Daytime Justice

Comedy >

Comedian Sharon Houston has worked on some daytime court TV shows as an associate producer and a producer. It's a crazy genre of TV! She lifts the robe on shows like Judge Joe Brown and other daytime court TV shows. The podcast also covers chats with Reality TV show producers, Reality TV show stars, judges, defense attorneys, investigative reporters, and more. So make yourself a cup of shitty office coffee and grab a chair that doesn't support your back whatsoever and join Sharon in her cubicle.

TV writer & podcaster Asterios Kokkinos talks Manswers, Nerdist, and a frivolous lawsuit brought on by a former creative collaborator & friend.

6/18/2018
More
Asterios got his start working on MadTV as a researcher and things went up from there! Then a former creative collaborator and he had a falling out. That guy then sued Asterios for 20mm dollars. It's a crazy story of how things can go bad even among comedians. We also touch on the Hardwick story early in the episode. So You Think You Wanna Work In TV? is an independently produced podcast. Alex Hooper roasted the judges on AGT. He talks about that choice & how he felt before, during, and after the filming.

6/11/2018
More
Alex Hooper was on Season 13 (the one airing right now) of AGT. He chose to do a character and roast the judges and it was very Kaufmanesque. I thought it was genius. Alex talks about what it was like getting booed by 3000 people, having Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks, and Mel B hate him while staying committed to that character, the feelings he had afterwards, and what he thought of what made it to air. Special tribute to Anthony Bourdain

6/8/2018
More
We're all in shock. Anthony Bourdain was the guy we all looked up to, admired, and wanted to be like. I chased after people who knew him or met him. Luckily, I was able to do two phoners with two people. Rico Gagliano of Dinner Party Download had him on his podcast. And my friend Bill Dawes worked out with him at an MMA studio in NYC. I love what they both had to say about Mr. Bourdain. You will, too. No music cues, no plugs. Just conversations.

Creative Director & Preditor Buzz Chatman talks MTV News and The Apprentice.

6/4/2018
More
Buzz Chatman is a Creative Director and Preditor (Producer/Editor). He got his start working at MTV News when they still had news and was there when MTV broke the news that Biggie Smalls had been shot. He was also an editor on The Apprentice for 4 seasons and we talk a lot about that. This is one of my favorite episodes! So You Think You Wanna Work In TV? is an independently produced podcast. Betsy Salkind, writer on the original Roseanne show.

5/31/2018
More
GUYS. Really cool story on how Betsy met Roseanne and the unconventional way she got to be a writer on the original show. The cancelation of this show AND the reason for it affects her because all re-runs were pulled. Writers sometimes survive on money from re-runs. We talk about what it was like working for Roseanne back in the day and what she was like then vs. what she's like now. The difference is STARK, ya'll. Episode 71 with Alex Hooper, one of the comics on Roast Battle!

2/17/2018
More
Alex Hooper is a great stand up comic and a beyond great roast battle comic. You definitely know him from the show. I thought it would be cool to upload a bonus episode with someone who was on the show after interviewing the guy who created it. You can pre-order his comedy album Hugs. Drugs. Pugs. on iTunes. Episode 68: Fashion Police Warm Up Comics Nina Manni & Teddy Margas Remember Joan Rivers

1/29/2018
More
This is probably one of the best episodes yet. First, I made a new show open! Since the show has evolved to chats about all types of reality programming I thought I could use a new show open. I love it and hope you do, too! This episode is amaze. I've listened to it three times already and I never do that. Nina Manni and Teddy Margas are stand up comics, writers, actors, and producers. They also did audience warm up on Fashion Police and the stories they tell about Joan are amazing. I...
