The Case for Islamaphobia / Syria
Walid believes that the accusation of Islamaphobia is an attempt by Muslims to place the term on the same level as anti-Semitism or other racial issues. Focus on Evangelism
Vic began this edition of Crosstalk by talking about the Bible story that depicts a young man possessed by evil spirits. He came before Jesus and Jesus set him free. In his joy over what had been done he wanted to go with Jesus and the disciples but Jesus told him that he should stay behind and tell his friends what the Lord has done. This is important because while many of us may have dreamed of doing what other Christians might see as "great things" for God, perhaps God is calling you to...

The True Gospel
The broadcast begins with Paul discussing how the gospel has been reduced to a number of simple questions which include: Do you know you are a sinner? Would you like to go to heaven? Would you like to pray and ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart? If the respondent prays that prayer, we then ask if he/she was sincere. If the respondent answers "yes" to these questions, we declare the individual to be "born again." Paul points out how this is not the gospel of Jesus Christ, "...and that...

Concerns with the TSA
The Transportation Security Administration was formed after 9/11. It used to come under the authority of the Department of Transportation but now operates under the banner of Homeland Security. Their screeners or "officers" who pat you down in airports have no arresting authority or federal law enforcement training. In other words, many scientists don't have any solid evidence that proves the existence of evolution yet they continue to propagate the manufactured assertion that evolution is a real...

Government Actions Causing Concern
Vic discussed several current events that should be of concern to American citizens, and to people of faith. Among them: The annual Government Accounting Office audit of United States' finances concludes that unless there are policy changes, the current fiscal path is unsustainable, and will result in the collapse of the dollar. Military exercises—often unannounced—which are so realistic they frighten citizens and generate 911 calls that activate local emergency responders The Obama...

Then Sings My Soul--Hymn Stories
Pastor Morgan believes hymns are important to the Christian faith because they represent 2,000 years of our musical and worshipful heritage and 1,500 years of biblical heritage. In other words, what you do in your church has no application to how you live your life in the public square.

Let Phyllis inspire you with her story when you review this...

The Death Culture and its Influence on our Kids
While some individuals may believe that the answer to national tragedies such as the Connecticut shooting can be found through increased gun control legislation, the bottom line is that this subject involves three elements: people, sin and the enemy of our souls who is busily at work attempting to bend the minds of our youth away from news of Christ.
-
News Round-Up
Vic began this edition of Crosstalk by noting an interesting contrast related to the story that 26 lives were taken in a Connecticut elementary school shooting today. Many other stories were also covered.

Right To Work
What is the right-to-work? According to Mark, every worker in America has to have the protected right to join a labor union. Unfortunately, for many years our legal system has allowed unions to demand that workers pay dues in order to get or keep a job. Right-to-work laws protect a worker's right to join a union but they also insist that a worker cannot be compelled to pay union dues to get a job.

Seniors and the "Fiscal Cliff"
Social Security is not solvent and in 3 years the disability section will go bankrupt. In 19 years, the basic Social Security will run out of trust funds and only be able to pay out at a 75% rate. In other words, if nothing is done, recipients at that time will take a 25% cut in benefits. However, Dan agrees that Social Security should be separate from the "fiscal cliff" negotiations.

Approaching The "Fiscal Cliff"
Michael Connelly believes there is no offer for definite spending cuts on the table from President Obama. As hurricane Sandy was inflicting damage, one could only wonder how former Vice President Al Gore would react. On his own blog site, Brian Sussman predicted what Gore's response would be. The problem is not one meteorologist would connect global warming or climate change with hurricane frequency, intensity or severity.

Deadline Approaches for Health Insurance Exchanges
November 6th is the election date, but November 16th is also an important day. That is the deadline for the nation's governors to declare their intentions regarding implementation of a health insurance exchange under Obamacare. The November 16th deadline is artificial and has no basis in state or federal law. Does it pay to contact state governors? After all, if a state doesn't implement a state exchange, won't they automatically default to the federal government's exchange? Did the federal...

She mentioned John 17 where Jesus is on his way to the cross, yet in spite of that heavy burden, he prayed for us. Here he isn't praying to the Father that we be allowed to escape to our "holy huddles" but instead he prays that we'd be given the strength to engage the culture.

Worship and Music in the Word
Music can motivate; it can be a blessing, but it can be abrasive as well as a curse. It's this very challenging topic of music and worship in the church that was covered on this edition of Crosstalk. Remember that God does not accept all forms of worship allegedly geared toward Him. He's looking for those who worship Him in spirit and in truth. This fact alone makes this Crosstalk a critical one worth reviewing as well as sharing with friends and loved ones.

Medicare Going Broke?
After Mitt Romney's announcement of Paul Ryan as his vice-presidential candidate, the liberal media began to scare seniors with the false notion that Ryan, if elected, would change Medicare as we know it. Is this true? Daniel noted that President Obama is taking away billions from seniors as he attempts to do away with Medicare Advantage, yet he has the nerve to criticize Paul Ryan who is, in fact, trying to save the system.

Evolution Impossible
According to Dr. Ashton, changes or mutations to DNA can happen when there is a loss of some of the code or the code is damaged or if the code has new components added to it. No scientist has ever seen the substantial amounts of new code forming that would be required to prove the existence of evolution.

U.N. Gun Ban Treaty / Aurora Shootings
The right to self-defense is biblical. America's founders knew this which is why they gave us the right to keep and bear arms. Does history prove that gun bans make American cities safer? Erich describes why the answer is no, and with Vic, discusses other factors that prove why allowing law-abiding citizens to carry guns, is a great deterrent to crime.

European Ministry and the State of the European Church
This Crosstalk was an example of how we can't forget to monitor and pray for the needs of those ministering the gospel in places other than America. Christian Andresen began by describing Europe as basically a godless society. As an example, he cited East Germany where now only 2.5% believe that there is a God. Where did things go wrong? Christian believes the church lost its focus and went more with culture and traditions rather than focusing on the Bible and God.

Disabilities Treaty Update and News Round-Up
As reported two weeks ago on Crosstalk, the U.N. Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities treaty would set up a committee of judges and U.N. experts to monitor U.S. compliance to global standards allegedly set up to protect the best interests of the disabled, including children. Jim noted on today's program that this treaty would also allow for greater abortion access in Article 25. In short, this treaty would force Americans to sanction sterilization or abortion for the...

The Fossil Record: A Problem for Evolutionists
The creation model can be defined as a model of sudden appearance. That's precisely what we see in the fossil record; many varieties coming from a single kind but one kind never becoming a different kind. What about the origin of the fossil record? How do evolutionists believe it came about? Is the evolutionary "tree" 100% factual or filled with inference? These questions and more are dealt with as Dr. Morris explains how the fossil record has Christianity winning the origins battle.

Reality--Virtual or Virtuous
In our modern society there seems to be and incessant desire for entertainment and excitement and this can lead to parents who allow or even encourage unbiblical choices in the lives of their kids just to prevent them from getting bored. When Satan clouds the mind, virtuousness disappears and that which we often call virtual reality gets played out. As we've seen, in acting out these scenes of the mind, people get killed.
