"The Power of Personal Systems" with Lisa McGrath

Dawn talks with Lisa McGrath, an international bestselling author and speaker, National Board Certified Teacher, Achievement Coach, and CEO of Pages with Purpose. Dawn and Lisa talked about personal systems and some tips and strategies to start implementing them in what you do. In this episode… Who is Lisa and whom does she serve? (00:54). What is Personal Systems? (1:39). What would we need to start to create these systems intentionally? And what are the benefits of that? (2:52). What do we need to do to start thinking about these systems that maybe we haven't? (7:13) If you were to give me a rundown of the most important three things, systems-wise, that if as a business, we just kind of run with it, we don't necessarily think this way. What are the top three places we should be putting personal systems in? (9:11). Do you invite people in to collaborate for those, or is this your personal system that you're putting in, and then it's just evolving over time? (13:04) Let's say it's been inconsistent, or we're going through a rebrand, or something else is happening in the world that we're responding to. How do we reset and make sure that these systems are reflecting exactly what we want to put out in the marketplace at that moment? (14:27) A lot of times at certain places in your entrepreneurial journey, you will be afraid to make a decision, or you might make a decision that was maybe not in the best interest of where you were going, for whatever reason. So how would you take that sort of circumstance and make sure that we were resetting or looking at our four rooms and our personal systems ? (17:53) Let's just say we are really intentional. We sit down, we put these personal systems in place in those first three areas. We're looking holistically at the business. We're taking those calculated risks, but we're not seeing the payoff. How could I tell the difference whether I am having an upper limit problem, or I'm really just having other struggles and I need to address those first?
