3/7/2024
Doctor John Urse talks about : Tennis elbow, medically known as lateral epicondylitis, is a common condition characterized by pain and inflammation in the tendons that connect the forearm muscles to the outside of the elbow. This injury often occurs due to repetitive motions or overuse of the arm, such as those seen in tennis players, hence the name. Treatment options for tennis elbow vary depending on the severity of the condition but typically include rest, ice therapy, and over-the-counter pain relievers to alleviate discomfort. Physical therapy exercises and techniques can help strengthen the affected muscles and improve flexibility. In more severe cases, corticosteroid injections or surgery may be considered to relieve pain and restore function. Additionally, using proper equipment and techniques during physical activities can help prevent the onset of tennis elbow.
