#435: Mario's Ranking & Miami's Recruiting - Georgia Tech is His S*x Tape

2/12/2026
We are Scoop-less this week as his daughter competes in a big soccer tournament, so it's Toast and Roman helming the ship. We quickly dive into this week's ranking of the Top 50 head coaches in college football, where Mario came in at #12... even though he's fresh off the National Championship Game. Toast and Roman both pick apart some of the coaches ahead of Mario on the list, including Dan Lanning at Oregon who Mario has definitely surpassed. The state of the defense comes into question, as we are now missing out on some 5-star recruits (largely due to money) and what that means for recruiting going forward. And we're shocked at how boujee we sound by saying we should be getting all these five-star guys because this was never the state of Miami football! Miami also broke his silence on Darian Mensah this week - calling him an "alpha" - and we hear from him on the state of the program and the "positive anger" they have to get back to the title game. Props to Jai Lucas and the Miami basketball team for knocking off North Carolina in Coral Gables, and how Jai might end up as the ACC Coach of the Year - which would be a WILD turnaround for this program. And while Toast loved the Super Bowl because his team was so dominant, Ro felt like it was a terribly boring game and Drake Maye was seeing horrible ghosts all night. 00:00 Welcome to Episode 435 02:13 Top College Football Coaches Discussion 03:54 Miami Hurricanes' Performance and Future 10:02 Recruitment Challenges and Strategies 14:21 NFL Combine and Player Prospects 20:28 Positive Outlook for Miami Hurricanes 22:13 Miami's Big Win and Coaching Triumph 22:35 Miami's Basketball Journey 24:34 Super Bowl Talk and Sponsors 28:15 Super Bowl Stories and Tax Woes 33:36 Celebrity Gossip and Super Bowl Drama 37:06 Show Wrap-Up and Episode Names This episode is presented by Paul Bange Roofing, Rapid Auto Lease, and BeatinTheBookie.com. #433: OBB Benched: Josh Pray, Wheel of Topics & 5 Questions - Oxtail and Coochie

2/10/2026
We jump into this week's edition of Benched with one of the funniest comedians on social media, back on the show again, it's Josh Pray! And he comes out swinging by taking shots at Miami for losing the National Championship Game and jokes about wanting Miami to be investigated for continuing to pull huge players in the portal. Josh's hate for Miami bleeds through as he takes a look at his Florida Gators, who celebrated winning four games this past season. And we jump into our favorite stories of the week with Josh, starting off Jarrell Miller getting his toupee knocked off during a boxing match. Plus the news report about the Miami-Dade suspect who decided to grab a detective's ass on his way to prison. Josh also weighs in on the iguana problem in South Florida, and whether or not anyone on the show has tried the Iguana Pizza. The topics spin wildly into our favorite Ben Stiller movies, and the Massachusetts man who burned his house down trying to melt ice on his roof with a blowtorch. And we close it out with another hilarious round of Five Questions, and some win-loss game with Josh Pray as we go through Florida's 2026 schedule. #432: Eric MacLain and Miami's Portal Wins - Just Enjoying My Muffin

2/5/2026
We come right out of the gate with ACC Network's Eric MacLain - who for some reason is asked to weigh in our muffin debate... we're a weird show. But of course we get right into the Darian Mensah news and how Eric found out about it and what it means for Miami going into this season. And some jokes about tampering lead us into a debate about what it will take for the NCAA to put some guardrails in place for the portal. Eric also has high praise for Miami's offense, which loaded up in the portal beyond the QB spot, and how it has the potential to be so much more explosive than it was last season. And with more weapons in the WR room and a stacked RB room, Eric thinks that's the blueprint for his prediction of a decade of Miami dominance. Plus our concerns for the defense are quickly squashed by Eric who paints the picture of the defense being just fine with the replacements that are coming in this season. He goes as far as to say Miami is now the best team in the country, and the challenge now is whether they can live up to it. And before he takes off, Eric takes a look around the ACC and offers up some of his predictions and expectations for the teams around the conference. We also kick around CBS Sports predicting Miami as the #1 seed coming into the season, which is especially interesting because they have Notre Dame at #2, setting up an epic showdown for later this year. Plus everyone has an opinion on Mark Ingram picking Malachi Toney as his "way too early" Heisman pick, and how big the Canes will perform in the 2026 NFL Draft. This episode is presented by Paul Bange Roofing,Rapid Auto Lease, Underdog Fantasy, Surf Shark and BeatinTheBookie.com. 00:00 Welcome Eric MacLain Back 01:03 Debate on Muffins and Grocery Stores 02:28 Football Talk: Seahawks and Patriots 03:41 College Football Transfers and Portal 11:28 Miami Hurricanes Football Analysis 13:24 Offensive Line and Receivers Discussion 18:15 Defensive Line and Secondary Insights 23:50 Portal Class and Other Teams 24:49 Defensive Strategies and Portal Acquisitions 25:04 Quarterback Prospects and Offensive Strengths 26:37 Team Evaluations and Expectations 27:29 Listener Interaction and Personal Stories 28:59 Sponsorship Shoutouts and Promotions 42:14 NFL Draft Projections and Player Highlights 45:22 Show Wrap-Up and Show Title Roofing issues? #431: OBB Benched: Wheel of Topics & Five Questions - Spunt

