Several hours north, the ladies were dominant in the WCWS thanks to the pitching of Teagan Kavan. She took care of business against Florida and Oklahoma as the starting pitcher and then came in to close things out after Mac Morgan kicked things off strong.

While the Texas Longhorns' baseball team made an early exit from the SEC Tournament, Texas still managed to grab the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Baseball tournament. That not only affords them friendly confines for the first two weekends of the tournament, but also grants them a favorable draw en route to Omaha. The ladies are heading to the Women's College World Series, despite drama to open the Super Regional against the Clemson Tigers. Texas now heads back to Oklahoma City on a collission course with the Oklahoma Sooners if they can get past the Florida Gators.

The winner will head to Oklahoma City for the Women's College World Series.

The ladies make the tournament as one of the top seeds, hosting the first two rounds in Austin, with a clear shot at the Final Four and beyond. The men will have a longer path, sitting as one of the First Four games of the tournament, needing a win to make the field of 64.

The Texas Longhorns entered the tournament as the No. 1 team in the country but the No. 2 team in the tournament, facing a tough road to face off against South Carolina for the third time this season. That road took its toll on the Longhorns and they came up short in the championship game. Elsewhere, the softball team brought its big bats with them to Ohio and dominated opponents from the plate and from the circle. The baseball team also got things going, with the pitching seeming to find its rhythm in a sweep of the weekend.

They may have lost the top seed in the SEC Tournament via coin flip, but they brought home a pair of conference awards and will enjoy two byes en route to bringing home the hardware. While it seemed like the men's team was on the wrong side of the bubble, they managed to pull off a Tuesday night upset and potentially put themselves back on the right side of the tournament watchlist.

The men started the week out with an embarrassing loss to No. 1 Alabama but rebounded with a big win over the Kentucky Wildcats to get another ranked win and continue to build their resume for a shot at the post-season.
