ModelGeeks Episode 52 "The Best Kits That Never Were"

3/18/2023
Welcome to Episode 52 of The ModelGeeks Podcast. In this episode we discuss the frustrations of hoping for a version of a nice kit subject, that simply never materializes. Read on… We’ve all built kits or seen kits hit the streets that we automatically think “Oh man, I hope they do the X version of that!” …only for that particular version of a kit to never materialize…for what seems to be unfathomable reasons! Right now my favorite headscratcher to this conundrum is the RF-8 Crusader. Building the Hasegawa F-8E at the moment, you can see where the thought was there to perhaps do the Recconn version…and why wouldn’t they, as historical an aircraft that it has been?! But, to no avail. We are left with only aftermarket conversions and dreams. In an era when we keep seeing releases of subjects we’ve all only dreamt of, there are still several subjects out there waiting to piggyback on to the success of their predecessors. Of course, we’ll also discuss what we are In Work on, give you a run-down of what’s new out there in kits, aftermarket, upcoming shows, and other news around the hobby. We would like to thank all the listeners for the continued support you have given the show. We hope to see you out and about as we hit some of the shows.
