Marcy tells us how her experience in the field of education and her love for her Filipino culture propelled her to create the Abaka Foundation. The Abaka Foundation is is the only 501c3 non-profit foundation that offers a complete Filipino Language Immersion program for children in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. Marcy discusses the impact the Abaka Foundation has made in the lives of youth presently and how she hopes to grow her mission in the years to come. The kiddos even join in on this episode and share some of the amazing things they have learned thus far. This week on The Fame Game with MaddieRose, we welcome entrepreneur, speaker, and author Terri Bowersock to the microphone! Terri has an extremely moving and inspiring story to tell. After doing poorly in school due to challenges with her dyslexia she found herself searching for way to succeed. After making it through high school, Terri came up with an idea that changed her life and gave her the opportunity to succeed beyond her wildest dreams. That idea happened to be Terri's Home Store, which we know today as Terri's Consign and Design. Before she knew it she was featured on Oprah, became a national speaker, and author for a multitude of books she never thought she would be able to write. Although her success in life was moving, bumps in the road occurred, such as when her mother was murdered. Terri always persisted and overcame each challenge. It can take months for a family to receive the death benefit and often this also results in a relocation from base housing. HHFF steps in to help with basic expenses during their time of transition. They assist those severely wounded who need equipment or housing modifications as they adjust to new life circumstances. They also help the children with life enrichment programs, mentorship and counseling. br Helping Hands for Freedom is stepping up to the plate to serve our military and their families. Now, we would like your help! br This amazing organization is making strides and is currently in the process of putting on multiple events to benefit their cause such as Route for the Brave.

Their goal is to pick up where what can be insufficient benefits leave off by providing but not limited to employment placement, alignment with social services available through the VA or private resources, repairing veteran homes in disrepair. Their repairs include everything from minor paint touch ups to Extreme Home Makeovers and sometimes just a hand to hold. This week on The Fame Game with MaddieRose, we welcome Viana Bruce, President of Military Family Support Group. br Viana tells us the story of how MFSG come to be; a group of mom's with sons in the military, deployed overseas, who wanted to band together to support the men and women of this great nation by sending care packages. What was once started as a Marine Support Group, became a Family Support Group- supporting ALL branches of the military, with the participation of other military families. As the word spread about helping our nation's troops, Viana was called by the staff of CNN and asked to be interviewed by Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America and Evening News with Tom Brokaw . Eventually, they were interviewed by every local news station, appearing on a live segment on Channel 3 for five weeks in a row.