2/2/2026
Every week we will be bringing you a non-Hurricanes theme bonus show called "Benched"! And this week' slate of topics starts with Sam Darnold's grandfather whose real name is Dick Hammer, leading us into a conversation about the worst names ever and things we think we could hammer with our 'members'. There's also the curious case of an Australian woman who was eaten by dingos, paired with the story about the Australian cyclist who completed the Tour Down Under bike race this week despite running into two kangaroos. That spins into a debate about who takes the mantle as the best Australian ever. The winter storm last week brought us some amazing audio of a weather girl in Oklahoma who mistakenly asked for people's "measurements" on Facebook. And everyone has some big laughs at the guy who went viral this week for charging guests $450 to attend his wedding because he already "spunt" a lot of money. Finally a salute to the garage fridge from a viral tweet this week, and the unbelievable audio of a man getting tazed during a high school basketball fight in the south. And we round out this new weekly bonus show with Five Questions! This week we talk about what put a smile on our face this week, the most financially irresponsible thing we've seen someone do, what people should be forced to have on their license (which spins into a wild conversation about our favorite movies), what book you can judge by its cover, and the most disturbing thing we've ever seen. This episode is presented by Paul Bange Roofing,Rapid Auto Lease, Underdog Fantasy, the Miami Hurricane Team Store, and BeatinTheBookie.com. 00:00 Welcome to OBB Benched 01:34 Hilarious Names Discussion 06:22 Australian Adventures 13:02 Wedding Cover Charge Controversy 17:14 Garage Fridge Eulogy 19:37 Basketball Tasing Incident 22:12 Unexpected Concussions and Malfunctioning Gadgets 22:42 Ryan's Misfortune and a Smile-Worthy Week 24:26 Financial Irresponsibility and Dumb Gifts 26:24 License Requirements and Movie Debates 36:38 Disturbing Experiences and Dark Humor 41:39 Hilarious T-Shirt Ideas and Show Wrap-Up Roofing issues? #430: Darian Mensah & Miami's 2026 Schedule - Peanut Butter on His Dinger

1/29/2026
We randomly open up on Robert Saleh's huge family as we venture into one of the most active offseason weeks we've seen in a long time. And no time is wasted getting down to Greentree as we finally get the settlement in the Darian Mensah case and he's now officially committed to Miami. Nailing the top quarterback in the portal, though, loses its luster a little when 24-7 ranks him as the SIXTH best quarterback available this offseason. Plus we run down all the big portal additions and it really feels like Miami reloaded in their short portal window and brought in some top talent. Scoop and Roman really go deep into what to expect from Mensah as he gets ready to take to the Greentree, and Roman explains that his tweet that aligned Mensah closer to Cam Ward than Carson Beck was NOT a shot at Beck, but a nod to Mensah's style. Plus these offensive weapons coming into the year might be the best we've seen in years, which is saying a lot after going 23-5 in the last two seasons. The 2026 season also dropped this week, with a bunch of weeknight games and a couple of tough ones on the road, a seeming lack of respect for the runners up to the National Championship this year. And there are already 11-1 predictions being thrown around and debates about what unexpected team is going to jump up and be a problem for the Canes. We also throw some congratulations to the Canes who will be playing in the Super Bowl, play some hilarious audio from a drunk Seahawks fan on the local news, and close out the show with the debate about Bill Belichick being snubbed from the Hall of Fame. This episode is presented by Paul Bange Roofing,Rapid Auto Lease, Underdog Fantasy, the Miami Hurricane Team Store, and BeatinTheBookie.com. 00:00 Introduction and Casual Banter 02:34 Darian Mensah Joins Miami 03:21 Analyzing the Transfer Portal and Player Moves 13:12 Offensive Line and Team Strategy 16:48 Upcoming Season Schedule and Key Games 22:46 Partners and Sponsors 26:46 Super Bowl Excitement and Miami Hurricanes 29:04 Seattle Seahawks Fan Reactions 30:19 Florida College Football Coaches 33:32 Bill Belichick Hall of Fame Snub 40:53 Final Thoughts and Episode Wrap-Up Roofing issues? #429: Miami National Championship Aftermath - Priests

