Brian graduated from West Point in summer of 2002 where he earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering, and he was commissioned as an Officer in the US Army. Brian served six and half years on Active Duty, and during his service, he successfully graduated from the U.S. Army Ranger School and the U.S. Army Airborne School. Brian deployed to Iraq in 2005, where he led a platoon of Soldiers in combat operations within Sadr City. In December of 2008, Brian transitioned from Active Duty to the U.S. Army Reserves and accepted a position as a Project Manager in Lancaster, PA. From 2009-2010. During this time, Brian served in the Contingency Response Unit based out of the United States Army Corps of Engineer HQ’s. In 2010, Brian deployed to Afghanistan with the United States Army Corps of Engineers where he was the resident engineer and led reconstruction efforts on Kandahar Air Base. In 2011, Brian started working for PPL Electric Utilities and he held multiple positions. Brian founded Valiant Group LLC in 2017, an engineering and construction firm operating in the public and private markets, including Federal/State agencies and electrical utility clients. Brian is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves where he is a graduate of Engineer Captains Advanced Course, Command General Staff College, U.S. Army Airborne School, and U.S. Army Ranger School. Additionally, Brian has earned the Bronze Star for actions in Iraq. We can't wait to hear Brian's story in Christ.

Shaun Marzett graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in June 2002. He also attended the United States Military Academy Preparatory School in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. Upon graduation from USMA, Shaun was commissioned as an Infantry Officer in the United States Army. Shaun deployed to Iraq as a Platoon Leader. While in combat, Shaun sustained wounds from an improvised explosive device (IED) while conducting a vehicular patrol outside of Baghdad, Iraq. After serving his country, Shaun founded a government consulting business in the Washington, D.C. area. He is the proud father of two children and he currently resides in the Northern Virginia area. We can't wait to hear Shaun's story in Christ.

Brigadier General David G. Phillips, Jr. retired, with 31 years service, from the Virginia Air National Guard and the Air National Guard of the United States in June of 2002. In his last assignment, the General served as the Deputy Director, Air National Guard (ANG) Forces, Headquarters Air Combat Command (ACC), Langley AFB, Virginia. This Directorate, ACC/CG, is responsible to the Commander of ACC and the Air Directorate of the National Guard Bureau (NGB), Washington, D.C., for developing, assessing, and coordinating headquarters plans, policies, programs and procedures affecting support of the ACC gained ANG forces. ACC/CG is further responsible for the functional management of the ANG Team Langley integrated staff program. In 2010, David began serving with the military ministry of Cru, where he served as Ministry Advancement Director, responsible for ministry fundraising, marketing, brand management, and external communication until his appointment as the new Executive Director of Cru Military. General Phillips holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration along with numerous Merit and Service awards from the U.S. Air Force and Virginia National Guard. He and his wife, Terilyn, have been married for 32 years and live in Yorktown, Virginia. They have five children and three grandchildren. We can't wait to hear David's story in Christ.

Upon his departure from the military, Joe has held several leadership roles in the corporate sector and ran a non-profit organization in the Jacksonville, Florida area called Kids Hope Alliance. Additionally, Jim is a partner in two (2) family-owned Jersey Mike's Restaurants located in Sicklerville, Gloucester County, New Jersey and Sewell, Gloucester County, New Jersey. Prior to his career as a Special Agent in the FBI, Jim was an officer in the U.S. Army after being commissioned from the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Dan Horst is a 2002 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. Upon graduation, Dan was an Armor Officer in the U.S. Army. His first combat deployment was from March 2003 to April 2004 in Iraq. Later, Dan joined the 95th Civil Affairs Brigade where he prepared and executed 2 tours to Afghanistan in support of Special Operations Task Forces, integrated with Special Forces and Psychological Operations units. Dan conducted a stint back at West Point as an Assistant Professor in the History Department. Following that, Dan re-joined the 95th Civil Affairs Brigade as a Company Commander and Battalion Director of Operations Officer. Dan's final assignment in the Army was the Deputy G5 Director (Plans and Strategy) at US Army Central Command. Upon retirement, he joined Booz Allen Hamilton as a Strategy Consultant. He and his family reside in South Carolina.

