Luis Mellado—one of the elders at Park Hill Church—shares a powerful message from 2 Kings 2 on Traits of a Resilient Person. Through the life of Elisha, we see that true resilience is marked by perseverance, the ability to hear God’s voice, a hunger for more, and owning our own faith. Luis invites us to press in, not give up, and take personal steps toward a deeper relationship with God—especially when we face our own “Jordan River” moments. Pastor Dan Braga from Neighbor's Church shares a vulnerable and powerful message about how God forms us in the painful, uncertain places—between a rock and a hard place. Drawing from Elijah’s journey in 1 Kings 19, he unpacks the cycles of orientation, disorientation, and reorientation, showing how God meets us not with quick fixes, but with quiet presence. In seasons of doubt, dryness, or deep loss, we’re invited to stop striving and surrender fully, trusting that God is still at work even when we can’t feel Him. The invitation is to let suffering shape us, trusting that joy and transformation are waiting on the other side.

Erika Mellado, one of the elders at Park Hill Church, shared a heartfelt message from Psalm 8 about the majesty of God and the surprising worth He places on each of us. She reminded us that the God who created the galaxies with His fingers is also the Father who sees, values, and loves us deeply. In our weakness, He reveals His strength—and our identity as image-bearers of God gives us purpose, dignity, and hope. Even when we feel small, the Creator of the universe draws near—because we matter to Him.

Special guest Pastor Tim Chaddick brought a timely and heartfelt message about the greatest obstacle facing the Church today—not the culture around us, but trying to do ministry without the Holy Spirit. He reminded us that God’s work isn’t meant to be done in our own strength, but through a deep, daily connection with the Spirit who empowers, guides, and refreshes us. We’re called to receive from the Spirit, rely on Him, and relate to Him personally. If you’re feeling tired or spiritually dry, this message is a reminder: your need is God’s invitation to fill you.

Matthieu Rouffet, one of the elders at Park Hill Church, unpacks John 14, emphasizing Jesus’ call to trust Him, even in times of fear and uncertainty. He reminds us that loving Jesus means obeying His teachings, and through that obedience, we experience God's presence dwelling within us. Matthieu encourages us to slow down, meditate on Scripture, and rely on the Holy Spirit—the Advocate—who teaches, comforts, and reminds us of Jesus’ words. This week at Park Hill Church, we were joined by special guest Dave Lomas, lead teaching pastor at Reality San Francisco, who preached from Mark 1:14–15. In this message, we explore Jesus’ central theme: the Kingdom of God. But rather than define it directly, Jesus invites us to imagine and experience it—as something new, valuable, and deeply disruptive. The Kingdom is like a hidden treasure, like new wine in fresh wineskins—it calls us to rethink, repent, and radically reorient our lives. It’s not just a place, but a Kairos moment: an invitation into God’s reign that breaks into our world with joy, surprise, and costly beauty.

Dr. Sandra Richter visits Park Hill Church and addresses a challenging but important question: "Does the Old Testament dehumanize women?" Speaking with clarity and deep biblical insight, she invites us to reexamine some of the tough passages through the lens of their ancient cultural context. Rather than diminishing women, Dr. Richter shows how these scriptures, when rightly understood, often offered more dignity and protection than commonly perceived. Her message encourages us as believers to engage the Old Testament not with suspicion, but with a deeper curiosity for God’s justice and care woven throughout. It’s a timely reminder that Scripture, even in its difficult parts, is worth wrestling with—and that God’s heart for both women and men remains steadfast and good.
