It's been an AGGRESSIVE summer. Evo 2018 and the Overwatch League Grand Finals have blown us all... away. What's it like to be at a live event vs. watching it on Twitch? The biggest atmosphere changes? Chelsea talks fighting game drama at Evo, Allegra compares DragonBall FighterZ to the anime and Ashley gushes about seeing OWL players in person.
Which games did you never get around to playing? The cast asks YOU and a variety of special guests including Jeff Kaplan (Game Director, Overwatch), Sam Barlow (Her Story), Austin Walker (Waypoint), Teddy Dief (Hyper Light Drifter) and many more!
Ashley tried out Overwatch's newest hero, Hammond/Wrecking Ball. Allegra started Octopath Traveler. Chelsea found a VERY INTERESTING official magazine spread on who Mario's best friends and worst enemies are. Simone FREAKS OUT over the Great Interior Design Challenge on Netflix. FREAKS. OUT.
Chelsea finished her Tomb of Horrors D&D campaign, Ashley can't blink while being extremely bad at Lumines, Allegra is living and breathing Mario Tennis and Simone follows up with the mystery of how party subs are created. At some point, the four of them make cat noises for a while. It's fun.
It's E3 week! Ashley is hosting the show this week with special guests Jenna Stoeber (Video Producer, Polygon) and Julia Lee (Site lead, The Rift Herald). Simone calls in from sunny L.A. and the girls discuss their most highly anticipated games as well as the Raccoon Drama that graced the internet.
Ashley mourns her PlayStation 4. Simone vents about Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze's water world. Chelsea reminds people of all the good that is Toejam and Earl. Allegra has thoughts about Detroit: Become Human
With Simone missing in action, the gang gets loopy. Ashley is still playing Destiny. Special guest Jenna is spreading the Fortnite love. Everyone has thoughts on the Met Gala. Piccolo Day is acknowledged. And most importantly, a new taste test to kick off the show.
A heated discussion on fruit butts opens this episode. Then your hosts try really, really hard (and succeed) to not spoil God of War, and Allegra talks about her game of the week: Jet Set Radio Future.
Thank you everyone who attended our first ever live show! We had such a good time 1) embarrassing ourselves in front of 500 people and 2) meeting all of you. It was great to put a face to the uh, faceless ears who we know have been with us for ALMOST A YEAR!!!!
We did something special at our first live show: we played March madness — yes in April — to figure out which video game character most deserved love. We even made a bracket and slides, which you can view along with the episode at...
This week, we debate which role each member of the show would have on a "Queer Eye" show for our listeners. Chelsea talks Ni no Kuni 2, Ashley is watching Friends in order for the first time and Simone explains what constitutes "French country decor". Also "indiepocalypse" is definitely a thing, and we discuss the rapidly changing indie game scene.
SHAMELESS PROMOTION: If you're going to PAX East, come watch The Polygon Show LIVE! Saturday, April 6th at 6PM! See you soon!
This week we're talking about Geguri and the Overwatch League, No Man's Sky coming to Xbox (and a controversial opinion from on ALLEGRA FRANK), and what the heck we should do at our live show at PAX East next week!
