Angie Martinez has dominated the airwaves of New York City radio since her introductions eight years ago. Her comfortable yet in-depth approach when communicating with the hip-hop community has made her the most listened to female personality in the number one radio market in the world. After participating on several underground mixtapes and appearing on records such as the Grammy-nominated single "Ladies Night" with Missy Elliot, Lil' Kim, Left Eye and Da Brat, Angie decided it was time to pursue her own recording career. With the release of her Up Close and Personal album last year, Angie was able to successfully transport herself to center stage. Her project attracted the attention and collaboration of artists such as Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige to name a few, and has earned her a nomination in the 2002 BET Awards for "Best Female Hip Hop Artist." Angie's sophomore album, Animal House, titled after her newly formed production company, is due out August 2002
