Trying to leave this little old world and the people I meet in a better place then when I first met them. Who am I and what do I do?………Paul Clough. I now love helping making changes in people and guiding them to create the life they really want. A personal look at me: The above sentence was not always the case and being the best in the financial realms of the building industry was my aim and getting there by any means. I now know this is, and was, the worst way ~ even if I did make director of one of the largest building companies in Cambridge by the age of 30. One of the major realisations came on my first ever training in hypnosis. I found that it’s not a win lose world and that a win win is only a low basis to live. Being true to your beliefs and coming from a place of integrity where service is paramount. This understanding together with lots of NLP skills helped create my last partnership in the building industry grow from a turnover of £800k to £16m in less than twelve years and that can only be done with giving more than expected. Another shaping of me came from two traumatic events in my life that happened within six months of each other which created a number of major changes in me and by beliefs in what is possible. I have written about my experience and how I dealt with it but more importantly it really showed me my love for my three boys and theirs for me and resulted in the step up to become a trainer of NLP (which I never intended) and my close and exciting work with two of my sons. In supporting Joseph and help create change in people in our training’s and his wonderful life changing ‘Be your potential weekend’ and with Luke the continuing development of Cambridge Hypnotherapy and Hypnosis processes. My relationship with my third son Daniel just keeps getting better and better too. Not knowing how good I had become in change work in the beginning I generally studied, practiced and saw clients then things started to happen when I started to work following just my instincts. T

#159 Finding Your Elusive Passion pt 1

1/25/2020
More
Finding Your Elusive Passion pt 1 I believe your passion is hidden in plain sight I don't believe the BS 'clickbait' of finding your passion in 5minutes or in secret ways only this or that 'guru' knows. We talked about this before but something inside wanted to dive deeper. Whether it was a mention of Robert Green's book Mastery giving a similar view I have had for a long time. Not that make me right but I do feel a 'GREAT' mind and little old me thinking along the same lines make it...

#157 Challenging My Beliefs and Yours

1/10/2020
More
Challenging My Beliefs and Yours Oh My! I recently had one of my major beliefs questioned/challenged by someone who wasn't even there. Why is this important? Because in my world beliefs and values are the most important things and are my identity and if you have ever had yours challenged you will know exactly how I felt. This challenge questioned the very way I work with my clients and have done for years to create massive positive changes in their worlds. I had to have a long hard...

#156 (I) Love Not Being Good Enough

1/3/2020
More
(I) Love Not Being Good Enough If you're like me, like so many of my coaching clients, so many of my Hypnotherapy clients and everyone else :O) Not Being good Enough is a limiting belief that stops us doing what we'd love to do. I find with my clients we can quickly get to the root (cause) of their issue, I don't treat the effects like so many others do and take a long time, I seem to find this belief 'I'm Not Good Enough' along with a negative emotion more than not. We also find out...

#155 Hypnosis in the Eye of the storm

12/27/2019
More
Hypnosis in the Eye of the storm Yes a Hypnosis track right in the middle of a podcast So we're right in the middle of Christmas and New Year and all the noise that they create so I thought I'd bring a little peace and quiet in the form of a hypnosis track just for you. I will be putting the track with all our other hypnosis tracks so you can simply go into trance without all the pre and post-talk. So keep an eye out for that after I remix it. It is not your straight forward run of the...

More
Do It or You'll Regret It Have you ever done something that you you were a little afraid of doing, maybe not confident or even not knowing why you were going o do it and it was a Success with a capital S! How did that feel when you did it? Have you regretted not doing something? I guess if you're like me the answer's YES. Seth Godden reminded me of this when I was listening to him and it really resonated. He said: You rarely or never regret having done something but you nearly always...

FMQ 285 We've Been Validated Again

12/17/2019
More
We've Been Validated Again Our philosophy here at the Personal Development Unplugged podcast is about doing and not intellectualizing. There are lot of people who think they know what to do because they've read about the subject or watched a lot about the subject BUT They've never ever done it! Yes you have to know what to do but you also have to do what you know - That's our version here of Mastery - Getting it in the muscle and we've stuck to this for ever. We have been validaded...

