There’s a false idea in the religious world that a Christian is guaranteed health and wealth. Have you ever heard this prosperity gospel pitch, where God’s a divine slot machine, and with enough faith, you hit the jackpot? To put it simply, that’s not the Gospel. Helen was taught that she no longer needs mind renewal because she has the mind of Christ. We do have the mind of Christ. But the Bible also tells us that our mind is constantly being renewed. Many people wonder if their past mistakes are too much for God to handle. A recent caller shared his struggle with finding peace because of past sins, and I had some thoughts to share. We’ve all seen it – the athlete scores a goal and points to Heaven, or someone shouts, “To God be the glory!” But have you ever wondered if God is really waiting for us to pump up His glory meter? Scripture tells us that the “day of the Lord” will come like a thief in the night.
