Jesus in My Heart

God chooses to dwell with people through Christ Jesus, even through we don't deserve it. We see humans betraying each other, taking advantage of each other, and even the evil in our own hearts and we ask why would God chose to dwell with us and be our God. God sees something different than what we see in others and ourselves. God looks at us through the person and work of Jesus, forgiving us and restoring us, which is completed in heaven.

The White Robe

Christ gives us the White Robe of Righteousness through Holy Baptism, which is our key to heaven. While on this side of heaven, we still struggle with trials and tribulations, but Christ the Good Shepherd is with us. Getting to heaven is not about avoiding these trails nor overcoming them well, but getting to heaven is about Christ's actions. Yes we will have trails and tribulations, but it is through these Christ leads us to heaven

Who Is Worthy?

Only Jesus is worthy to open the seals, because of the shedding of His blood on the Cross. This message of forgiveness is the new song for the church. As Christians we are to forgive, just as Christ has forgiven us. The power of forgiveness changes the lives of Peter and Paul. Peter who denied Jesus and Paul who persecuted the early Christians now are proclaimers of this beautiful forgiveness.

Keys of Death

Christ hold the keys of death, because Christ defeated sin, death and the devil while on the cross on Good Friday. Keys open and closes, giving the key hold control. Jesus also gives the Keys of Heaven to the church as the church proclaims what Christ has done.

Jesus's resurrection is not just for His sake but for your sake. Jesus as His body and soul were knit back together He promises the same for us. Our bodies will rise on the last day, our lungs will breathe again, our hearts will be warm and strong and our eyes will see.

Jesus is a God who loves, with His hands, His actions, His death. Jesus hands created the world, washed the disciples feet and nailed to a cross. In order to love like Jesus, we return as He commands to His altar where we receive His Body and Blood for forgiveness, week after week.

Jesus says, "I thirst" while on the cross for you. Jesus does this to fulfill the Scriptures. We are unable to fulfill the Scriptures because we don't thirst for righteousness but for ourselves. We thirsts for the things of this world, where Jesus thirsts for us.

Jesus is true man and true God, so Jesus has a Mother. The fact that Jesus has a Mother is very comforting for us Christians. This means we have a God who knows what we are going through here on earth. Jesus cares for His mother, Jesus also cares for us. The safe place that Jesus places us is in the Church, which is our mother. The Church feeds us God's Word, protects us from the evil one and strengthens us with the body and blood of Jesus.

Jesus takes on human flesh and blood to suffer and die on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. Our sins separate us from God, because God is Holy and we are not. Humanity reaction of Fight or Flight come to bear. We hide from God like Adam did in the Garden, or we strike out against God. God has a different approach, He loves us and gives His holiness so that we may live.

When praying to God are you afraid of saying the wrong words or thinking that the professional i.e. Pastor prays better? Because of Jesus, the Heavenly Father hears all prayers. Correct English isn’t necessary, only Jesus. Our prayers are attached to the prayers of Jesus, so the Heavenly Father loves our prayers.

Jesus overcomes temptations because we cannot. No matter how much will power we think we have, we fail. Jesus gives His body for the life of the world, His body that overcame the devil's temptation, His body that died on the cross, His body given and shed through Bread and Wine, are given to us, for the strengthening of our faith and the forgiveness of our sins.
