In our Gospel lesson today, Jesus says, “I am the Bread of the Life.” Maybe you are not used to hearing that second “the.” Jesus is the Bread that has come down from heaven to give us “the life.” The life is even better than eating manna in the wilderness. The life is even better than the miraculous feeding of the 5,000. Jesus says, “Whoever eats this Bread will never ever go hungry – ever.” That is His promise to us.
