Episode 2687: GODWARD/THE PRODIGAL STEPS by Larry McClure

5/25/2023
Godward / The Prodigal Steps: Spiritual Wisdom and Understanding Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding Proverbs 3:13 By: Larry D. McClure From a young age, Larry D. McClure's life was rife with tragedy following the deaths of his cousins, neighbor, father, and twin brother. This series of unfortunate events set him on a course to find answers as to why his life was filled with so much pain. Godward / The Prodigal Steps compiles the answers Mr. McClure found to this burning question over a 40-year period. Though originally not intended to be published, after many years of research and study, Mr. McClure came to realize that others could benefit from this powerful and lifechanging experience. Using the Bible as the foundation for his research, Mr. McClure draws upon other sources, such as the readings of Edgar Cayce, the Gospel of Thomas, The Law of One: The Ra Material, and the Unity Metaphysical Bible Dictionary, delving deeper into the "how" and "why" things happen in our lives. About the Author Larry D. McClure is just an ordinary man with an extraordinary God. Having been born in poverty, he had the pleasure of sharing the company of others from all walks of life, be it rich or poor, black or white, young or old, male or female, and he found through many conversations that each of us wants the same thing: to know the Truth. Many go their whole life never having found the answer. Through his research, Mr. McClure strives to help others to find answers and free them of their burdens, for it is only the Truth that sets us free. https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/godward-the-prodigal-steps-larry-d-mcclure/1142832264 http://godwardtheprodigalsteps.com/ www.KingPagesPress.com http://www.bluefunkbroadcasting.com/root/twia/52523kpp1.mp3

Episode 2686: ANGEL KISSES by Leilani Faber

5/25/2023
Angel Kisses by Leilani FaberLeilani Faber wrote this children's book as a college class assignment in 1982. The typed manuscript followed her through many moves over four decades until it was found in a box in 2018. She finally found an illustrator and worked closely with him to create this wonderful story. This is a labor of love written especially for all our red-haired, freckle faced, beauties. From a very young age, Leilani knew she wanted to be an author. She was a voracious reader from the age of three and loved being transported to other realities within the pages of a book. The first piece that she was paid for was also created in the same class that Angel Kisses came from. It was a surreal short story called “Another Chance” that shows how a wish for another chance could turn out much worse. It wasn’t until 2016 that her second work came out. It is an autobiography that chronicles the span of years that covers her brief foray into the world of methamphetamine and how she survived and came out on the other side. She later wrote an epilogue to her autobiography and published the 2nd edition in 2022. Over the years, her work life has changed from fast food worker at the age of 15 to Better Help Therapist at the age of 60. She has always had a “side hustle” and doesn’t know how to work a 40 hour per week job. She has owned several businesses, pursued higher education, and built a family that includes a son, Logan, now 29; a daughter, Michaela, 25; and three grandchildren, Bentley, five, Peyton, four and Nova two years old. She lives very close to her family in Southeast Washington state, works as a Clinical Supervisor of a regional Assertive Community Treatment program in Umatilla County Oregon, and does therapy nights and weekends on the Better Help platform. Her goal is to travel the world, continue to provide therapy and write psychological thrillers while gazing out an Air B&B window at a gorgeous beach. https://www.amazon.com/Angel-Kisses-Leilai-Faber/dp/B0BVTRNCJ2/ref=sr_1_1?crid=24C6SNMB3HTO8&keywords=Leilani+Faber&qid=1684960417&s=books&sprefix=leilani+faber%2Cstripbooks%2C505&sr=1-1 http://www.urlinkpublishing.com http://www.bluefunkbroadcasting.com/root/twia/52523faberurl.mp3

