If ever a decade defined a new breed in how music was consumed, it would be the 70's. Here, on RadioIO 70's Rock, hosted by founder, Mike Roe, you get the music as it would have been heard on FM radio at the time. Post hippie generation, radio and music outlets began taking an eclectic new direction and various diverse genres began to mold the musical landscape. From southern rock, country rock and blues to hard rock, arena rock and glam then all the way to progressive rock and art rock to the lighter side: pop rock, soft rock, reggae and singer-songwriters, this internet channel is host to all the popular genres concisely shaped into cohesive hand-picked playlists. We learned that, during the 70's, a vinyl single was not always necessary to be an audience favorite let alone a Billboard Top 100 or Top 40 hit. The development of the infamous AOR (album oriented rock) format proved to be widely popular among listeners who didn't wish to be force fed their favorite music. But, don't expect to hear disco or Europop here, this internet radio station is dedicated to an edgier and more thought-provoking audience.