1/22/2026
Well... is it a Recap Show? Is it an off-season show? It's both! We are back to break down the aftermath of the National Championship Game. Toast's voice is SHOT and he's really concerned that Scoop and Roman aren't as cooked as he is. But even though we're reluctant to rehash the pain of this special teams loss, because it's something that wasn't on our radar, as Roman really goes in on the blocked punt. Toast tries his hardest to be the voice of reason, saying the missed field goal could have made a big difference down the stretch, and Scoop tells the heart-breaking story of how his daughter burst into tears after the blocked punt. The debate rages about the future of the program, and whether you have the right guys in the culture going forward. And Roman speaks bluntly about the late-game interceptions by Carson Beck - aside from him being very good for a large majority of the season - and he's looking for an upgrade under center next season. Toast responds to the criticism of Beck very strongly, and Scoop tries to break down the last interception, trying to figure out if there were better throws he left on the field. We dial down on some of the bigger headlines after the game, including Mark Fletcher's incident on the field after the game and how the remarks about his father are what really set him off. Plus we hear from new official OBB Eric MacLain who said on ACC Network that Miami is set up for a decade of dominance, and audio from Mario about what he said to the team immediately after the loss. And Scoop talks about all the guys from this team that he's going to miss because they are truly the best thing to happen to Miami football in 25 years. Roman polls the show to see who called for Mario's firing after some of the bigger losses - to which no one raises their hand. And Toast polls the show with a higher-or-lower question about whether Miami wins a Natty within the next three years... and Scoop and Ro both go under! And we address the situation with Mensah - who IS now in the Portal - and how that deal could still come together even if it takes a little more time than expected. And if they don't land him, we try to dissect how the quarterback competition would shake out. We also close out our Pick Ems for the 2025, as Toast wins the season picks for the first time in a few years. And Roman brings back the one and only FIVE QUESTIONS - which this week includes examples of things that are suspiciously nice, what industry would collapse if people couldn't lie, what we think is on the dark side of the moon, the best scene in TV history, and what company has the worst logo. This episode is presented by Paul Bange Roofing,Rapid Auto Lease, Underdog Fantasy, the Miami Hurricane Team Store, and BeatinTheBookie.com. 00:00 Introduction and Episode Setup 00:43 Game Recap and Initial Reactions 03:07 Special Teams Blunders and Frustrations 15:00 Quarterback Performance and Key Plays 28:20 Future Prospects and Team Culture 40:36 Legal Troubles and NIL Expiration 41:14 Spring Practice and New Players 42:19 Reflecting on the Championship Game 43:47 Sponsors and Partners 47:45 Miami Football Future Predictions 57:20 Five Questions Segment 01:12:09 Closing Remarks and Show Titles Roofing issues? #428: Miami NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW with Eric MacLain and Roddy Jones! - 200 Pounds Waiting to Be Touched

