28: Halloween (2018)

It's October so that can only mean one thing on a movie podcast - HORROR MOVIES! So we've grabbed our inside-out William Shatner masks and sharpened our kitchen knives for discussion and sequel pitching for 2018's sequel/retcon Halloween, starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Judy Greer, and directed by David Gordon Green, just in time for the release of the real life sequel, HALLOWEEN KILLS (2021) - how do ours match up? Expect some graphic deaths, discussion of child murder, descriptions of...

SPoilercast: No Time To Die (2021)

!!!SPOILER ALERT!!! Sound the special episode alarm, and come and listen to our very first Sequel Pitch Spoilercast (or SPoilercast, if you will)! Ross, Drew and returning very special guest Jordan King (@JordanMBKing) have all seen Daniel Craig's final outing as James Bond in No Time To Die, and basically wanted an excuse to have a sit down and discuss the movie! As noted at the top, this is a full spoilers discussion/review, so if you care in any way about seeing this movie without...

27: Spectre (2015)

With No Time To Die just hitting our screens, it's time to dust off your dinner jackets, load your Walther PPKs, and step into the shoes of an imperialist British institution trying to exist in the modern world, as we pitch sequels for the 2015 James Bond movie, Spectre, starring Daniel Craig and directed again by Sam Mendes. Expect discussion of who should be the next Bond, explosions, gun fights, surprise heel turns, and... well, it's James Bond, you know what to expect.

26: E.T. The Extra Terrestrial (1982)

Grab a bag of Reese's Pieces, stick a lightbulb under your shirt and get ready for some ugly crying - this week Ross and very special guest judge Alex Gilston (@PresenterAlex) lead our review of Steven Spielberg's 1982 masterpiece, E.T. Expect powdered turds, E.T. The Love Guru, and lots of exposition through posters in bedrooms.

25: Step Brothers (2008)

Make some extra room for activities, get some nuts on a drum set, and crash an expensive boat, because this week Andy Henry leads the review and hears our Sequel Pitches for 2008's screwball comedy Step Brothers, directed by Adam McKay and starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. Expect: karaoke, Catalina island, The Rock AND Kevin Hart this time, and non-movie quality props.

24: Space Jam (1996)

Lace up your Jordans and... crunch on a carrot? Have a hilarious cartoon pratfall? Anyway, this time Matt hosts the review and pitches for our sequels to 1996's classic live action-animation hybrid sports movie, Space Jam, starring Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny. Expect The Rock to show up again, because of course he does, a few similarities to the new sequel that hadn't even come out when we recorded this, and a total lack of moral fibre.

23: Suicide Squad (2016)

Choose your theme song, get a bomb in your neck and come join this band of lovable miscreants as we discuss and pitch sequels for David Ayer's 2016 movie, Suicide Squad. Expect DC deep cuts, The Gotham Pentagon, and... some spirited debate.

22: Kingsman The Golden Circle (2017)

Slip on your hidden blade Oxfords (not brogues), and get ready to jet off in style as Matt Rushton hosts our episode on 2017's Kingsman The Golden Circle, starring Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Pedro Pascal, Halle Berry, Jeff Bridges and Channing Tatum. Expect The Rock to show up (of course), a direct lift of Hugh Grant's villain from Paddington 2, and an even more shamelessly direct rip off of Moonraker... but we suppose that's pretty fitting.

21: A Star is Born (2018)

ANNOUNCEMENT: After this episode, we've decided to change our schedule to release episodes every two weeks. We've put a little announcement at the beginning of this episode where you can hear more, but rest assured we are not going away! We're in the deep end, watch as we dive in with Drew hosting for our discussion of 2018's remake of a remake of a 1937 movie; 2018's A Star is Born, starring Lady Gaga alongside the project's writer, producer and director Bradley Cooper. CW: This is...

