Survey of Teen Drug Use Released
The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) released its revised 2012 survey, "Monitoring the Future," which questioned 46,733 students in the 8th, 10th and 12th grades about their drug use. For the first time, the survey also includes "bath salts," a type of designer drug with amphetamine-like effects. Nora Volkow, NIDA Director, led the press conference.

The report projects a $1.1 trillion federal budget deficit for FY 2012, or a 7 percent drop from last year. However, it also projects unemployment to rise to 8.9 percent in 2012.