1/15/2026
We are merely days away from the Miami Hurricanes in the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME! It's #10 Miami vs the world-beating prematurely-declared-winner #1 Indiana Hoosiers, Monday night in our building! This is a preview show for the ages!! Things open with everyone on edge - with Toast even saying this is the most nervous he's ever been for a show. Plus we touch on the parking mess that is unfolding at Hard Rock Stadium, which we are willing to overlook because it still hasn't sunk in that we're actually playing in the National Championship. And as we get down to Greentree we take a look at the Indiana fans, who are the weirdest group of fans we've ever interacted with. We are joined right off the tip by ACC Network host and ESPN analyst ERIC MACLAIN, who comes to the table in Miami gear, and immediately gets into the strangeness of Indiana fans. Eric also lays out the road for Miami following the SMU game and what changed after that game for the Hurricanes. Ro also gets Eric's opinion on the coaching prowess in the ACC compared to some of the other conferences, something that could give Miami an advantage going into games like these. We also talk with Eric about the evolution of the Miami offense over the last two months of the season, his impressions of Carson Beck's leadership and intellect, and the true impact that Rueben Bain and Akheem Mesidor have on a game. Plus Eric gives his keys to beating Indiana and it all starts with Fernando Mendoza having time to throw the ball. Then our old friend and OBB alum RODDY JONES jumps in - feature heavily on ESPN's College Football coverage this year! And right off the bat he breaks the news to the show that he's picking Indiana in this game, even though he picked Miami to win the title on TV. At which point we ask Roddy to lay out where Indiana has the advantages in this game. He also thinks that no matter how good Indiana is, they are still going to have a hard time with Bain and Mesidor up front. And we get Roddy's official score, and what it would take for him to be wrong about picking the Hoosiers. And we close out with everyone's Three Keys to a Miami win - which include Beck's decision making, playing clean without penalties and finding ways to limit Fernando Mendoza. Jenners also asks everyone on the show what they are willing to sacrifice to see Miami win a title on Monday night. And everyone makes their picks for the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!! MIAMI ADVANCES TO THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME - Orange Bowl Boys FULL Recap Show

1/9/2026
We roll out the FULL Recap Show as we settle into the idea that Miami is actually going to play for a National Championship!! Roman says this would be the most iconic and improbable run any Miami team has ever pulled off, and Scoop and Toast spent the entire day watching highlights and recaps and soaking it all in. And the question begs... if Miami does manage to win the entire thing... do we officially end the podcast? Well... NO WAY. Toast wants to start by giving Carson Beck his flowers, largely for the final drive of the game, because if he gets this done he'll go down in history as one of the greatest Canes of all time. But there were a lot of negatives to discuss, even if Scoop is too happy to argue about that stuff right now. The offensive game plan, the penalties, the missed calls... there was a lot that broke our way to make up for those miscues. And of course everyone has an opinion on the debate of the day... whether there should have been pass interference called on the final Hail Mary of the game. Plus we hear Alfre Alvarez's electric Spanish call of the Carson Beck game-winning touchdown, and we all have some high praise for Trinidad Chambliss who we all agree could be a star at the NFL level. We also talk about Mario's emotions last night, especially since it probably killed him to admit that most of the Miami team had the flu, because he would want to win with his guys at full strength. And we hear from the sports bettors in Vegas who are really afraid for Miami to win because their futures were the worst of the Playoff teams. As we wrap things up, we would have to mention the rushing game, which showed up BIG against Ole Miss. And we touch on the wild Sam Leavitt rumors that are swirling tonight and how IF that happened, it would be three straight years of nailing the top quarterback in the portal. Closing things out is the rant from our friend, comedian and Gator fan Josh Pray who sends us out on a laugh! This episode is presented by Paul Bange Roofing, Rapid Auto Lease, the Miami Hurricane Team Store, and BeatinTheBookie.com. 00:00 Epic Game Recap: Miami's National Championship Journey 01:05 Emotional Reflections and Highlights 02:36 The Road to the National Championship 03:47 Game Analysis and Key Moments 06:22 Strategic Decisions and Player Performances 09:12 Controversial Calls and Final Thoughts 11:56 Player Highlights and Future Prospects 28:40 Recruitment and Team Depth 31:07 Post-Game Reactions and Future Prospects 31:34 Mario Cristobal's Coaching and Team's Health 33:36 Celebration and Trophy Discussion 35:15 Recruitment and Future Strategies 42:48 Quarterback Situation and Transfer Portal 46:05 Upcoming Episodes and Guest Announcements 49:52 Miami's Community Impact 54:59 Final Thoughts and Sign-Off Roofing issues? #426: Miami vs Ole Miss Semifinal Preview - Uncle Rico Under Center

