IU-Syracuse Postgame Show: Choosing To Focus On The...
It was supposed to be another Banner season in Bloomington. Turns out that wasn't meant to be, a point driven home tonight in Washington D.C. by Syracuse and it's impenetrable zone. But if you want angry ranting about the Syracuse loss, you won't find it here. However, if you want to hear three die-hards try to come to grips with the end of this scintillating two-year run in the raw, immediate aftermath of its brutal ending, listen in and commiserate right along.

IU-Temple Postgame Show and Sweet 16 Preview
It wasn't easy. It wasn't pretty. And Hoosier Nation collectively has no more nails to chew. But it was a victory, and it was thoroughly satisfying, and it propels Indiana to the Sweet 16 for the second consecutive season. IU now faces Syracuse in the Sweet 16, and the Orange will present a unique challenge because of their zone. Will the Hoosiers be up to it? We look ahead to the Sweet 16 and dissect today's thrilling W on the latest episode of The Assembly Call.
-
IU-James Madison Postgame Show and Temple Look-Ahead
Indiana took care of business today the way a #1 seed should, and it looked like they recaptured a little bit of lost swagger in the process. The clear MVP today was Yogi Ferrell, who finished with 16 points (including the first 9 of the game), 8 rebounds, and 6 assists. He was absolutely terrific [...]
-
IU-Wisconsin Postgame Show and NCAA Tourney Look-Ahead
On the latest episode of The Assembly Call we break down today's game, briefly (because is there to say about it that hasn't been said?), and then look ahead to the NCAA Tournament. Most compellingly, Andy Bottoms provides four teams to watch for during tomorrow's Selection Show that you do NOT want to see in Indiana's bracket, because they a play a style resembling Wisconsin's that could give the Hoosiers fits.
-
IU-Michigan Postgame Show: Zeller, Oladipo Carry...
YES! YES! YES! In a complete basketball haze, and not knowing what else to say, that one word over and over again is all I could muster in the immediate aftermath of Indiana’s improbable late game comeback win today over Michigan. And as you surely know, that victory gave Indiana the outright Big Ten title [...]

Assembly Call Senior Night Edition (Plus Concerned...
It was a night of mixed emotions in Assembly Hall. The first emotions were not good ones, as the Hoosiers were out-toughed and out-hustled by a visiting Ohio State team clearly intent on exacting revenge for the Columbus beatdown IU delivered last month. Vengeance attained. But the disappointment of the loss was soon replaced by immense pride for all IU fans, as Derek Elston, Jordan Hulls, and Christian Watford were honored on Senior Night.
-
Special Edition: College Hoops Thoughts as the Madness...
Ari Kaufman and Jon Washburn dissect the topsy-turvy terrain of college basketball with a special edition episode of The Assembly Call. They discuss the Hoosiers, of course, while also touching on the Big Ten as a whole, Butler, the systemic overrating of Duke, and much more.

IU-Minnesota Postgame Show (Episode Title: To Hell With...
I hate the damn Barn ... where weird things always seem to happen, and where IU teams just so often seem to play their worst games. And that's exactly what happened tonight.
-
IU-Michigan State Postgame Show (Or, The Victor Oladipo...
Victor Oladipo's rebound putback, breakaway dunk, and two free throws iced the win...the first win for Indiana at the Breslin Center since 1991, which is what made this one of the most satisfying Indiana wins in recent memory.
-
IU v Purdue Postgame Show
Purdue entered today's game in Bloomington averaging 64.8 points per game. Once this afternoon's tilt was over, Indiana had beaten Purdue by a combined 65 points in their two meetings this year. That stat pretty much sums up the dominance of IU over Purdue this season.
-
IU v Nebraska Postgame Show
An early second half explosion, keyed by Victor Oladipo hustle (go figure), got the Hoosiers going. They ultimately took care of business at home over Nebraska, 76-47.
-
IU at Ohio State Postgame Show
Tom Crean's Hoosiers have made amazing strides since he took over, but no Crean team - and no IU team at all since 1993 - had beaten a top 10 team on the road. That came to an emphatic end today in Columbus, Ohio.
-
IU at Illinois Postgame Show
Well that sucked. Yes, I'm talking about the last play, where Illinois got the easiest buzzer-beater in basketball history. But I'm also talking, generally, about the final 4-5 minutes. The Hoosiers controlled this game for 35 minutes, but simply could not maintain focus and put Illinois away.