Episode 2683: AT MIDNIGHT I WILL RISE by David Jenkins

5/25/2023
AT MIDNIGHT I WILL RISE by David Jenkins This is the fifth book that our Father has had me write. This too, does reveal more secrets that have been since the foundation of the world. Through this book and the others, we give an understanding of who our Father is, what He is doing and why He is doing what He is doing. Along with that, we will be showing how we are spiritually reigning with Christ now. We show how it is now just as the days of Noah. We show a divine understanding of the ten commandments. We will once again, reveal the secret of the forbidden fruit. We will be showing what the one sin of the world is and yes, this will take you by surprise. We will finally be understanding what it means to hear, “let the dead bury the dead”, In the chapter called the walking dead. We will also be learning how the scriptures are coming to life, as we are living today. And finally, this book concludes all that our Father had me put in the first book. This is the book that wraps all that He introduced to me back in 2015, or better said, connects all the dots. I am a simple, ordinary, average man that has truly put all my trust into our Father and the King James Version of the Bible. At no time, since our Father baptized me with the Holy Ghost in 2016, have I sought any knowledge of the Bible and or the Father by any other means. Our Father has taught me how to listen to Him and not my imagination thinking that He can be found any other than the Bible. Now because time is closing in on us, I share this knowledge with the world. https://davidofpsalm89.com/ https://www.amazon.com/AT-MIDNIGHT-I-WILL-RISE-ebook/dp/B0BQJQNCF5/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3C21Z10XJ2W7A&keywords=at+midnight+i+will+rise+by+david+jenkins&qid=1675159342&sprefix=at+midnight+i+will+risse+%2Caps%2C359&sr=8-1 https://www.urlinkpublishing.com/ http://www.bluefunkbroadcasting.com/root/twia/52523jenkinsurl.mp3

Episode 2678: TORT LAW AND HOW IT'S TIED TO OUR CULTURE by M. Stuart Madden, ESQ

5/11/2023
Tort Law and How It's Tied to Our Culture by M. Stuart Madden, ESQ. Tort Law & How It's Tied to Our Culture is a socio-legal history of the norms, customs, and eventual private laws for wrongs, or Tort. Oliver Wendel Holmes described law as "a grand anthropological document." This can be said with even greater force of Tort Law, the most dynamic field within the Common Law. Whether in the form of an unwritten lesson of a myth or folktales, or rendered as written law, Tort Law reflects a culture's superego, a guide to what individuals might forego doing in the interest of a community's safety, dignity and prosperity. The work provides an entertaining and scholarly tour of Tort Law from its beginnings in the unwritten oral traditions of folktale and myth, through the ancient law codes of Mesopotamia and the cohering work of the Greeks and the codifications of the Romans and later Gothic groups, to early religious recitations of behavioral ethics. Separate treatment is afforded the vital role of the Common Law in an increasingly statutory age, exemplary or punitive damages, and the congruence between the application of tort-type remedies in the English-speaking Common Law nations and the significant number of Civil Code nations applying law more directly descended from Roman Law and the Napoleonic Code. M. Stuart Madden is Past Distinguished Professor of Law, Pace University School of Law. B.A., University of Pennsylvania (1971); M.A. (History), London School of Economics and Political Science (1972); J.D., Georgetown University Law Center (1976). Episode 2675: FORTY YEARS AT SAQUISH BEACH: OUR IMPOSSIBLE DREAM by Connie Matuzek

5/11/2023
Forty Years At Saquish Beach: Our Impossible Dream by Connie MatuzekHave you ever built, owned, rented or visited someone at a cottage on an ocean beach, a lake or somewhere off the beaten path? If you have, this story should let you relive many fond memories. If not, but if you have thought or dreamed about doing it, you have the chance to live some of the adventures. Building a cottage with no power tools or electricity was quite an experience. If you have done any casual or serious fishing, you should enjoy the two chapters that cover striped bass, bluefish, cod, flounder and other fish. These are based on forty years of personal experience and first-hand knowledge. They tell of how it was done, including the related what, when, where and why. The resulting fishing successes and dilemmas encountered are enlightening. Many of you have eaten shellfish and devoured lobsters. Few however have experienced how they are harvested. Some interesting encounters are discussed. Our pets have a chapter all to themselves. It covers their uniqueness and idiosyncrasies during their beach adventures. People that enjoy pets will relate to these encounters. If you enjoy nature or wildlife, there are chapters about each of these covering our many experiences and interactions with both. The chapter on GROWING UP relates to the beach activities and stories of our two daughters and four grandchildren. This is a chance to look back and enjoy some memories, or a chance to look ahead and anticipate what's in front of you. There are other interesting chapters relating to activities with our friends and the total Saquish environment. In all the chapters there are stories about specific instances that took place. A couple were life-threatening, most are positive, some are humorous and a few are out-and-out funny. Good reading! The author is married to Ann and they have two daughters Kathi and Lorri. As a young boy, the author spent two Summers living there with his family. While at WPI he was selected, along with nine others, to join an organization known as THE SKULL. Episode 2673: RETURN TO EDEN by Richard Taylor