1/7/2026
It's the PLAYOFF SEMIFINAL PREVIEW SHOW!!! #10 MIAMI vs #6 OLE MISS in the VRBO Fiesta Bowl... for a shot to play for the National Championship on January 19th!! We are all HYPED as we get ready to take on Ole Miss for a shot to play at HOME for the National Championship... even if they make us sit on the visitor side because we would technically be the lower seed if we make it. And we open with an all-time quote from OC Shannon Dawson - "if the ball's in your hands, the program's in your hands" - as we dissect how the offense performed against Ohio State and how that will translate to the Rebels. But before we get too far into Ole Miss we have to relive the Kionte Scott pick 6 as called by Joe Zagaki on WQAM, which leads us into some of our favorite moments from the win over Ohio State. And as the analysts believe that the "stars are aligned" for Ole Miss to continue their run, we feel like these are guys who are still looking at things through the lens of the SEC, which has crumbled this season. Plus it wouldn't be a show if we didn't take a minute to laugh at the downward spiral of FSU as they have 33 players in the portal as of this show. That leads to a brief conversation about the madness in the portal, and whether Miami will be in the running for a portal QB or if the fanbase is going to have to prepare for a true QB competition. And Toast addresses some of the "big spenders" in the NIL market and how Canes fans should be prepared to not be the biggest spender, but rather get the guys that Mario wants because we trust his roster building acumin. Then we go BIG with the Ole Miss preview, as Roman spent time in the film room and thinks that despite what Mario is saying, Ole Miss is not the best team the Canes will face in the Playoff... that was Ohio State. And while Trinidad Chambliss is a very special player, who had a lot to say about Miami's defense not disrupting their offensive scheme, it was Miami who has found a way to slow down mobile quarterbacks this season. Everyone drops their keys to a Miami win over Ole Miss, which include pressuring Chambliss, limiting your penalties, hammering the run game, making all your kicks, watching the roll-out plays and Carson Beck's poise. And we make our picks and predictions for the Semifinal games, including everyone's pick for Miami vs Ole Miss. #424: Miami vs Ohio State Playoff Preview - A Thruple's Embrace

12/30/2025
It's the PLAYOFF QUARTERFINALS PREVIEW SHOW!!! #10 MIAMI vs #2 OHIO STATE in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic. Everyone is hyped coming into one of the biggest shows we've ever done, with Ohio State players talking a lot in the media this week and how players like Jeremiah Smith could have been a Hurricane if this team was built like it is now. And while we understand that narrative, Scoop isn't buying into guys who only want to play for "good" teams instead of helping build a winner. Plus we have to discuss the history of things, and how important this rematch is for those of us who remember being robbed of a National Championship in 2003 and what it means for Canes fans. Miami comes into this game as a 10-point dog, and we're surprised that the spread is that big, especially to Roman who did a lot of film work on Ohio State this week. Scoop also comes in with some numbers to paint the picture of Shannon Dawson's offense versus Matt Patricia's defense, and how Dawson will need to call the game of his life to find a way to beat a Super Bowl winning DC. We also get clips from Carson Beck feeling confident in the game plan, Shannon Dawson responding to haters from the A&M low-scoring game, and even Colin Cowherd who is now suddenly all over the Miami bandwagon. We are also SO PROUD to announce that we've extended our partnership with the amazing staff at Paul Bange Roofing for another season of the Orange Bowl Boys! To celebrate (?) we get a check-in from our very own I.P. Daley who checks in from Dallas and as always burns the house down. And the question is posed about whether the running game for Miami can be as effective against Ohio State as it was against Texas A&M, specifically Mark Fletcher, and Ro says he doesn't have to go nuclear to still run away with a game. Everyone brings out their Keys to the Game to win against Ohio State - including converting on 3rd downs, playing the villain, keeping Beck's pants clean (again), pressure from the front four, hitting kicks and keeping OH's offense off the field. And we do our quarter-final picks for the Orange Bowl, Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl and of course the Cotton Bowl picks for Miami vs Ohio State. MIAMI WINS 10-3 AT TEXAS A&M IN THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF!! - Orange Bowl Boys Recap Show