12/13/2019
More
EveryOne's a Critic A Five Minute Quickie Podcast This shorter podcast follows on from #153 'A Sense of Purpose' and as we get to follow that sense how is it those critics seem to appear out of nowhere? They appear as if magic to derail us from our objective with their un-asked for 'Advice' which isn't advice but a secret veiled criticism. You could ask, but we never do, from what experience do they have or are they asserting from? Do they have our best interest at heart or is it from a...

#153 A Sense of Purpose

12/10/2019
More
A Sense of Purpose There are so many experts to be found telling you they can help you find your purpose in 6 minutes, 3 easy steps or with this 'New Secret' way and I wonder do they really know? The one's I've seen and heard say the same type of very general and 'non-secret' ways to get you to sign up to their programs - not good :O( But as I was thinking of this I found myself realising that there is a way to understand your Purpose and in a way you know to be right because some how...

12/6/2019
More
Being Selfish at Christmas Time This holiday time can be one of the most stressful times of the year when we wish, hope it's going to be different this time around. and Unless we get a little unselfishly selfish it will be stressful. So what can we do? It's pretty simple really :O) and when you do you can sit back and enjoy. Have a listen, it isn't too long and it might just make the difference that makes the difference. FMQ 282 Before You Take Action Think of This

12/3/2019
More
Before You Take Action Think of This Let's deconstruct the complicated and make change easy From a conversation about the evolution of a business and how to change in order to cope with the change to something more personal. What was that more personal thing? Well it was linked with my thoughts and journaling of earlier in the week. You see I'd been thinking of where I was and the choices I had - Still to vague Cloughie! Well, I was considering to change quite radically on what I do...

#152 Having To Be Perfect

11/29/2019
More
Having To Be Perfect A longer PDU podcast We all want to be perfect, even if we don't always get there or act like it. For some it's a 'Have to be or else' which is a difficult if not, if you care to listen, impossible position to put yourself in. And yes it's you who do it even if you don't know it. The thing is I don't want you to be perfect! What Cloughie!? Isn't that the goal? Nooooooooooooooooooooo! I have been with people who think that, I have had numerous clients that didn't...

FMQ 281 They'll never get you down after this

11/26/2019
More
They'll never get you down after this Anchoring in a different way I love when a tried and tested process can be developed, expanded and still keep it's simplicity and yet be equally as powerful as the original intention. What am I talking about? Well I have a pet peeve, that I'll rant over in another episode, where so many people in the hypnosis and NLP world simply decide follow by route, without thought, what and why they do what they do and don't get curious to what can be done with...

FMQ 280 The BS of 1% Improvement

11/22/2019
More
The BS of 1% Improvement We hear, in this world of self development, that just improve whatever you're doing by 1% and the results will be ..... You may have also heard of 'CANI' - Constant and Never ending Improvement which I guess follows a similar theme. Are these BS? It would be provocative to say so wouldn't it? Would it be true? - Not really but no one really tells you how because it appears to be so simple. BUT simple doesn't necessarily mean easy :O( What seems to follow when...

11/19/2019
More
Who's Goal Is It Anyway A longer episode PDU podcast We all have goals, in fact virtually everything we do is a goal, an outcome in mind. It's just some are bigger and will have a more dramatic affect on how we feel when we're working on them and when we finish -successful or not Hmmmmmmm. More specifically, do you, like me, have goals that seem to have stalled or not even got off the ground and you have been thinking abut them for a long time? Why is that? not getting that goal off...

Seeing clearly A 5 minute Quickie Podcast Have you ever seen the man who spins those plates on sticks and in the chaos keeps running back and forwards keeping them spinning and then as he takes a bow they all seem to get in sync with each other? As I have been reading a great book by a great author Dr. Wayne Dyer 'Change your thoughts change your life' he quotes from the Tao "Muddy water will always come clear" and it got me thinking about the spinning plates, a child's toy and it how...
