On February 27, 2021, Anna was assaulted by a patient in the ED. Despite the unprovoked attack being caught on camera, and a long history of assault on other ED staff, the patient remained free. The same patient now has almost 50 separate assault charges but still frequents the ED as a free woman. In this episode, we will discuss the incident and what lessons there are to learn from the event. This episode may piss you off, but let it serve as a reminder that we must constantly advocate for ED nurse safety and bring criminal charges against patients who commit violence against nurses.
