CJ Xander “My next goal would be to find more people and train them, join the industry.” - CJ Xander. CJ Xander has been a motion graphics artist for over 10 years now. Starting off in 2007, ever since he got an internet connection, he’s scaled greater heights today. He has worked for many video game companies such as Riot Games and created animation for the popular online game League of Legends. Listen in as Xander joins me in this episode of Vivid Talks! Xander was introduced to this field through a friend. He got interested in a website that was doing text transitions and wanted to do something similar. He went on to pursue his passion for the same and got into Riot Games eventually. His career has taken a plunge ever since. His main target is to master the login-type of motion graphics he’s been doing for a long time. One of the most demanding projects he undertook took him 3 months to complete. When asked about the hardware requirements for doing things so complicated, Shawn says that the most important things you need for your rig are the CPU and a good RAM; GPU is secondary. Anthony Possobon “My advice to anyone that’s trying to get into the video game company is to look at the roles that they put upon on the website, find which of those roles you are interested in, and then build your portfolio, make artwork that represents the role.”- Anthony Possobon I am so excited to introduce to you this episode of the Vivid Vision podcast. Anthony Possobon aka Mr. Pasta Bomb, who worked previously as the Creative Director for League of Legends with Riot Games joins me today! Anthony specializes in animation, motion graphics, and storytelling. To anyone wanting to get into the video gaming industry, Anthony could be just the right person to hear from! It was during his high school days that he found his fun place was video games. He got his first job as a temp in Riot games and has done a great bit in improving their games and videos. Anthony says that to get into a gaming company, you probably only need a good portfolio of work. It doesn’t matter if you did not go into college. But if you wish to get into the legal team, you may need a degree. That is a totally different story. He advises on using the available tools to your advantage and creating your portfolio. While applying for a job, make sure to tweak your portfolio and samples to cater to the job requirements. Having a broad scope of interests is good, but being more specific is key. Mike Roshuk “If you have to do something that you love for work, then suddenly it’s not fun anymore.”- Mike Roshuk. It's King Chris “It’s not about how it looks for you, like, why you’re doing it, it just matters that it looks good on camera.” - It's King Chris. Christian aka It's King Chris is an avid content creator who posts 3 times a day to keep his audience engaged and connected! He started video editing when he was 14 or 15 and eventually got into filmmaking to pursue his love. Christian shares how content creation was not something he thought of as a profession initially and that it was purely the passion for doing it that drove him forward every day. It was TikTok that brought Christian that joy of making videos again. He had posted a video with relationship advice, playing as Naruto on the platform. Syed Rizvi “When a community comes together, and when people just manage to collaborate in the right way, then we see more smiles in the world.”- Syed Rizvi In this episode of Vivid Talks, I am joined by Syed Rizvi, an educator and the Founder of Rev Med, a company that provides online medical education for healthcare students. Syed has an amazing group of artists, professors, and content marketers, who together as a team, help create notable content to learn from! They have also released a much-lauded book on COVID, called “COVID-19:The Reason Why The Earth Stood Still in 2020”. It was when Syed was in an anatomy class, and he found that all the students were struggling with what the professor was teaching that he thought to himself, “Maybe I can teach this better.” Wanting to bring some positive change, Syed started taking the same lessons in his unique way to 4 different students in his class, and they absolutely loved it! The audience has incredibly increased since then. From 5, 6, 8, and10 students to the whole class and then his professors even, people were amazed at his ability to take classes so well! One girl at the back of the class recorded the videos and asked him if she could put them on YouTube. The audience this gathered was so massive that he became a mini viral YouTube sensation! Syed has today talked about criticism, about YouTube as a University, and his inspiration in life. He says, “I get the inspiration from legends; they teach in a way that’s organic, I recreate what they do.” He wants to entertain people while also giving them quick little pockets of information, and while they scroll to view houses, beauty, wellness, health, and all that stuff, he adds in a little bit of education to the process!
