Lloyd Harrison moved from a career in the City of London to a new career in the fields of Hertfordshire. Now, along with his wife Nicola, he runs Tewin Greens, a two acre market garden which sits close to the River Mimram at Tewinbury Farm, just outside Welwyn Garden City. Mix Mornings donned wellies to go out and meet Lloyd as he shared how he has grown the business over the last five years into a community focused market garden supplying veg boxes and local restaurants with his ever-expanding range of produce.

Jonathan Aves, CEO and Josie Randall, Special Days Team Leader from the Willow Foundation came into the Mix Mornings studio to tell us all about The Willow Foundation and the incredible work they do supporting young adults, aged 16 to 40, living with a life-threatening illness or life-limiting condition. The Foundation provides Special Days Out, Special Breaks, Special Days at Home and Special Treats and Jonathan and Josie tell us how they work with young adults, along with some of the challenges of running a local charity that has grown to become a national resource for young people. They also share how you can get involved in the work of the charity and how you can volunteer and support their work.

The Barn Theatre – hilarious musical celebration of the mating game!

Mix Mornings took the opportunity to go and catch up with the Director and the cast of the Barn Theatre's latest production - I love You, You're Perfect, Now Change - during rehearsals for this hilarious musical celebration of the mating game. The cast take on the truths and myths behind that contemporary conundrum known as ‘the relationship’. They explore the journey from dating and waiting, to love and marriage and go on to reveal the agonies and triumphs of in-laws and new-borns, trips in the family car and the pick-up techniques of the geriatric set. The show is on from 2-10 May at the Barn Theatre in Welwyn Garden City with Tickets available from the Barn Theatre's website.

Ken Wright – St Albans Clockateer

Ken Wright is a local Clockateer - one of the group of volunteers who help keep the St Albans Clock Tower open for visitors during the summer months, The Clock Tower is a Grade I listed belfry completed in 1405. It claims to be the only remaining medieval town belfry in England. Ken came into the Mix 92.6 studios to tell us all about the Clock Tower and how you can visit, learn about its fascinating history and enjoy the spectacular views from the top.
