Opening in a clutch of deftly persuasive percussive strikes, "Meek" quickly begins its abyssal descent into the aural compound where transient images conjure of brutalist power-stations and industrial libraries; giant stone megaliths speaking in the alien tongues of machines that sound as if they might have come from a thousand years ago or a thousand years ahead … one thing is sure; this is not the promised land.

Winner of West Australia Music SOTY 2018 Experimental Category 'The One' was not so carefully imagined as a concept, you might rather call it a random act of rebellion; a pure reactionary response to an independent performance by some of Intenso's close contemporaries.

Track one and the first single from our new album is the title track “They Fed the Gryphon With Their Limbs”. Starting with sample loop that’s doubled by guitar, it creates its own momentum; an action which in peaks and gullies moves inexorably forward and back on itself again before coming to rest in a primordial trough.

"Blood Shrinks Everything" sees a slowing of the heart rate from vintage Intenso into more controlled, moody even movements and vibrations. Sizzling modular synth tones lead us down dimly lit, unknowable sonic corridors which quickly become unstable and fragment exponentially. The Intenso formula is always in flux, the three piece line-up remains the same and the direction, blood simple.

Track 'Dell' begins along a dimly lit hallway; naked light bulbs flicker on and off in the murky substance; ambling cautiously into the openness.....the faint glow of the traffic lights in the distance, time in reverse, the amber glow turning backwards to green, a crystallized light. GO! Uncertainty turns to purpose like a key turning in a lock, all the gears moving into place; all the elements fall into a forward momentum straight like an arrow travelling with the assurance of a sleepwalker.

Intenso have been working the circuit of 'less conventional' sound making and pushing the boundaries of musical composition and approach around the traps of Perth for some time now.
