But guess what—then they wouldn’t forgive him and let him back into the fellowship of the church! So, today we’ll see how Paul rebuked that church for their unforgiveness.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. And so what does faith do for us? It gives us insight into foresight like it’s hindsight. Continuing our look at sins that should be dealt with by the church, Pastor Ford defines for us what a “busybody” is. According to him, that’s a person who is “always up in somebody else’s video, trying to find out what flavor their Kool-Aid is.” He says that person is in the category of seven things that God hates. What does God hate? The person who sows discord among the brethren—or in other words, they cause division among the people of the church.

As we begin a new study in Galatians 6, we’ll look at the subject of church discipline. And today we’ll consider how matters of private sin or offense, go public too often. So, when we have something against a brother or sister, that’s where it ought to stay. We ought not be divisive in the church, taking our complaints to others who have nothing to do with whatever it is that we have a problem with.

As we look further at Matthew 26, we’ll discover that when Jesus was depressed, He enlisted the support of His friends. However, He didn’t just pick any of them. He was selective. Because not all of the people we are close to are going to understand our disctint situation. So, we’ll see how selectively chosing the right support team can be one thing we can do to help us overcome our depression.

How You Can Get Up When Depression Has You Down, Part 1

7/15/2019
More
As we begin a study today in Matthew 26, Pastor Ford will explain that depression is not a sin. It can’t be. Why? Because according to scripture, Jesus was depressed and He never sinned. That realization should be a relief to those of us who are suffering in silence. Because there is so much stigma attached to depression, many of us never admit how we feel, so we never get the help we need.

The Macedonian Mindset, Part 3

7/9/2019
More
As we continue to look at 2 Corinthians and understand what made the mindset of the Macedonian believers such an example for us, Pastor Ford will explain that the basis of their sacrificial spirit was a result of them understanding God’s ultimate sacrifice. God gave the best gift of heaven (Jesus) for the worst of earth (us)!

There are some people, no matter what you do to them, no matter what they go through, they will never deny Jesus and they’ll never backslide.. They can go without food, without a job, without lots of things, and they still have the joy of the Lord. They still tell people that Jesus Christ is the center of their joy. And Pastor Ford points out how we can do just that and what having this kind of mindset actually requires.

How can we encourage fellow followers of Christ to serve in their local church congregations? By helping them to understand that God led them to the place where they worship, not just to get fed by the preaching of the Word. God led them there to work. And as Pastor Ford will remind us today, that’s because we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good work!

God's Pleasure and Your Treasure, Part 3

7/4/2019
More
We often wonder why there are shadows in our lives. Pastor Ford will explain today that it’s sometimes because we’ve let something in our lives—some kind of moon—come in between us and God, replacing His priority in our lives. What is a moon? It’s a celestial body that doesn’t possess its own light. It only reflects the light that the sun gives it. So Pastor Ford will ask us, “What has God given to us in our lives, that we’ve allowed it to replace Him?”

Learn more about how we should view our responsibility to be actively giving back to God on today's Treasured Truth.

As we continue to look at the reasons why people reject Jesus, Pastor Ford will emphasize the holiness of Jesus. Jesus is holy just like God is holy. And then he will ask us to consider how we react to that holiness. Do we revere it? Or do we scoff at it, trying to minimize the truth of it, like so many people in our society try to do today?

As we begin a study in Colossians 4 today, Pastor Ford will remind us that if you are a follower of Christ you are called to get involved with ministry at your local church. And what the Church needs is more people who utilize their gifts and are faithful in service.