5/4/2023
Return To Eden by Richard TaylorReturn to Eden is the second book in the Eden Trilogy, linking Eden Lost with origins in the Philippine-American war (1868-1901). It is followed by Almost Eden set in and after the Vietnam War. Each book has a generational link, carrying forward family mythology, characteristics, and historical precedents. Return to Eden resumes in 1941 with Joe Armand—Joshua’s son from Eden Lost—in Manila to purchase a ship for his father’s shipping empire. While there, he goes to the grave of Isabella, his father’s lover in Eden Lost, and meets Luci Blake, an American Red Cross nurse. They fall in love as Pearl Harbor is attacked and the Philippines are attacked and invaded by Japanese. After several failed attempts to evacuate Manila, Joe and Luci are separated and with Japanese police hot on their trail, forced to escape into the jungles north of Manila. There they reunited as members of a Philippine guerrilla force, praying for MacArthur’s promised return. Joshua’s search for his son, Joe, compels his return to Manila as the war ends. There he confronts his undying love for Isabella, as he finds Joe and his wife Luci with their daughter, Isabella, or Izzy. Izzy carries family tradition forward into Vietnam and afterward. Return to Eden is sometimes a brutal story, but is heartwarming and illustrative of how true love can persevere the most difficult challenges of life. It also highlights the relationships between Americans and Filipinos that carries through all the Eden Trilogy. Episode 2672: CONG CATCHERS: A SOLDIER'S MEMORIES OF VIETNAM by Lee Halverson

5/4/2023
Cong Catchers: A Soldier's Memories of Vietnam by Lee Halverson Lee spent January 1969 to December 1970 in the US Army. Cong Catchers is a compilation of events that occurred while he served. This is not a guns-and-ammo book. It is a book about a young man with Christian values at war. A young man who avoided the pleasures that were readily available and instead organized football games, drank soda, avoided drugs, and helped repair orphanages. You will enjoy meeting many of those he served with and the ways they coped in very adverse conditions. These young men served our country with valor and returned home to a less-than-friendly society. Wars can make or break a person, and growing up with deeply ingrained Christian values, Lee Halverson rose up to the challenge that was the Vietnam War. As he stated in the foreword of his book Cong Catchers, "Most books about Viet Nam deal with troop strength, weaponry, battles, body counts and so on. Not this one." In this book, Halverson focused on the good things that happened during his Army tour in Vietnam-from organizing football games, drinking sodas, and helping in repairing orphanages. With Cong Catchers, readers get a glimpse of another view of the Vietnam War-one that is filled with hope and optimism. https://www.amazon.com/Cong-Catchers-Soldiers-Memories-Vietnam-ebook/dp/B0B4FB78BR/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr= https://congcatchers.com/ https://pageturner.us/ http://www.bluefunkbroadcasting.com/root/twia/5423pt2.mp3

Episode 2671: LITTLE BOYS BIG DREAMS AND THE HOBO WARS by Joseph Kinnebrew

5/4/2023
Little Boys Big Dreams and the Hobo Wars by Joseph KinnebrewIn 1948 Joseph Kinnebrew was a little boy becoming aware of his place in a bigger world. Back then his territory was small, he was maturing from age six to eight. Living with his family on a steep hill running down to Commencement Bay in Tacoma, Washington, Joseph, in those days just Joe, with his dog Skipper, and neighborhood pal Freddie with his dog Chipper were serious adventurers. Young boys, "persons of curiosity". In this entertaining chronicling Kinnebrew shares two summers of idyllic childhood, sometimes serious, sometimes hilariously comedic experiences of little boys growing up, still attached to their mothers who fed, healed and comforted them. Valuable lessons they would carry forward into the remainder of their lives. Joe's life ahead with uncommon abilities would be exceptionally accomplished. He tells a story of charming innocence, emotions and evolving beliefs along with how he and Freddie struck gold on the steep hillside of a gully, shared secrets with Skipper and Chipper, and ditched Davy who told everyone his father owned the Wonder Bread company. Exploring the beaches of Puget Sound these boys played marbles inside their fort deep in dense blackberry brambles, safe from troublesome little girls and babysitters. They built many "forts" to spy on dreaded hobos who resided at the bottom in the gully near their homes. Parents had forbade them going to the gully where it was said the hobos kidnapped children and sold them into slavery sending them to Arabia. And then profound and lasting lessons for impressionable little boys from their encounters and friendship with Bobbie the older seriously handicapped young man who lived nearby. Kinnebrew provides magical and captivating glimpses into his childhood. Two years later, in 1950 his family moved to the Midwest, Joe forever leaving behind his best friend, Freddie, towering fir trees, salt water, mountains, and his compelling innocence.