12/21/2025
It's a PLAYOFF VICTORY RECAP SHOW!! Everyone opens with high praise for Corey Hetherman as the defense played absolutely out of their MINDS yesterday, holding Texas A&M to 3 points at Kyle field. Toast lays out the stat of the week - that Miami has allowed only 44 points in the last five games - three of which were conference games, and an SEC Playoff game on the road. There is also a lot of credit and love to go around on the defensive side of the ball. We have SO much audio to dive into, including Alfre Alvarez's Spanish call of Toney's late touchdown, and we relive Fitzgerald's game-winning interception and talk about how impressive he was in that game, and has been all-season for a freshman. And what a freshmen combo between him and Toney, who were both heroes yesterday. And Mark Fletcher's performance yesterday was impressive enough, but even more so when he talked about consoling Malachi Toney after the costly fumble. That also leads Scoop into a breakdown of the running backs and how (and why) they utilized Mark Fletcher as much as they did yesterday. There is also high praise for the line of scrimmage, as even Mike Elko said after the game that Miami dominated them in the trenches and how that lost them the game. Rhett Lashley and Eric MacLain from the ACC Network had very high praise for the Canes, saying that the gap between the ACC and SEC has closed significantly, especially when you look at teams like Miami. Plus we get into all the points that were left on the field for Miami yesterday - including CJ Daniels getting a few steps on the defender and the throw coming up a little short, and Malachi's punt return that went all the way down to the 25 and the Canes walked away without points. The end of the game becomes a point of contention - on whether Malachi should have run out of bounds to set up the game-winning field goal, or to take the TD (as they did) and try to stump A&M offense, which almost blew up in their face. It was still a WILD game and we had a blast taking it all in on our live stream. Up next... OHIO STATE ON NEW YEAR'S EVE!! MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM OUR ENTIRE CREW AT THE ORANGE BOWL BOYS!! We are so thankful for all the support this year and love being on this ride with the best fanbase in all of sports. #422: Miami vs Texas A&M Playoff Preview - Keep His Pants Clean

12/18/2025
It's the PLAYOFF PREVIEW SHOW!!! We are joined by PGA Champion Andrew Novak, fresh off a big win last weekend, and a lifelong Canes fan - as we get ready for the biggest game we've seen in probably 20 years. As we get down to Greentree, Toast admits that he's starting to feel the anticipation, while Scoop and Roman are still pretty chill. Ro also has done a lot of film breakdown in the last week and is starting to feel a swell of confidence as he compares Miami to Texas A&M, and calls the Canes walking out with a win. Texas A&M running back Rueben Owens II rustled a lot of Miami's feathers this week when he said Miami's run defense "isn't a challenge." And Roman breaks down what to be on the lookout for from Marcell Reed because he's not a strong pocket passer. Toast also wants to address the 800-pound gorilla in the room, asking if anyone is worried about the 11am Central start time, but everyone thinks that this team isn't going to falter in this situation. Plus Josh Pate weighs in with his pick for the game - which goes to Texas A&M - and Roman immediately throws a monkey wrench in Pate's logic by saying it's all on Malachi Toney. Toast also gives the edge to Carson Beck in the QB battle, and Scoop thinks it will come down to how much protection the offensive line gives him. And we finally got a check in from I.P. Daley ahead of this epic Playoff weekend, and he doesn't disappoint! Everyone lays out their keys to the game, including pinning Marcell Reed in the pocket, avoiding third and long, trusting in Carson Beck to deliver, not playing scared and getting some big plays over the top. There is also transfer portal news that has Lagway coming to Miami, which no one on the show believes, and we debate who Miami might target at QB1 and whether Sam Leavitt or CJ Bailey is that guy. Toast cuts off some time to roast the ACC for the horrible split schedule, which everyone thinks is a horrible idea as it will drop the entire conference out of balance. And some quick congrats to Fernando Mendoza for bringing home the Heisman, as we debate where he might land in the draft. Plus we close it out with a round of Pick 'Ems for the first round of the College Football Playoff, including everyone's prediction for the Miami game! This episode is presented by Paul Bange Roofing, the Miami Hurricane Team Store, and BeatinTheBookie.com. 00:00 Introduction and Excitement for Playoffs 00:45 PGA Tour Champion Andrew Novak 01:20 Discussion on Miami Hurricanes' Fanbase and History 03:58 Analyzing the Upcoming Game Against Texas A&M 29:23 Partners and Sponsors 40:03 Keys to the Game 43:48 Transfer Portal and Quarterback Rumors 45:00 Portal Quarterbacks and Team Dynamics 50:40 Conference Game Controversies 57:21 College Football Playoff Picks 01:03:12 Miami vs. Texas A&M Predictions 01:09:26 Final Thoughts Roofing issues? #421: Miami Playoff Selection Aftermath - Is Estonia a Real Place?

