It begs the question: are we dependable disciples or a wavering witnesses? Despite the ways we sometimes show up in the world – Christ still trusts us to share the Good News that he lived for us, died for us and rose again on the third day. 2/13/2022 Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. That is one of the most popular love letters of all time -- written by the Apostle Paul to the church at Corinth. And, if we checked our spiritual mail today – we might find that God is writing us a love letter. Moreover, we might find that is sending us as love letters to the world. 2/20/2022 As Believers, it is imperative that we carry the presence of the Lord with us at all times, in all situations (good and bad). We are to be mindful that as adverse situations come our way, the battle is not ours, it's the Lord's. Therefore, we are to be encouraged as well. The God we serve is a provider, as well as a restorer. In all situations, let love remain in your hearts, for in doing so, the God in you will allow to overcome anything and everything. After his baptism, Christ is driven by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to be tested. Today, we begin our Lenten journey – submitting to a season of examination, so that we might be fit to serve. The text reminds us, that the enemy never gives up on distracting the children of God. 1/2/2022 As we celebrate Epiphany of the Lord Sunday, which marks the 12th day of Christmas, we might recall the song full of gifts none of us want – turtle doves and partridges in pear trees. But the 12th day of Christmas is really about the one who was born to set us free. Epiphany marks the day when the Wise Men finally laid eyes on the Savior – and opened their hearts in worship and opened their treasured gifts before him. This Epiphany and beyond, let’s consider how our encounter with the Light of the World will open our hearts and re-arrange our plans and priorities this year.
