Instead of breastfeeding her newborn, a 21-year-old Babette created a “formula” of canned Pet Evaporated Milk and Karo Syrup at the recommendation of her mother. It’s a move she regrets and one that she feels impacted her daughter’s palate and health. Chef Babette has transitioned on many levels having suffered from eczema and asthma, both of which were arrested after she changed to a strict vegan diet and a routine of rigorous fitness training the Spring of 1990.
