So Jesus derailed my Advent Challenge... 3rd Week 2018

Have you ever had an idea to improve yourself? Well, that’s what this Advent has been about: self improvement. Then Jesus issued an invitation to me, a totally unexpected invitation.

Advent Challenge 2018 - Week TWO

Just wanted you to know that I love you! Thanks for listening :)

Advent Challenge 2018 - Week ONE

Welcome to Week One of the Advent Challenge, a simple way to get closer to Jesus this season. As I sat with this topic, I thought I would just write a little bit and be done with it and go onto something else. Um, that’s not what happened. As I prepared for this podcast I was reminded of some bigger truths, which I am excited to share with you!

Do You Need an Advent Challenge?

Hi hi! The Christmas season is upon us. If you are like me, you are busy. Very busy. Or at least that's what I tell myself. Have you ever had Christmas Eve arrive and realize that you had not really ENTERED into the true reason for the holiday season? That has happened to me, more than once. Too often. This year I am issuing an Advent Challenge to myself, and you! Please join in, engage this season, and share the message! Love you, Lori

Sugar. Do you ever eat too much?

Most of my life has been spent wrestling with cookies and cakes and ice cream and chips and dips. It is like I have been in a love/hate relationship with “bad foods” but I couldn’t seem to break up with them. They always looked so GOOD, even though I knew they made me feel like crap. What kind of a hold did they have on me? In today’s episode, I take a deeper look at the WHY. What is going on within this ol’ body that makes it almost impossible to make good food choices. Once we...

Is Sugar Addiction A Real Thing?

Hi Hi! My entire focus of my life is freedom in Christ. I believe that’s why you and I were created: so we could fulfill HIS mission for us. In today’s show I will bring you inside my very private thought life. As you listen, I invite you to think about your own relationship with certain foods and how addiction keeps us from our best self. Hope you love it, Lori

"Why are you going after the low hanging fruit?"

Oh my stars. So, a child of mine made me a bit crazy the other day. If she would just follow my way I knew she would have a perfect life. God used that situation to teach this mama a lesson.

My Victorian Home

Have you ever wondered how to love and give your heart to others without getting drained? I struggled to find that balance for years. Then I sought counsel and was able to structure my inner world in a way that gave me clear boundaries. I am not exaggerating when I say this changed my life. Let me know your thoughts!! Love, Lori Doerneman PS if you really love this, share it with those in your inner home :)

Will the Catholic Church Survive? ft. Russ!

Please share this episode with a priest friend or seminarian!! Here’s the deal. Take authority, in the name of Jesus, over Satan. “I write to you, young men, because you are strong and the word of God remains in you, and you have conquered the evil one.” 1 John 2:14c Stand firm. Use His Power. Be who you were called to be. “For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7 Be honest with any struggles. Get help when help is...

The Prodigal God

The other day I asked my son Matthew if I could share the story of The Prodigal God with him. He said yes... It was more like... 'surrre mom' I think he yawned, too. After I got done telling him this story, he looked at me and said, “Wow, that was not at all what I expected. Mom, tell your listeners that this story is worth their time.” Listeners, this story is worth your time! If you love it please share it with TWO friends (or like 200 if you're into it)

Together We Are Stronger

Hi Hi, This year has been... oh how should I say this... It's been amazing. My relationship with my God has been completely and utterly reinvigorated! My eyes are 51 years old and I need reading glasses to see my phone screen but I have a received new vision in HIM. I share today about Satan and the US vs THEM mentality of Christianity. Oh. My. Stars. Love you, Lori

My New Conversion

Hello there! I've been Catholic for... ever. But earlier this year I realized that I had a lot of mistrust of God the Father. That troubled me and so I prayed to Jesus, asking Him to show me the Love of His Father. My prayer was answered BIG-TIME and I am grateful, so very grateful. I have a hunch that I might not be the only one out there who struggled with this. Please let me know your thoughts! In CHRIST, Lori

The Transforming Power of Radical Love

Hello Dearest Listener, I have been ABSOLUTELY LOVING getting to know this world of podcasting. I hope you are enjoying this as much as I am. Today's episode is split it into two parts. Introducing... The Daughter Dare (2018)

“So, what’s easier, raising girls or boys?” That question always makes me chuckle. As a mother of five sons and three daughters, I can say with total confidence that females and males handle LIFE differently. I created a shorter video course called The Daughter Dare for all mothers out there who have daughters that roll their eyes or constantly stomp off to their room. Please find more information at under the FREE RESOURCES tab.

Your Daughter Deserves the BEST Version of You

I am alone on this episode! Usually I have Eric sitting in the background yelling things every now and then but he is gone... for a little bit. This episode is all about doing those things that you need so that you can be your best self. I want to tackle a major issue I keep hearing from mothers: I don't even have time to think, let alone do something for myself! As a woman, we get this misunderstanding of motherhood. We think it’s martyrdom. We feel like it’s a competition to get the most...

The Whole Story - Eric's Side

Today, Lori and Eric switch roles after Episode 3! It's Lori's turn to grill (interview) her 25 year old son on his path that lead towards creating The Parenting Dare. Never once did Lori think she would be business partners with her son, she was only ever concerned with one role: mother. Yes, Lori and Eric are the co-creators but they each have a unique journey that lead them The Parenting Dare. It's been so fun thinking back on what lead up to initial release last September! Looking for...

The Whole Story - Lori's Side

Today, Eric interviews Lori on what lead her down the path of life to create The Parenting Dare. Hmmm... interview is a strong word. Let's say he just guides the conversation. Yes. Lori and Eric are the co-creators but they each have a unique journey that lead them to The Parenting Dare. It's been so fun thinking back on what lead up to initial release last September! "Mom, You Should Start a Podcast"

Here we go! Episode 1. Eric is always pushing me and challenging me in new ways but this.... starting an actual podcast.... has been one of my most uncomfortable ones. He never stopped poking and prodding, similar to when he wanted me to start a blog. And I LOVE my blog. So I guess this is one small step for- who am I kidding. No. This is straight up just ONE GIANT LEAP for this mommy-of-8. Cannot wait to see where this goes! Don't forget to check out the blog side of this venture at...