-
IU-Purdue Postgame Show
Now that was dominance. Indiana put together one of its most complete games of the season in a 97-60 demolition of Purdue that was over before the first half even ended.
-
IU-Michigan State Postgame Show
Indiana never let Michigan State get control of the game, kept its composure late, and won a tough 75-70 battle to stay tied atop the conference. Indiana needed to take care of business at home against a really good team, and they did just that.
-
IU-Penn State Postgame Show
Indiana took care of business at home last night, upending the Penn State Nittany Lions and holding them under 50 points. Most impressive was Indiana's ability to jump out early in both halves, as the 2nd half especially has been problematic for Indiana in recent games. However, this win was not without its question marks.
-
IU at Northwestern Postgame Show
The Hoosiers jumped out to a big early lead, thanks to aggressive play from Christian Watford and a solid all-around performance from Cody Zeller, but once again second half woes plagued the Hoosiers. Northwestern was able to make it something of a game late before the Hoosiers finally pulled away.
-
IU-Wisconsin Postgame Show
11 in a row. That's how many straight times Wisconsin and Bo Ryan have beaten Indiana, including five in a row at Assembly Hall. And tonight, while there is plenty of blame to pass around for the guys in Cream and Crimson, it would be unwise to simply think of this as Indiana losing tonight. Wisconsin came into Assembly Hall, undeterred and unintimidated, and took this game. As they always seem to nowadays. It needs to stop. But it sure didn't tonight.
-
IU-Minnesota Postgame Show
Indiana roared to a 52-29 halftime lead today over #8 Minnesota, scoring at a ridiculous 1.60 point per possession clip. It was, quite simply, one of the best halves of basketball any team in America has played this year. But to Minnesota's credit, the Golden Gopher kids fought back, and Indiana helped them out with turnovers and missed free throws. Thus, what looked like a blowout turned into a hard fought 88-81 win for Indiana.
-
IU-Penn State Postgame Show
Penn State took a 3-2 lead...and then the Hoosiers asserted their dominance. A big early run, keyed by aggressive offensive play from Christian Watford, put Indiana up by double digits, and Penn State never got any closer.
-
IU-Iowa Postgame Show
Late in the afternoon on New Year's Eve, the Indiana Hoosiers scored their first Big Ten victory of the season. And it was an important victory, as it came on the road against a team many think will compete for an NCAA Tournament bid.
-
IU-Mount St. Mary’s Postgame Show
Indiana bounced back from its first loss of the season to demolish Mount St. Mary's in Bloomington. The guys broke down the game on another episode of The Assembly Call.
-
IU-Butler Postgame Show
Today, erstwhile #1-ranked Indiana lost to ersetwhile unranked Butler. And without question, the Bulldogs deserved to win. Indiana actually controlled the game for most of regulation, but Butler was able to make a late 12-0 run that ultimately resulted in a 7-point lead. Then, despite a late 3 by Yogi Ferrell to send it to OT, and the foul-outs of Andrew Smith, Roosevelt Jones, and Erik Fromm, Butler still was able to hang on against an Indiana team that, frankly, just didn't come to play...
-
IU-CCSU Postgame Show
Last night, Indiana improved to 9-0 on the season with a 100-69 victory over Central Connecticut State. Cody Zeller led the way statistically with a goodness-gracious double-double of 19 points and 19 rebounds. But Victor Oladipo led the way in highlights, busting out a number of memorable dunks (and filling the stat sheet in his own right). It was a dominant performance by the #1 team in America.

IU-North Carolina Postgame Show (Complete)
It seems that we've had a slight problem with our shows syncing correcting with iTunes, causing only a portion of the show to be available there. I think I have it figured out, so I am re-posting last night's show - from IU's thoroughly entertaining demolition of North Carolina - in hopes that it syncs up correctly for everyone who likes to access the show via iTunes.
-
IU-North Carolina Quick Recap and Postgame Show
What a performance from Indiana. After trading baskets with North Carolina for 16 minutes - but always seeming in control - Indiana went on an epic 10-minute run to make a 2-point game a 20-point game and essentially run the Tar Heels out of the gym. And we broke it all down on tonight's victorious episode of The Assembly Call.
-
IU-Ball State Postgame Show (Plus Bonus IU-North...
Things didn't start our perfectly for Indiana tonight. Leading only 21-13 at the third TV timeout, Zach Osterman mentioned aptly on Twitter that Tom Crean seemed quite intense with his team, perhaps sensing that something was a bit "off" with them. Well, whatever may have been off got flipped on quickly.
