Living among twenty-five hospice dogs has given Jeff experience and hands-on knowledge you can’t find in a book. Jeff lives in Southern New Jersey with Michele and their pack of furry kids. Jeff shares some of the stories of the wonderful dogs at Monkey's House as well as the many ways that they care for these lovely dogs. Love, attention, medical treatment and surgeries (some by the wonderful Dr. Judy Morgan) and a number of therapies including nutritional therapy, give these dogs the best rest of their lives they can have. BOOK DESCRIPTION: How sad it would have been had Cole disappeared into that dark room in the back of the shelter, alone and frightened, as if he never existed. This is often the fate of dogs afflicted with medical issues. Cole, a senior dog with cancer, was discarded by his owner, much like throwing away an old pair of shoes. In 2015, Michele and Jeff Allen said enough is enough and started Monkey’s House a Dog Hospice & Sanctuary. Celebrating the beauty each dog has to offer, they have welcomed over 100 hospice dogs into their home. Thankfully, Cole was rescued by Monkey’s House and experienced his final chapter of life filled with dignity and love. This book highlights 37 of the dogs that have called Monkey’s House home. Share in their journeys, laugh at their crazy antics, and shed a few tears while witnessing miracles of transformation. Rejoice along with these dogs, knowing they experienced the greatest gift of all, the healing power of love. The Allens and Best Chapter Publishing are donating a portion of the proceeds from Where Dogs Go to LIVE to Monkey’s House a Dog Hospice & Sanctuary, a nonprofit organization.

Dr. Chaudhary shares how coordinating healing of the mind with the gut, from the ancient science of Ayurveda can help immediately reap the harvest of a happier and more fulfilled year. Also, The Wall Street Journal ran an article reporting on two new studies showing gut bacteria is linked to depression. What modern medicine is now discovering about this connection, ancient medicine has known for centuries, and Dr. Kulreet Chaudhary can share with your audience how to get your mind-gut connection in sync for the spring. Would you like to schedule an interview Dr. Kulreet Chaudhary? More details: Dr. Kulreet Chaudhary, MD, author of “The Prime” says depression isn’t just a mind game, but very much a gut game too and new research is validating what ancient medicine has been focused on for centuries. Two new studies published in the journal Nature Communications found a link between several types of bacteria in the gut and depressive symptoms. Scientists are exploring whether some gut bacteria produce or consume mood-regulating chemicals, such as serotonin, or chemicals that cause inflammation in the body, which research has linked to depressive symptoms. Dr. Chaudhary is an internationally recognized expert in the ancient practice of Ayurvedic medicine (pronounced eye-yur-vayda and translated to “knowledge of life”). She says, in Ayurveda medicine, the gut and brain are one functional unit and the fastest way to shift mood is by changing diet, improving gut health and shifting your microbiome. When the gut-brain connection is disrupted—no matter what else you may add to boost your mood—you’re fighting an uphill battle. Dr. Chaudhary says without addressing gut health, you can spend years searching for mental health solutions with limited or unproductive results.