12/12/2025
Toast has a whole new background in his studio, and Scoop celebrates a milestone birthday as we kick off this week's show, which is all about the aftermath of Miami making the College Football Playoff. We also have some All-American honors as Malachi Toney rakes in titles across the board, beyond just the Freshman group, and how he could be a Heisman favorite going into next season. And everyone has opinions about what Miami will go shopping for in the portal this upcoming season, especially how the quarterback might look over the next few years. We also take a look at the status of our two coordinators, as Shannon Dawson and Corey Hetherman's names have come up in a lot of coaching discussions this offseason. And the fallout with Miami being the last team in, and Notre Dame being the first team out, has exploded across the College Football landscape, including Notre Dame AD Pete Bevacqua trying to burn down ND's relationship with the ACC. That includes amazing audio from Big12 Commissioner Brett Yormark burning the Notre Dame AD for the way he handled Miami missing the Playoffs. Our friend and our NEW MERCH partner AB joins the show to announce the new line of OBB merch available for sale at www.aboutthefans.com including the "A Gap for Life" shirt that helped change Miami's offensive direction going into the last four games of the season. And lifelong Canes fan AB talks about celebrating the moment of Miami getting selected with his 9-year-old son, and what that moment has really meant to true Miami fans who have suffered from the outside for the last 20 years. And while Notre Dame's national media collapse was initially the story of the week, Michigan said "hold my beer" by firing head coach Sherrone Moore with cause which spun into one of the wildest stories of the year so far. Plus audio from Eric MacLain on the ACC Network saying Miami is going to be a "matchup nightmare" for Texas A&M because they are a team that cannot be bullied. Everyone also has thoughts about Utah Athletics partnering with private equity for the future of their athletic program and how this will be a test case for the entire college football world going forward. We close out the show with Marcell Reed on RG3's podcast, responding to Robert's "Estonian" wife, asking about what would happen if Miam offered him $4 million, some funny audio of the week from UConn head coach Dan Hurley, and everyone's picks for the Army-Navy game! MIAMI MAKES THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF - Orange Bowl Boys 2025 Reaction Show

12/7/2025
We are STUNNED that the #10 Miami Hurricanes made the field for the 2025 College Football Playoff and we simply cannot believe that we finally leaped Notre Dame. And how did Alabama stay at #9 after that SEC title loss? There are so many emotions to process as we try to digest, including Toast and Scoop admitting they were wrong about Miami being left out of this playoff. Roman is also very happy to have been the lone voice of positivity in the grand scheme of things. Plus we start to take a look at the game on December 20th at Texas A&M, which is somehow a Noon game (which we love for Miami) and how Notre Dame just up and quit on American by pulling out of their bowl game after being passed over for the CFP. Props also go out to Duke for taking down Virginia, even though it means they are left out of the Playoff, and accolades go out to Joe and Rudy for going all in and believing that Miami could be the football program of old again. We also try to figure out how Alabama made it in with 3 losses over teams like Texas who are much better than they are, and how the play to keep them and drop Miami blew up in their face. And everyone tries to make sense of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Notre Dame and the CFP that ND would automatically make the playoffs if they are ranked in the Top 12 next season. Plus some AMAZING audio from our friend Josh Pray, hilarious Notre Dame fan reactions, and even Paul Finebaum shutting down Notre Dame fans for all the whining they've done today after getting passed over. Toast also runs down the current CFP first round schedule, with A&M opening as a 4 point favorite over the Canes, and there's no surprise that the G5 schools are huge underdogs, and everyone is super excited for the potential to get past Texas A&M and have a rematch against Ohio State for the 2002 National Championship. #419: Conference Championship Week - $200 and a Box of Crumbl Cookies

