Sounds from the locker room 1/16 - PENALTY KILLING IN THE NAME OF

1/18/2019
More
Sounds from the locker room is back and we've got player reactions following Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Boston Bruins. We've got Natty Hatty himself, Sean Couturier, plus Scott Laughton, Radko Gudas and Oskar Lindblom. I'm sorry there's no Carter Hart sound, the audio quality was just too bad. There was like a photog standing right next to the mic clicking over everything he said. It was mostly cliches, you're not missing anything from what I could tell.

Checking out the competition - Montreal Canadiens

1/18/2019
More
After Carter Hart and Sean Couturier carried the team to a 4-3 win over the Boston Bruins on Wednesday, the Philadelphia Flyers are hoping to achieve their second three-game winning streak of the season on Saturday against the Montreal Canadiens. Depending on the outcome of their game tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Canadiens could be coming in on a winning streak of their own, as they’ve won three straight thanks to strong goaltending. Steve and Craig were joined by Scott...

1/17/2019
More

Plus, what’s the return in a Wayne trade? What’s the matter with Ghost? Is the PK actually good? And finally, what’s the worst trade in Flyers history?

Flyperbole Ep. 118 - The Painfully Smart Thing To Do

1/17/2019
More
On this week’s Flyperbole, Steve and Craig talk about the Flyers waiving Dale Weise, trading Jordan Weal, and actually recording some wins. The two also talk about the recent hot play of both James van Riemsdyk and Sean Couturier, as well as Nolan Patrick’s big night against the Minnesota Wild. The guys may have also discussed Samuel Carchidi’s Twitter antics from Monday night.

Postgame 1/16 - Take another little piece of my Hart now, Carter!

1/17/2019
More
Carter Hart was stupendous, Sean Couturier was all over the place, Claude Giroux crossed yet another milestone and the Flyers earned themselves a hard-fought victory over the playoff-bound Boston Bruins. Is their sudden effort frustrating? Absolutely. I try to put all that in perspective in the extra-long edition of the BSH postgame.

Checking out the competition - Boston Bruins

1/16/2019
More
After they incorrectly predicted the outcome of Monday’s game against the Minnesota Wild, Steve and Craig avoided guessing how tonight’s game against the Boston Bruins would end. Instead, they invited Dan Ryan from Stanley Cup of Chowder to provide actual insight on the next opponent of the Orange and Black. On a rather lengthy episode (surprise), the guys talk about: infamous tweet

Ice Sport Radio: What if we already know all of the playoff teams?

1/15/2019
More
After a brief hiatus, Ice Sport Radio is back for a wide look at the NHL standings as a whole, and the gang wonders if the teams currently in playoff spots are destined to stay there through the end of the regular season. The bizarre situation in Columbus with Sergei Bobrovsky, the strange success of the New York Islanders, and of course, the continued mess that is the Edmonton Oilers under Peter Chiarelli all are topics of conversation this time.

Postgame 1/14 - That's kind of what I expected all year

1/14/2019
More
For one night the Flyers showed the formula I expected all year. Iffy goaltending, The Guys I Expect To Score Scored, and the defense was good enough. This could have been fun, boys.

Checking out the competition: Minnesota Wild

1/14/2019
More
With Kelly gallivanting around Europe, somebody decided that Steve and Craig should check out the Philadelphia Flyers’ opponent for this evening, the Minnesota Wild. At 22-19-3, the Wild are holding on to the second wild card in the Western Conference heading into tonight’s action. Although they’ve lost two of their last three, including a 5-2 defeat at the hands of the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday, Minnesota has won four of their six games in 2019 and still have something to play for. In...

Postgame 1/10: Oh yeah, they can win games too!

1/10/2019
More
The Flyers ended the losing streak at 8 games with a win over the Dallas Stars, and you know what? It was kinda fun to watch. Carter Hart was amazing. Travis Konecny came to life. JVR looked good. Jake Voracek looked good. It was a nice break from the doom and gloom that has hung heavy over this team over the past couple of weeks. Bill needed a night off so Kelly took to Facebook to talk it out with you guys.

BSH Radio #191: Bring on the kids!

1/9/2019
More
The Flyers are in free fall and we’re here for it, fam. We didn’t want this to be a #LoseForHughes season but the team put themselves in this position, and we’re just left to ask “what’s the point?” Where are the close to NHL-ready kids? Why are guys like Folin and Varone logging minutes over Myers and Vorobyev? We try to bring some meaning into what has devolved into a lost season on this brand new episode of BSH Radio.

Checking out the competition: Dallas Stars

1/9/2019
More
Well, the Flyers will be going for loss number nine tonight. Which is one away from ten, which they did last year. You could say things aren’t going so well. And tonight, the Dallas Stars are in town. They’re not a powerhouse team, but they are certainly better than the Flyers. So you could say there’s a chance we hit that niner, friends! We spoke with Taylor Baird of Defending Big D to chat about the Stars, and here’s what we came up with: This game is a 7PM start. Those are always nice....

Postgame 1/8 - Did you pay attention? Doesn't matter, just like the season!

1/9/2019
More
The Flyers are a team. They play a sport called hockey. We're gonna talk about the hockey team known as the Flyers. Personally, I think we'd better spend out time talking about Van Halen and pro wrestling, but I don't make the rules around here. Anyway, the Flyers lost 5-3 to the Capitals and if you didn't see the game you'd think, "oh eight total goals, that's cool." It wasn't. But we still found plenty to talk about, as usual. Thanks so much for hanging in through this dumb, useless...

Postgame 1/7 - a shutout loss to a first time starter? I'm shocked! Shocked I say!

1/7/2019
More
The Flyers got shutout by Jordan Binnington, and that's basically all you need to know. But luckily we didn't talk so much about yet another boring, lifeless game and focused more on what's next for this struggling organization. Something tells me we'll be doing a lot of that for these final 40 contests. The upside is, the Blues are now two points down in the Jack Hughes sweepstakes. So there's that. Anyway, Go Birds!

Checking out the competition: St. Louis Blues

1/6/2019

The Blues are in town tonight. The Blues, who are currently living in the basement of the Western Conference. Just the thing a team on a six game losing streak needs! To play a team as messy as they are! Should be a real party. Anyhoo, we spoke with Brad Lee of St. Louis Game Time to preview this next game. We discussed: The game will air Monday at 7PM on NBC Sports Philly locally, and NHL Network outside the area. We'll see how this one goes.

A loser point is bad in the grand scheme of needing Kaapo Kakko in my life, but this was a well earned one point. The Flyers skated with a much better team and didn't look too bad doing it.
