Pulse Check on the Candidates: Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

5/24/2023
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is one of the few Democrats who have decided to mount a primary challenge to President Joseph Biden in the 2024 election. He has espoused conspiracy theories about childhood vaccinations, the use of fluoride in water purification, and COVID-19. At the same time, he pushes for bonafide Democratic policies including protecting the environment and limiting special interest involvement in government. His beliefs may help him draw an interesting mish-mash of progressives disappointed in President Biden and conservatives still upset about COVID-19 policies. Matthew Handley breaks down his policies and their consequences in this special series of the FLATLINING Podcast. He takes a pulse check on Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Subscribe to the FLATLINING Podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, the iHeartRadio app, Amazon Music, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Pandora, TuneIn, and Audible. This is a public episode. Ep. 38 - What the ruling on TMA 2 means for providers

2/8/2023
This week, Judge Jeremy Kernodle ruled against the Department of Health and Human Services (again) in a lawsuit surrounding the No Surprises Act. The Texas Medical Association and others were plaintiffs in the case and had previously taken the Biden Administration to court over HHS’ creation of the Interim Final Rule. Last year, Judge Kernodle ruled that HHS had not followed proper procedure and effectively tried to re-write the No Surprises Act with their Interim Final Rule. In August 2022, HHS issued a new Final Rule that the Texas Medical Association alleged had the same intent and effect as the original Interim Final Rule. Judge Kernodle agreed.