-
IU-Georgetown Quick Recap and Postgame Show
Georgetown may not be ranked, but that won't be the case for long. The Hoyas are a long, tough bunch, and they gave Indiana everything the Hoosiers could handle tonight. But the #1 team in America - still playing without its top three frontcourt reserves - did what the #1 team should do: it responded to gut check time and won a gritty game against a good team.
-
IU-Georgia Quick Recap and Postgame Show
After a sluggish start in their first game away from Assembly Hall and against a big conference foe, Indiana was able to pull away from Georgia in the 2nd half en route to a 66-53 victory. With Jerod and Ryan out for the evening thanks to Monday Night Football, Ryan and Zach broke it all down on the latest postgame show.
-
IU-Sam Houston State Quick Recap and Postgame Show
No, the competition was not great. And no, Indiana was never really challenged from the moment the ball was tipped until the final second ticked off the clock. But the Hoosiers played with an energy, a focus, and an intensity level that we hadn't yet seen through two games.
-
IU-NDSU Quick Recap and Postgame Show
Tonight's game felt a little blah. The atmosphere on a Monday night in Assembly Hall was a little blah. The play on the floor, for stretches, was a little blah. And yet, Indiana still dominated North Dakota State just like a #1 team should en route to an 87-61 victory. And yet, Indiana still dominated North Dakota State just like a #1 team should en route to an 87-61 victory. We broke it all down on tonight's show, including some great observations from Zach (who was at the game) about the...
-
IU-Bryant Quick Recap and Postgame Show
Friday night, the #1-ranked Indiana Hoosiers did exactly what a #1- ranked team should do against an inferior opponent: they imposed their will and cruised to an easy victory.
-
Indiana-Kentucky Sweet 16 Postgame Show
One of the most memorable seasons in my 20+ years as an avid Indiana basketball fan ended last night when the Hoosiers fell 102-90 to the Kentucky Wildcats. Here is last night's postgame show, where the disappointment was certainly palpable but, I think, totally overshadowed by the pride of what this team accomplished and the optimism about what the future holds for IU hoops.
-
Indiana-Kentucky Sweet 16 Preview Show with Chronic...
In our Indiana-Kentucky Sweet 16 Preview episode, we break down matchups - specifically Anthony Davis on Cody Zeller and Indiana's guards on Kentucky's guards - and discuss key players, the coaches, and the importance of Indiana's intangibles against Kentucky's incredible talent. And, of course, we give predictions.
-
IU-VCU Postgame Show
By now you know all the details of how and why Indiana's VCU victory happened, and you've surely seen the replay of Will Sheehey's shot more than a few times. Andy, Ryan, and I broke down the game - quite excitedly - immediately when it was over.
-
IU-New Mexico State Quick Recap and Postgame Show
Not only is Indiana back in the NCAA Tournament, Indiana is back in the win column in the NCAA Tournament. Since 1994, it's been a rare season when we've been able to say that.
-
IU-Wisconsin Big Ten Tournament Postgame Show
Indiana's Big Ten Tournament run ended today as the Hoosiers lost 79-71 to the Wisconsin Badgers in the quarterfinals. Wisconsin was able to get out to a 25-15 lead early thanks to some hot 3-point shooting, which never ended, and though the Hoosiers cut the deficit to one on numerous occasions, they were never able to get over the hump.
-
IU-Penn State Big Ten Tournament Game Quick Recap and...
For the first time since 2007, Indiana and its fans tasted victory in a postseason game. Unfortunately, the news is not all positive coming out of Indianapolis tonight. We broke it all down on the latest episode of The Assembly Call, with Chronic Hoosier joining in for the final 15-20 minutes with an anecdote that will warm your heart and make you even more proud of this group of kids that have led IU's resurgence in 2012.
-
Indiana-Purdue Quick Recap and Postgame Show
It was a special night in Bloomington, in more ways than one. First, Indiana completed a sweep of its arch rival Purdue, taking an early lead and never relinquishing it. And secondly, it was special because one of the most memorable senior classes in Indiana basketball history was honored.
-
Indiana-Michigan State Quick Recap and Postgame Show
As our own Ryan said on the postgame show, the Kentucky win was "bigger" because it came against an arch rival and announced Indiana's return to relevancy. But in many ways, tonight's win was "better" because of how thoroughly excellent Indiana played for almost the entire game.
