Million Reasons Run

Get comfortable, because there are so many amazing things happening in the 10th and final episode of the Raising Kindness podcast. First, we volunteered to participate in the Million Reasons Run. This run/walk event is put on by the SickKids Foundation, with proceeds going to the participant's local children's hospital. At the end of this episode, Becki and Bennett reflect back on the 10 episodes that made up the Raising Kindness podcast season. Listen in as they talk about how the podcast came to be, their favourite moments, lessons learned, and, of course, they share some laughs.

Teddy Bears Anonymous

Being sick and going to the hospital can be a scary scenario for anyone, especially young children. Thanks to Regina’s Luke Lawrence for creating an amazing program in memory of his daughter, called Teddy Bears Anonymous, a hospital trip for a child now is a bit more comforting. Hear how the program provides children with a new teddy bear friend to help ease their fears. These special factory-sealed bears have touched so many hearts. Regina Floral Conservatory

A room filled with beautiful flowers, lush greenery with the sounds of water features well in a floral scented humid warm environment… I could be describing a far away tropical environment however I’m talking about the floral conservatory talked away in Regina. this beautiful environment is exclusively run by a committed group of talented volunteers. Colbey, Bennett and myself had a unique volunteer opportunity helping Put together plants to be sold as a fundraiser for the floral conservatory. Sofia House

Unfortunately, domestic violence is a lived experience for some women and children within our communities. Luckily, we have safe resources, like the Sofia House, a second-stage shelter for women and children who are fleeing domestic violence. Bennett, Danica and I had an opportunity to spend some time with the Sofia House children’s group. It truly was another experience of kids just being kids regardless of their life circumstances. Snow Angels

It’s hard to think of a Saskatchewan winter without snow. To many people, the cold and snow represent such fun winter activities as ice fishing, building a snow fort or playing hockey with your buddies on the street. Snow, however, can also represent a challenging time for people with mobility challenges, vision loss or other disabilities. Join us for this snowy episode where we learn more about a new program called Snow Angels. Grab a shovel, toque and a warm winter jacket because, after listening to this episode, you are going to want to complete the Kindness Challenge and become a Snow Angel too.
