College Ministry Sunday | Trevor Akin

Religion & Spirituality Podcas >

Currently we're studying through Deuteronomy. This is the book that famously boiled down our duty to God as loving him with all you've got. It's way more than law, and proves its ongoing relevance in every text. Trevor Akin is a graduate of The Expositor's Seminary and leads the College Ministry at Mission Road Bible Church. If you are looking for what the Bible means, and what it means for you, you've come to the right place.

Deut 9:25-10:11 | This Grace In Which We Stand 8/19/18

8/22/2018
More
Moses describes his intercession on behalf of Israel, concluding his argument against the self-righteousness. While Israel has no righteousness to stand on, they will receive the blessing of the promise through the grace of God covering their sin, which grace they will experience when they follow by faith. Moses' intercession is a smaller picture of the greater intercession of Jesus, who by his sacrifice ended the wrath against sin and secured God's grace for all who believe. See the...

Deut 9:7-24 | The Most Pristine Spiritual Resume 8/12/18

Moses persuades Israel that any thought of having earned a right to the land of Canaan through pleasing God or just being more holy people than the current inhabitants is both crazy and a-historical. The lesson for us is to realize how our lives fail to meet God's standard (religious backgrounds notwithstanding) and surrender our lives to Christ, put our trust in the good life he lived on our behalf and follow him.
