Adding insult to injury, her male superiors dismiss her, perpetuating a culture where female officers are an afterthought. But when an American resident disappears while hiking in the Baja desert with friends, Julia's unique blend of skills and fluency in English thrusts her into the heart of a gripping, high-profile case. As the search intensifies, Julia's instincts scream that something far more sinister lurks beneath the surface. Determined to unravel the truth, she must navigate a labyrinth of deceit and danger, drawing upon her intellect and training to decipher fact from fiction.
