arctic Monkeys, today announced a partnership to create an exclusive radio station available on TuneIn – Spaceland Radio.
Spaceland Radio on TuneIn will give music fans worldwide the ability to listen to live concerts from top LA venues: The Echo, Echoplex, and The Regent Theater. Spaceland Radio launched two months ago with its first live stream, featuring Jose Gonzalez and opener Olof Arnalds, live from The Regent Theater in Downtown LA, followed by a live stream featuring L7 at the Echo in May, the group’s first live concert in over 14 years.
Upcoming live shows on Spaceland Radio include tonight’s live performance from Calexico and Villagers live from the Regent Theater, Tokyo Police Club on September 12th, FIDLAR on October 30th, and Of Montreal on November 4th. To listen to these performances and others TBA, download the free TuneIn app or visit TuneIn.com and search for Spaceland Radio.
The Spaceland Radio station is the brainchild of club owner, LA music promoter and industry icon, Mitchell Frank who has personally curated the station with songs new and old from artists who have performed at Spaceland venues. Frank says, “Spaceland's partnership with TuneIn couldn't be more synergistic to what I love to do, find new emerging artists and give them a platform to build their fanbase. TuneIn's platform is a powerful way to reach music lovers despite location or device, if you are sunning in Brazil, shopping in Tokyo or sitting in traffic on the 405, Spaceland Radio can be your conduit for new music and discovery. I am thrilled to have all the bands who have cut their teeth with Spaceland & The Echo both past and present streaming all in one place."
“We couldn't be more excited to be featuring these live shows exclusively on TuneIn,” said Summer Watson, VP of Content at TuneIn. “We aim to encourage music discovery for our listeners, and Spaceland is known for introducing some of the biggest indie bands in the music industry. By partnering together, we are taking these incredible, local shows and making them available for everyone to hear.”
The Echo and Echoplex were voted as the top music venues in Los Angeles by Filter Magazine, as these venues are known for their adventurous booking policy that embraces talent from around the world and down the block. TuneIn has live streamed countless live performances, from Outside Lands in San Francisco, to Stagecoach in Indio, to the New Orleans Jazz Fest, and strives to bring the best live experiences to it’s over 50M global monthly users.