Mike Baldwin joined the Grossman team after a distinguished law enforcement career in Arizona. Over his 20 + year career, Mike served in a number of roles: Patrol, Field Training Officer, SWAT Operator, Sergeant, and Lead Detective in the Major Felons Unit. As a Detective, Mike honed his craft and became arguably his department’s best interviewer and gained admissions and confessions from suspects who committed a variety of crimes. Over the years he received multiple departmental awards, citations for outstanding police work, and the respect of his peers. Mike served as an example and mentor to several young detectives and found this experience to be extremely rewarding. For seven years, Mike served as the Sheepdog for his church home in AZ. He started a volunteer security team at his local church in which church members and guests (Sheep) were watched over by the security team (Sheepdogs) to protect them against the Wolf. This ministry continues in his absence. After obtaining an MBA with an emphasis on Strategic Innovation, Mike retired from law enforcement and joined the Grossman team. He hit the ground running on day 1 and has proven to be a valuable addition. His strategy is to focus on the acronym WIN (What’s Important Now). Mike handles the day-to-day operation of our business and interacts with people and agencies wishing to schedule a presentation. Mike is a devoted husband, father, and Christian man who seeks to honor God in what he does.

In their description of Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, Slate Magazine said, “Grossman cuts such a heroic, omni-competent figure, he could have stepped out of a video game.” He has five patents to his name, has published four novels, two children’s’ books, and six non-fiction books to include his “perennial bestseller” On Killing (with over half a million copies sold), and a New York Times best-selling book co-authored with Glenn Beck. He is a US Army Ranger, a paratrooper, and a former West Point Psychology Professor. He has a Black Belt in Hojutsu, the martial art of the firearm, and has been inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame. Col. Grossman’s research was cited by the President of the United States in a national address, and he has testified before the U.S. Senate, the U.S. Congress, and numerous state legislatures. He has served as an expert witness and consultant in state and Federal courts. He helped train mental health professionals after the Jonesboro school massacre, and he was also involved in counseling or court cases in the aftermath of the Paducah, Springfield, Littleton and Nickel Mines Amish school massacres. Since his retirement from the U.S. Army in 1998, he has been traveling full time as one of our nation’s leading trainers for military, law enforcement, mental health providers, and school safety organizations. Josh Gonzalez was a three-year Varsity letter winner on the Army Football team at West Point. He graduated in the summer of 2001 and was assigned as a Graduate Assistant football coach at Army, prior to serving as a Field Artillery Officer. Josh deployed to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003 and returned home in 2004 from that deployment. He also served in Korea during his Army service. After departing the Army, Josh has taken several roles within the medical device industry, helping to advance the sales teams within those organizations. He is currently a Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) with CVRx | Barostim in the Houston, Texas area. We can't wait to hear his story in Christ.

Sergeant Major Baylis was born in Morristown, NJ on 13 April 1961 and served over 26 years on active duty. SGM Baylis entered the service on 22 February 1981 as an 11C (Indirect Fire Infantryman). After Basic Training and AIT, he served with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC and the 2d Bn 75th RGR as a mortar Squad Leader prior to coming to Special Forces. Sergeant Major Baylis’s combat tours are with the 7th SFG (A) during Operation JUST CAUSE from December 89- January 90 and the 5th SFG(A) during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM from October 01 to February 02, IRAQI FREEDOM from January 03 to June 03 and IRAQI FREEDOM 2 from May 04 to July 04. SGM Baylis participated in Demining Operations in Cambodia, Counter Narcotic Operations in Columbia and Bolivia, a Contingency Operation in Cambodia and Thailand, and an in-extremis force deployment to India. SGM Baylis holds an AAS from Vincennes University and a BS in history and business from The University of the State of New York. His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (2 OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (2 OLC) Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge (1 star-3 awards). He is the Founder and CEO of the VALOR Clinic Foundation.

Col. Burns has held a variety of leadership positions throughout his career, ranging from leading at the platoon level to an Army garrison. He has served both stateside and overseas, twice at the Pentagon, and has served for over thirty months on two combat tours in Iraq. He recently completed a City-County Management Senior Fellowship with the city of Austin. He currently serves as a Department of the Army Civilian at The Installation Management Command Headquarters, located on Joint Base San Antonio, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Col. Burns also served as Principal, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School in Selma, TX, where he led and ran the 501 c (3) non-profit school, and he is a certified Emotional Intelligence (EQ-i2.0) Practitioner. Col. Burns holds Masters Degrees in Strategic Studies from the College of Naval Warfare and in Teaching from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, with Minors in both Latin and Philosophy, and is a member of Eta Sigma Phi (National Honorary Society of Classical Studies).

LTC Mike Kelvington grew up in Akron, Ohio before attending The United States Military Academy at West Point. He graduated in 2005 from USMA, where he played Sprint Football. Mike is an Infantry Officer in the US Army with 14 combat deployments, having served in various positions within the 82nd Airborne Division and 75th Ranger Regiment, to name a few. He currently is the Professor of Military Science at The Ohio State University ROTC program, which allowed him and his family to return to Ohio. Mike's authenticity and concise communication is infectious and the wisdom he shares regarding his faith in Christ thru life's challenges are truly inspiring.
