'Walking Papers' The best band you haven't heard of.

Duff McKagan played bass but there's way more to this band. Jeff Angells talent for storytelling combined with Ben Anderson's wonderful keys makes for a wonderful record that will keep you guessing where its going next. Their self titled debut record from 2013 and subsequent tour in support of it was a great surprise to those lucky to have experienced it. The follow up WP2 showed they where no one trick pony. Duff would ultimately have to leave the group on account of the Guns N' Roses reunion but the albums are certainly worth delving into.

Born out of a get together of veteran musicians playing a weekly slot at the Viper Room on Sunset strip. Duff McKagan and Matt Sorrum would spend their final years in the GN'R camp playing with Steve Jones (Sex Pistols) & John Taylor (Duran Duran) before landing a record deal. The project resulted in one album which we go through here and chart the bands story before its demise.

Put together by band members separately it wasn't a blockbuster in terms of sales. A farewell from the 'old' band, a contractual obligation or a way to keep the Guns brand relevant in the late 90'S? Stepping in to replace Izzy Stradlin at the band's zenith, Gilby Clarke jumped from club's to Rock's grandest stages seemingly over night. Gilby proved to be as reliable as they come surviving the gruelling Illusions tour. Gilby's solo efforts also really pack a punch and we take a look at his solo efforts from 1994's 'Pawnshop Guitars' to 2021's 'The Gospel Truth'. The album came at a very turbulent time for Duff coming off the long winded Illusions Tour.
