New Zealand have replaced injured all-rounder Andrew Ellis with fast bowler Doug Bracewell in their 15-man squad for the ICC Champions Trophy. Former South African international fast bowler Monde Zondeki has been forced to retire from all cricket due to persistent back injuries. Pay Rise For Contracted Pakistan Cricketers
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has awarded 30 players central contracts and given its contracated players a pay rise of 15% with match fees also increased. Misbah-ul-Haq, Mohammad Hafeez, Saeed Ajmal, Younus Khan and Shahid Afridi are the five players awarded Grade A contracts with eight players given Grade B contracts, eight more Grade C and the remaining nine stipend contracts.

Australia Name Champions Trophy 2013 Squad
Australia have named their 15-man squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 where they will be defending the titles they won in both 2006 and 2009. George Bailey has been named as the vice-captain to Michael Clarke after Shane Watson stood down as vice-captain last month.

Pakistan have named their 15-man squad for the forthcoming ICC Champions Trophy, which will be held in England this June. Shahid Afridi's axing is the big news, although Umar Akmal and Younus Khan have also been dropped from the team that narrowly lost a five-match series in South Africa in March.

Rohit Sharma was at his fluent best as Mumbai Indians continued their Indian Premier League 2013 revival by recording a four-run win over Kings XI Punjab. After Kings XI were bowled out for 170 in pursuit of 175 to win, it meant they followed up a brace of wins with a brace of defeats, a trend they will seek to reverse as soon as possible.

County Cricket Round-Up - 29th April
Round four of the LV= County Championship began today with matches at Trent Bridge, Headingley and Chelmsford. Chesney Hughes was the day's star performer - the Anguilla-born all-rounder hitting a career-best 171 on his return to the Derbyshire side. Elsewhere there were runs for James Taylor and Steven Mullaney and wickets for David Masters and Reece Topley.

Test Series Drawn As Bangladesh Wrap Up Win
A spirited century from Hamilton Masakadza wasn't able to prevent Bangladesh from squaring the Test series against Zimbabwe on the final day in Harare. Ziaur Rahman took two of the wickets to fall during the day, with Shakib Al Hasan, Mohammad Ashraful, Sohag Gazi and Robiul Islam taking one each.

IPL 2013: Royals Maintain Unbeaten Home Run
Rajasthan Royals continued their unbeaten run at home with a fine four-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore, at Jaipur. The Royals now have twelve points from nine games and are placed third in the 2013 IPL points table. The other Royals, the Challengers from Bangalore, meanwhile have lost their second game on the bounce and are now feeling vulnerable in second spot, also with twelve points but from ten games played.

IPL 2013: Warner Fifty Inspires Daredevils
Delhi Daredevils registered their second win of the 2013 IPL season, beating Pune Warriors by 15 runs at their new home in Raipur. This win lifts Delhi off the last spot into eighth, with four points from nine games, mathematically keeping their chances alive and relegates Pune to the bottom of the points table with as many points.

Bangladesh Close In On Series-Levelling Victory
Zimbabwe face an uphill battle to preserve their one-nil series advantage over Bangladesh heading into the final day of the second Test in Harare. They reached stumps on day four on 138 for four after being set an imposing 401 for victory. Hamilton Masakadza appears key to their hopes of salvaging at least a draw tomorrow and is unbeaten with 46, with his younger brother, Shingi, who joined him as night-watchman, unbeaten on seven.

Chris Morris held his nerve in the last over of the match to bowl Chennai Super Kings to a 14-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders at home. This was Chennai's fifth win on the trot this Indian Premier League 2013 season and elevates them to the top of the points table, with 14 from nine games. For defending champions Kolkata, this was their sixth loss in nine matches, leaving them third from bottom with just six points.

IPL 2013: Mumbai Roar Back Into Contention
Mumbai Indians roared back into Indian Premier League 2013 contention with a second successive win, this time at home, when they beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by a comfortable margin of 58 runs at the Wankhede Stadium. This win took Mumbai into the top four, with 10 points from eight games, pushing Sunrisers Hyderabad down to fifth (also with 10 points after their loss earlier in the day). Bangalore remain top with 12 points from nine games, but their run-rate took a beating.

Yorkshire made the fourth highest run chase in their 150-year history on the final day in Chester-le-Street to beat Durham by four wickets. After an arguably generous declaration by Durham captain Paul Collingwood yesterday left them needing to score 319 on day four, Joe Root stepped up with a magnificent 182 to guide them home. Elsewhere, there were wins for Northamptonshire, Hampshire and Nottinghamshire.

Bangladesh Enjoy Another Good Day In Harare
Bangladesh closed day three of the second and final Test against Zimbabwe in Harare 272 runs ahead with five second-innings wickets remaining after another good day for the tourists. Robiul Islam finished with five for 85 as Zimbabwe were dismissed for 282, well short of Bangladesh's score of 391, and they went on to close on 163 for five in their second innings.

In a contest between the two suprise packages in the top four of the Indian Premier League 2013 points table, Rajasthan Royals beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets at Jaipur. This result means that both of them are now on 10 points each, although Rajasthan have one game in hand and are up to third spot just ahead of Hyderabad.

Reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders won their first Indian Premier League 2013 match in four as Manvinder Bisla anchored a six-wicket victory over Kings XI Punjab. Bisla was unbeaten on 51 as they overhauled Kings XI's score of 149 for six with 10 balls to spare, hauling themselves up to within two points of their defeated opponents with eight matches played.

The race for the title remains closely-contested at this early point in the season. Second-placed Warwickshire endured a day to forget at Taunton, while Sussex and Nottinghamshire did their hopes no harm with good displays against Surrey and Derbyshire. Kaneria Loses Appeal Against Lifetime Ban
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed that a Cricket Discipline Commission has dismissed Danish Kaneria's appeal against being found guilty of two corruption charges in 2012. Kaneria was found guilty in June 2012 and banned for life by the ECB for two breaches of its Anti-Corruption code relating to a match in 2009.

Australian fast bowler Ryan Harris is to return home from the Indian Premier League due to an Achilles injury but cricket Australia are optimistic he will be fit in time for the Ashes. He has also been named in the Australia 'A' squad which will also tour the British Isles to play a number of three-day games ahead of the Ashes.

A wonderful unbeaten half-century from captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni drove Chennai Super Kings to a five-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad that extended their winning streak to four in a row. Sunrisers, the tournament's biggest surprise package, pushed the two-time champions hard but were finally beaten when Dhoni smashed 14 runs in three balls to see his side past their score of 159 for six with two balls remaining.

Knee Injury Rules Pietersen Out Of Champions Trophy
England batsman Kevin Pietersen has suffered a further injury setback with the news that his knee injury will keep him out of the Champions Trophy as well as the New Zealand Test series. Having left the tour of New Zealand in March early, he was quickly sidelined for the Indian Premier League and the May Tests but this latest news means he will not return to action until the middle of June - too late for him to play in the Champions Trophy.

Duminy, Du Plessis Recovering Well From Injuries
South African batsmen JP Duminy and Faf du Plessis are both on track with their respective rehabilitation programmes from achilles tendon and back injuries. Duminy underwent surgery five months ago and is still on target to return to action in late May while du Plessis could be available for Chennai Super Kings as early as next week.

Bangladesh fast bowler Mashrafe Mortaza has been ruled out of the forthcoming One-Day International series against Zimbabwe after failing to recover from a foot injury. He has a fat pad contusion of his left heel, an injury he suffered during the Bangladesh Premier League in February.

Rogers In Australia Ashes Squad, Haddin Vice-Captain
Australia have named opener Chris Rogers in their 16-man Ashes squad and installed wicket-keeper Brad Haddin as Michael Clarke's vice-captain. 35-year-old Rogers played a solitary Test in 2008 but adds experience of English conditions to a squad that is largely inexperienced at international level - only captain Michael Clarke has played more than 44 Tests.

Chris Gayle smashed a new world record Twenty20 score of 175 not out to propel Royal Challengers Bangalore to a world leading score of 263 for five and a 130-run win over Pune Warriors in Bangalore. Gayle's fourth IPL century saw him surpass Brendon McCullum's long-standing record of 158 and included 17 sixes - another record - as Bangalore returned to the top of the Indian Premier League 2013 table when Pune could only reach 133 for nine in reply.

Mooney Handed Three-Game Suspension
Cricket Ireland (CI) have suspended all-rounder John Mooney for three matches after he posted an 'offensive and inappropriate' tweet reacting to the death of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. He has been suspended for the first One-Day International against Pakistan in May and two Inter-Provincial matches beginning on 6th and 14th May respectively.

ICC Chief Executive Urges Asif, Butt To 'Come Clean'
International Cricket Council (ICC) Chief Executive David Richardson has issued a strongly worded statement in response to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) decision to reject Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt's appeals against their bans for corruption. The CAS rejected their cases and upheld the decisions of the independent Anti-Corruption Tribunal of February 2011 which handed Asif a seven-year ban (five years suspended) and Butt a 10-year ban (five years suspended).

IPL 2013: Watson Century In Vain As Chennai Win
Shane Watson struck the first century of the Indian Premier League 2013 but even that wasn't enough to stop Chennai Super Kings beating Rajasthan Royals by five wickets. In a repeat of the 2008 final, Chennai reversed the result by closing on 186 for five with a ball to spare in reply to Rajasthan's Watson-propelled 185 for four.

Delhi Daredevils broke their six-match losing streak in the 2013 IPL when they beat Mumbai Indians by nine wickets at the Feroz Shah Kotla. The hosts finally broke their duck and put two points on the tally, yet still languish in last spot and will need a lot of repeat performances if they are to have even a slim hope of making the knock-outs. Mumbai meanwhile suffered a second straight loss and failed to climb up from their fifth spot in the table, with six points from as many games.

Kenya all but qualified for the final of the Twenty20 Quadrangular tournament in Namibia by beating a strong South Africa Emerging Players side, while the hosts kept their final hopes alive and bounced back from yesterday's defeat to beat the Netherlands and knock them out of contention.

Bangladesh Call-Up Ziaur And Shafiul
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have strongly criticised Bangladesh for their performance in the first Test against Zimbabwe, with media committee chairman Jalal Yunus describing their batting performances as "disappointing". He also urged any players who are battling injuries to return to Dhaka to regain full fitness, with Shafiul Islam and Ziaur Rahman added to the squad as cover for Rubel Hossain and Shahadat Hossain.
