The voice, the epic live moments, the mystique. What makes Axl Rose so popular with multiple generations of rock fan's? Why is he Rocks greatest frontman?

Where did Axl Rose disappear to in those years from 1994 to 2000. This chapter of the Guns story has continued to fascinate die hard fans and the rock press for years. Was he working away in a studio night after night for years on end or did he simply need to pull away from the spotlight to save himself? We take a look at the record to try understand what happened to Axl Rose during this mysterious period of his career.

In the second part of our series on Slash we are joined by guitarist and music teacher Rob Ryan to discuss what makes Slash a guitar hero. Our conversation range from the influences, style and dissection of Slash's finest moments. Rob goes under the hat to tell us what Slash is actually doing on his iconic riffs and solos. Our conversation went into Slash as the face of the iconic Gibson brand, his legacy and influence of Slash on later generations.

In the first of this two part series we talk about the various projects Slash has been involved with over the years outside of GN'R, Snakepit & Velvet Revolver. From Movie soundtracks to solo guest spots we examine his best and most random collaborations over the years. We also discuss his collaboration with Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators.

Duff McKagan played bass but there's way more to this band. Jeff Angells talent for storytelling combined with Ben Anderson's wonderful keys makes for a wonderful record that will keep you guessing where its going next. Their self titled debut record from 2013 and subsequent tour in support of it was a great surprise to those lucky to have experienced it. The follow up WP2 showed they where no one trick pony. Duff would ultimately have to leave the group on account of the Guns N' Roses reunion but the albums are certainly worth delving into.

In 1998 Duff Mckagan was working on his second solo album when his record company informed him he was being dropped. Taking to the road to tour the material anyway Duff would create a new band 'Loaded'. A hard rock guitar driven sound fused with punk elements the band would release three records over its tenure. We take a look at the bands story.

Born out of a get together of veteran musicians playing a weekly slot at the Viper Room on Sunset strip. Duff McKagan and Matt Sorrum would spend their final years in the GN'R camp playing with Steve Jones (Sex Pistols) & John Taylor (Duran Duran) before landing a record deal. The project resulted in one album which we go through here and chart the bands story before its demise.

The live era disc was a double live album released in 1999. The album was a good representation of the bands powerful live sound. Put together by band members separately it wasn't a blockbuster in terms of sales. A farewell from the 'old' band, a contractual obligation or a way to keep the Guns brand relevant in the late 90'S? We discuss its backstory and reimagine a live album from the decades which followed the original release.

In the final part of our three part Use Your Illusion series we take a look at the longest trek in Rock, the Use Your Illusion World tour. Spanning two and a half years from 1991-1993 it was one of the most memorable tours any rock band would ever embark upon.

In 2015 Duff McKagan released a book titled 'How to be a Man'. Discussing everything from travel, ageing, relationships,music, literature and rekindling with Axl Rose it is both witty and observational. He also released a companion EP to accompany the book with Jerry Cantrell and Izzy stradlin onboard. We take a look at both here and discuss why its worth your time.

In the late 90's following the collapse of the band Axl Rose set out to rebuild Guns N'Roses with a new lineup. We take a look at the formation of this band, subsequent tours and the constant battle Axl fought to make the band relevant.

Stepping in to replace Izzy Stradlin at the band's zenith, Gilby Clarke jumped from club's to Rock's grandest stages seemingly over night. Gilby proved to be as reliable as they come surviving the gruelling Illusions tour. Gilby's solo efforts also really pack a punch and we take a look at his solo efforts from 1994's 'Pawnshop Guitars' to 2021's 'The Gospel Truth'. We discuss what tracks could have been for GN'R and also his tenure in the band to his exit in 1994. We also discuss our picks which we think are worthy of a listing on your playlist.

1993 saw the release of the first solo release from Duff McKagan. 'Believe in Me penned and played by Duff it also boasts an all star cast. The album came at a very turbulent time for Duff coming off the long winded Illusions Tour. Duff would go back out on the road to tour the album before pulling the plug due to his ongoing health problems. We discuss the story around the album.

West Arkeen songwriter and guitarist who was gone far too soon. West known to many Guns fans was the co-writer of various GN'R tracks. Hardcore fans are well aware of other gems he co-wrote with different Guns members like Crash Diet and Sentimental Movie. We discuss his part in the GN'R story, his band The Outpatience and his tragic death in the mid 90s.

Released in 2007 Slash's autobiography was highly anticipated as it was the first ever book from a band member to be released. It worked as both rock memoir and first hand account of the band's history. Slash aimed to set the record straight at the time regarding the demise of GN'R. Did it get us any closer to understanding the man beneath the top hat? All these years later how does it stack up against the other member's books? We discuss.
