According to the American Kidney Fund (AKF), there are 30 million Americans living with kidney disease. My husband was one of them, until he died in April. June 21st, would have been his 43rd birthday. AKF provided assistance for us when he became unable to work. The VA and Social Security didn't help us, but AKF did.
