2021 Wrapped Special: Bollywood Music In The Year Gone By

It has been a truly different year; that could well be split up into two halves. The phase leading upto June-July and then onwards. Lot of good content has come up on OTT platforms and the biggest crowd-puller from Bollywood once theaters opened up was Rohit Shetty's 'Sooryavanshi' that featured his Cop Universe as we got to see 'Simmba' & 'Singam' make their presence felt !
As far as Bollywood Music goes, there has been a pleasant, gradual trend seen in the re-emergence of OST's. The last 3-4 months of the year have given us some beautiful albums that have a beautiful mix of melodies & fast paced songs!
There have been some interesting trends seen in Bollywood Music in the past one year with prominent artists like Arijit Singh, Amit Trivedi, Sonu Nigam & Udit Narayan starting their own music labels, thus heralding a culture of independent music that could gain lot prominence in the coming year!
For all the listeners, this musical is going to take you down a beautiful journey; right from 'Shershaah', 'Mimi', 'Atrangi Re' , 'Sooryavanshi' to '83' & 'Radhe Shyam' we have got every album covered in a rather unique, interesting connect to our podcast MMM as we celebrate crossing the outstanding achievement of crossing 1,00,000 plays/streams in early December, 2021!

We live in times where an Artist is boycotted due to his nationality. A sad phenomenon that has hit Bollywood buffs really hard in the past few years in a time when Bollywood Music is going through a rather weird phase in the past 4-5 years; lacking originality to a large extent.
This special musical episode from 'Movies, Music & Memories' will take all the listeners down time to a decade of Bollywood Music from about 2004/2005 until 2015 when we all got to hear some really soulful, serene, pleasant melodies from various singers including the ones from across the border.
An amazing voice who hasn't been utilized to his fullest by Bollywood is Atif Aslam. This is an episode dedicated to one of my favorite singers in Hindi Film Music!
For those who are aware of his work its going to be a really pleasant experience listening to this curated playlist and for those haven't heard much of Atif's soulful voice this would be a really good way to discover his voice!
