She also oversees the Museum collection of over 25,000 objects, the largest repository of items relating to the Australian Jewish experience.

This week Ilana's special guests are Charles and Leah Justin. Charles Justin AM is the co-founder of SJB and Plus Architects, two major national and international architectural practices. He is a past President of the Architects Institute of Australia, Victorian Chapter. He is also a past President of the Jewish Museum of Australia. He was recently Chair of the Melbourne Art Foundation who run the Melbourne Art Fair. He co-founded with his wife Leah the Justin Art House Museum in 2016. In 2022 he was awarded an AM in the Australian Honours. Leah Justin was a high school teacher before working as an architectural librarian. She later established and managed the adult education program at the Jewish Museum of Australia and was its Director of community education for 20 years . She has also been involved in Jewish community affairs in a voluntary capacity for over 40 years . In 2016 , she co-founded JAHM with her husband Charles.

It was so great to share the Radio Carrum airwaves with Marcus Rechsteiner (The UV Race, Luxury) & Daniel Twomey (Deaf Wish, Lower Plenty) from Hot Tubs Time Machine and their special friend, Kanika. We chatted about their latest release “Food & Ruins” and was lucky enough to have had them play some songs.. was truly amazing, so many fun moments. The music is recorded by Daniel playing an enormous number of instruments: clarinet, electronic kits, live drums, bass, synth, guitar, etc. the list goes on and Marcus has signature observational humour, lyrics are just hilarious. You can catch them play next at the Bell at Take Away in Preston and they also host Hot Tubs Bingo Machine on the last Monday of every month at the Retreat Hotel in Brunswick.