20: Moana (2016)

We have headed to the Pacific for this week's episode, as Ross hosts for one of his all time favourite films; 2016's Moana from Disney Animation, directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, starring Auliʻi Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson, and with songs from In The Heights' Lin Manuel Miranda. Expect the usual silliness, but also four white men from England doing their best to talk about the Disney corporation and representation and cultural appropriation, we hope that we've made it clear that...

19: The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017)

This episode Andy's front and centre as we review and pitch sequels for The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017), starring Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson. Expect classic revenge stories, jailbreaks, and a good amount of discussion about Gary Oldman's accent!

18: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)

This week we are joined by our very first guest, film journalist Jordan King! Jordan takes the role of guest judge, leading the discussion and choosing the winning pitch for the sequel for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008). Starring Harrison Ford, Karen Allen, Cate Blanchett and Shia LaBeouf. Expect globe trotting adventures, Viet Nam, red lines on maps, and some powerful ignoring of the existence of one particular character. You can find us on twitter...

17: Fast & Furious 8 (2017)

This week Matt "VikingXL" Rushton is back in the driving seat as we take life a quarter mile at a time reviewing and pitching sequels for 2017's Fast & Furious 8 (or The Fate of the Furious if you live in the states, or F8 elsewhere in the world). Starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham and Charlize Theron, and directed by F. Gary Gray. Expect, and we're not joking, 10,000 mile car chases, significant foreshadowing of a meteor heading towards Earth, and Brendan Fraser showing...

16: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011)

This week, Drew hosts as we all hop on our Nimbus 2000s and fly off to the fantasy world of the UK in the 1990s as we review and pitch sequels for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and many, many other British actors. Expect evil wizards created by name generator, wandering off whilst on work experience at Shepperton Studios, and you'll find out which of us actually appears in a Harry Potter movie!

15: A Quiet Place (2018)

This week, Andy's back in the hosting seat as the gang tiptoe around John Krasinski's 2018 Sci-Fi horror thriller family drama, A Quiet Place, starring husband and wife team Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. Expect Jake Gyllenhaal to show up (in a pitch, not on the show), many many babies in peril, and the tentative steps to broadening the Sequel Pitch Cinematic Universe!

14: Hot Fuzz (2007)

Strap on your great big bushy beards, grab your notepads and pencils and watch out for farmers and their mums - this week Matt Rushton hosts discussion and pitches for 2007's British action comedy Hot Fuzz, starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, directed by Edgar Wright. Expect OTT action on London streets, Daniel Craig getting pretty shifty, some potentially financially ruinous social commentary, and... cloning? Really, is that right? Ok yeah, and cloning.

13: Role Models (2008)

This episode, Andy is back in the hosting chair leading the discussion and taking pitches for sequels to the 2008 Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott comedy, Role Models. Expect a lot of talk about the nature of how comedy ages, nostalgia, parenting, LARPING, hot dog innuendo, vikings, airport bombs and silly voices in coffee shops

12: Commando (1985)

This week, Ross is in charge as we review and pitch sequel ideas for the 1985 Arnold Schwarzenegger action extravaganza, Commando. Expect corny one-liners, carnage and destruction, and the age-old question; just what is it that makes a movie a 'classic', and does Commando qualify? All of this and more on this week's explosive episode of Sequel Pitch! Content warning: This episode contains an outrageous amount of involuntary Arnie impressions, ranging from 'ok' to 'bloody awful'. You...

11: Inside Out (2015)

This week, Drew hosts our most wholesome episode yet, as we pitch the 2015 Disney & Pixar family-friendly heart warmer, Inside Out. Expect some journeys down memory lane, moral lessons galore, and some off-the-bat accidental swearing that generates a bit of a family-unfriendly running gag

10: Aquaman (2018)

This week, Matt returns as host to get us all on the Zack Snyder hype-train (ok yes we're five weeks late for the Snyder cut, but oh well), as we review and pitch sequels for 2018's Aquaman, directed by James Wan, and starring Jason Momoa and Amber Heard. Listen in for the 'I love you' heard around the world, several 15 minute fight scenes, and Aquaman going a little bit Daenerys Targaryen up in here.
