Ep. 257 Should a Pastor Lead a Para-Ministry Organization

9/7/2020
Shows Main Idea – The title of this podcast is full of subjectivity. There are no scriptures that will answer the question in the way that we like the Bible to speak to our most pressing queries. It does not have to be wrong for a pastor to have “another job.” Then, again, it could prove disastrous for a pastor to have a side-hustle. Like most “gray area problems,” you want to think with wisdom, carefulness, courage, and humility. Show Notes:...

Ep. 251 The Absolute Best Counseling That You Can Give Anyone

7/27/2020
Shows Main Idea – Sometimes a counselor will second-guess the counseling they provided; they are not sure they gave the best advice. The way to have this kind of faith for soul care is by measuring your counsel by these four things. Show Notes:...

7/13/2020
Shows Main Idea – Reactive racism is a spontaneous, lack of self-control moment where you say something unkind to someone. Reflective racism is more introspective and internalized. It's a genuine racist. You would characterize someone this way: "He's a racist." Which one are you? (I believe I heard Shelby Steele use this term.) You could also talk about reactive and reflective pertaining to any form of anger, not just racism. In this episode, I'll talk about both—racism and other forms of...
