A new regional model is needed to supply sustainable commodities in large quantities in a cost and time efficient manner. This new model is the Verified Sourcing Area (VSA), currently being piloted by IDH and its partners in Brazil and Indonesia. A VSA is a defined area or jurisdiction with a clear governance system linked directly to sustainability criteria on the ground and with international market demand.
