Ep. 38 - Jim Johanik - The Importance of a Healthy Organizational Culture

Jim began his career in the capital markets trading industry in the eurodollar options pit at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He eventually worked for the exchange in its rollout of their electronic trading systems and then moved to the London International Financial Futures Exchange to lead its US Technology division. During this time, Jim also completed his Master of Business Administration. In 2010, Jim heeded God’s call to transition from trading technologies to enter into full-time ministry, working jointly as the chief marketing officer in a trading technologies company while co-founding a media-based outreach ministry. Jim’s ministry involvement since then has been through leadership roles with Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Campus Crusade for Christ Jim leads three of Chicago’s 14 LeaderImpact groups and writes curriculum for LeaderImpact. When not leading groups or LeaderImpact staff, Jim and his wife Heidi are committed to their five children and two grandchildren. Jim is currently on the Board of LeaderImpact in the US and is now Pastor of Evangelism at College Church in Wheaton, where he is also the head football coach and wrestling coach at Wheaton Academy in West Chicago, Illinois. Ep. 36 - Carol LaFayette-Boyd - Never Give Up

For the second time in her Athletic career, Carol LaFayette-Boyd of Regina has been named the World Masters Athletics Female Athlete of the Year. In 2022, Carol broke six world records in the women's 80+ age category. In total, she has 17 world age group records to her name. To put her astonishing athleticism and talent in perspective, Carol ran a 16.23 second 100 M race. The fastest woman ran a 10.49 seconds 100 m. A retired social worker, Carol did not start running until her late 40s and didn’t win her first competitive track event until she was 50. This great-grandmother of four has no plans to slow down or hang up her spikes; she plans to continue running for the rest of her life. Carol's key to longevity is her passion for staying healthy which keeps her training at her best. She says she is inspired by the women who are competing in the 100+ age category. She says she has lots of time to do that and for right now she would just like to stay healthy and do better in her times in all events. Thanks for listening! Ep. 35 - John Chick - The Outspoken Christian Athlete

John grew up in Gillette, Wyoming surrounded by an unbelievable support network. He attended Utah State University where he graduated with his Bachelor in Exercise Science. He signed with the Houston Texans and went on to a 12-year professional football career in both the NFL and CFL with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and the Edmonton Eskimos. He is a 2-time Grey Cup Champion, a 3 time ALL-Star, 3-time nominee for the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player. His more cherished accomplishment during his football career was in the way he was able to serve the communities he lived as a national advocate for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation; a condition in which he has proudly conquered daily since the age of 14. In 2018 John stepped away from football to provide a more stable life for his amazing wife Catherine and their 10 wonderful children. He started 2 businesses Iron Will Fitness and Kickin It Coed, and recently became a director of prison ministry. He loves to workout, play board games, and pick up basketball, and I heard he submitted a video for The Titan Games because of his belief in himself, his family, and in Jesus Christ. For over 20 years, Andy has served in ministry as a youth pastor and marriage ministry pastor. He has found that not much changes in each role, just that some come with more wrinkles and less hair. Andy is an advocate for mental health awareness as he has known the heaviness of depression himself. He is passionate about fighting against the awful attack of mental health issues that are running rampant across the human race. At his heaviest, Andy weighed 345 lbs and his wife Tiffany weighed 317 lbs. Together, they have lost over 350 lbs combined and have co-founded a health coaching business called “Taking Back My Life” where they have helped thousands of people get healthy as well. Through this journey, Andy has become passionate about fitness and working out. Andy currently lives outside Dallas, Texas with his wife Tiffany and their three beautiful daughters Payton, Parker, and Presley.
