Gel (Angelica) and her husband promptly brought her 2015 diagnosis up to the Lord and He led them to a path that involved implementing a better lifestyle; employing non-conventional therapies; uplifting the soul; collaborating with integrative practitioners; and partnering with praying friends that surround us with positivity. HealingStrong is Gel’s answered prayer and so she is dedicating this ministry to all that may be encouraged and have a closer relationship with the Healer.⁣ Mary was introduced to Suzy and HealingStrong in 2014 as her husband Nigel was fighting colon cancer. Mary and Nigel recognized the benefit of going beyond conventional treatment to include Spiritual and Emotional healing, dietary changes and realizing that Hope is a huge strategy when battling chronic diseases. Mary joined the HealingStrong Family as a leader in Houston in 2016 and is a Regional mentor. The Houston group is the longest running HealingStrong group. Mary’s focus is on ensuring that each person going through a cancer journey has a Village of support, Hope, Faith, & Love. In March 2022, Matt Krug was diagnosed with stage 3c colon cancer. After having colon resection surgery, Matt researched the effectiveness of the recommended adjuvant chemotherapy and determined it was not a viable option. Instead, he chose a holistic approach to healing. Unfortunately, A CT scan revealed a recurrence of cancer a year later in April 2023. Despite the dismal news, Matt examined his holistic protocol and realized he had not fully understood his cancer, as well as missing the key spiritual and emotional sides of healing. In light of this new awareness, Matt has taken new measures to address the mind, body, and spirit in his healing journey. In October of 2008, Cortney Campbell was diagnosed with Stage II Nodular Lymphocyte Predominant Hodgkin Lymphoma. The chemotherapy that was suggested by her oncologist had many side effects, but the one she found completely unbearable was infertility. Over the next few weeks, Cortney and her husband, Kevin began to read about the reasons that conventional medicine was not always the best way to approach treating cancer. As a stage 3 Cancer thriver and 4 years out; Joni is married to Chuck Watkins stage 4 thriver… also 4 years out. They are huge fans of HealingStrong, as this ministry was instrumental in getting them to a safe landing place. Nahum 1:7-9. Professionally, Joni is employed at Northside Hospital Atlanta, as a case manager and as a certified nutritionist. Joni incorporates nutritional advice with her care coordination role. Chuck and Joni are currently enrolled in Bible College and plan to be in full time ministry within the next two years. Holle is a HealingStrong friend and currently a therapeutic instructor. Holle was integral in helping shape the structure of HealingStrong, which in part, helps in guiding group leaders with policies, procedures and processes. She came into therapeutic movement through the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® in 2005 with an injury. Beginning a GYROTONIC® apprenticeship at Body-n-Balance in Alpharetta, Georgia, she began to teach while rehabilitating her shoulder.⁣ She is certified as a Gyrokinesis instructor and a Pre-Trainer authorized to teach students beginning on their own path to instructorship. ⁣ Holle attended her first therapeutic course with Paul Horvath and Uwe Herbstreit in 2007, and the direction of her work refined towards holistic, comprehensive resolution of bio-mechanical pain patterns. In working with people struggling through chronic pain, she recognized a frequent connection to situations of stress and backgrounds of trauma. Gayle is a new HealingStrong Group Leader for Kentucky and a breast cancer thriver! In July of 2019, she was blindsided with an invasive ductal carcinoma diagnosis. She had known for years that if she was to ever be diagnosed with cancer, she would not do the conventional chemotherapy, radiation, surgery. She had heard about alternative treatments when her mom was going through a cancer journey in 2015, so after her own diagnosis, she decided to spend time in prayer and get direction from the Lord, so the first week after my diagnosis that is what she did. No research, just time in God’s Word and in prayer while spending time with her family on vacation. She rewatched a cancer series, where she heard about Chris Wark, and from Chris Wark, heard about HealingStrong. She got on the HealingStrong website and searched for a group and knew this was an organization that she would be connected with for years. What Gayle loves about HealingStrong is the community and the individual relationships. It’s a place where you know you can trust being heard and understood without criticism. Rob and Rachel are group leaders in the HealingStrong community! After Rob became a stage 4 prostate cancer thriver, they heard about HealingStrong and knew this is where God has led them to serve. In October of 2013, Betty received a diagnosis of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. Her diagnosis was Watch and Wait or Stage 0, so the doctor was not threatening me with treatments. Her doctor did say, he expected Betty to need treatment in 8 years - in 2021. Betty took that as a challenge to prove him wrong! In 2021 and still today, her numbers are the same as they were upon diagnosis. God had been leading Betty to watch things like Forks over Knives, Dr. Fuhrman’s Eat to Live on PBS and Super Juice Me a year before her diagnosis. She had been experimenting with vegan meals and in May 2013 had stopped eating sugar based on what she had been learning. When she received her diagnosis, she knew that she had to change her diet, which she states gave her peace and comfort, in having this control over her situation and in fact, helped her better handle her diagnosis. She then studied everything she could get her hands on. Betty was a HealingStrong group leader in Albuquerque starting in 2018 until she moved to Colorado in 2021. Nancianne was brought up in a poverty-stricken home, riddled with substance abuse, never knowing Christ. After 18 years of substance abuse, divorce, and reckless living, she found herself in jail, where she got near a Bible. God met Nancianne on her knees in that jail cell and her life has never been the same! He took her addictions and gave her a new Spirit. A Spirit of life, truth and the longing to obey God's Word. Unbelievable transformation has occurred in Nancianne since the day God took her addictions and welcomed her into His beautiful family. God has reconciled her marriage, put children in the barren woman's house, restored relationships with family, healed her from crippling anxiety and dyslexia, and given her overwhelming peace and joy. How great is our God! God has placed a call on Nancianne's heart to be an advocate for people in jail and struggling with addiction. She strives to lead by example through healthy eating, exercise, education, and most importantly maintaining a close relationship with God. Mya is a homeschooling mom of two young girls, health advocate, HealingStrong group leader and team member. She was never diagnosed with cancer, but through her mom’s stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis, the Lord led her into the natural world. Upon her mom’s diagnosis, Mya was living in another state, married, working as a special education teacher, with a preschooler, living the “go with the flow” mentality, eating the Standard American Diet (SAD), overworked, exhausted, feeling less than healthy, but with no diagnosis of her own. This led her to believe the way she was feeling was “just” her. But God used her mom’s diagnosis to shift her thought life, eating habits, and more importantly, her relationship with Him. Billy has a story no parent wants to have. He shares his experience with his daughter who was treated through conventional means, but to no avail, passed away at a young age. He shares his own faith journey, as well as his newfound drive to learn about other options and ultimately, help others. He has come to educate himself on other healing modalities since his daughters passing, which has brought him to be greatly aligned with the mission and message of HealingStrong. Billy's story is one of indescribable pain, faith, and overcoming. Billy has served with HealingStrong since 2013 and is one of the Founding Members.