12/4/2025
We open with optimistic Scoop this week as we open Episode 419, and get right down to Greentree to start breaking down the crux of the national college football conversation... Miami vs Notre Dame in the Playoff rankings. And it becomes more obvious each week that the committee is completely changing the rules and making up new metrics to fit whatever narrative they choose. Everyone also has strong feelings about committee chair Hunter Yurachek as he tries to explain this jackassery every week on national television. You can always gauge how far things go off the rail by whether they land on President Trump's desk, and sure enough Secretary of State Marco Rubio brought up Miami's potential to get screwed in a cabinet meeting this week! Even Duke head coach Manny Diaz agrees that Miami should be in the Playoffs even with all his history with the Hurricanes. And Texas coach Steve Sarkisian took a shot at Miami while lobbying for the Longhorns, but in reality he just needed to beat Florida and just mind his own business. Plus Roman wants to know where everyone puts their percentage of Miami making it into the Playoffs. Signing Day was another HUGE win for the Canes, with the top class in the ACC for the fourth straight season, with some certified studs to keep Miami in contention for years to come. Plus even more audio from Josh Pate, breaking down why the Miami vs Notre Dame argument holds NO water, and even Colin Cowherd backing the U after tearing us down only two weeks ago. And we briefly touch on the Lane Kiffin drama at Ole Miss and how much of a weasel he was on his way out. James Franklin's drama with Penn State also takes the stage as we have some fun with the wild coaching hires this past week. And we close it out with Championship Weekend picks for all the big games! MIAMI WINS 38-7 at Pitt - Orange Bowl Boys 2025 Week 14 Recap Show

11/29/2025
The Miami Hurricanes came up with one of the most dominating wins of the season when they needed it most, demolishing the Pitt Panthers 38-7 on the road and making a resounding statement for the College Football Playoff. Scoop jolins us drunk from Thanksgiving vacation and comes in hot with strong words for Notre Dame in the wake of the coming debate. And while everyone has big props for the offense, Scoop wants to know if our "A Gap for Life" jarring made a difference in the change of pace offensively. Toast also makes a case for a positive return on investment in this coaching staff, after having very little faith earlier in the season... even if we don't get a Playoff bid after all this upswing the last month. Roman also supports Toast's idea to have an ACC Committee to ensure the best teams in the conference make the playoffs, largely due to the conference's unbalanced schedule, even if it would be a really hard process to moderate. And there aren't enough good things to say about Malachi Toney, who is not only the best freshmen in the country, but quite possibly the best player in the country. And from there the debate ensues about whether that young man should have a place in New York during the Heisman finals. We hear from Mario Cristobal on the field after the win, advocating for Miami to be a Playoff team, as well as Nick Saban on GameDay saying Miami might be the most dangerous team if they get into the CFP. And with all that, Roman still offers a heart-to-heart with Canes fans to prepare themselves for Miami to get screwed and not get in... but that's okay, because it's who we are as a fan base. Scoop agrees, but lays out that Miami did not get screwed but rather did this to themselves after those losses. And we close things out with some shoutouts - one to our friend Joe who hooked Toast and Roman up with bourbon advent calendars. And another from Scoop to Joe Echeverria and Rudy Fernandez for showing what it means to lead from the position of a football fan and blaze a path forward for years to come. #417: Miami Week 14 at Pitt - A Little Gobbler Under the Giblets

11/26/2025
Miami comes in at #12 in this week's College Football Playoff rankings, and immediately the conversation goes to all the things that need to happen for the Canes to get an at-large bid... because they won't be the ACC Champion. And Playoff math kicks into full gear as we try to figure out if a 3-loss Alabama team (should they lose the SEC Championship Game) over a 2-loss Miami team. Scoop also goes in on Joey Galloway, who has made it a point to rail on Miami in recent weeks, and Roman is beside himself that the ACC is suddenly ALL for the Canes. Scott Van Pelt came in on the side of Miami this week, arguing that the Canes didn't have a "bad" loss, while teams like Utah haven't really beaten anyone. Roman also wants to know if Miami would rather rematch SMU in an ACC Championship Game or stay out and try for an at-large bid, and everyone falls in on different sides of the argument. And we finally turn our attention to this week's matchup at Pitt, as everyone lays out their Three Keys to the Game - which include watching their running back, tackling better, getting pressure with the front four, and playing a clean game. This cold weather game is also a big concern for everyone, with Miami's tendency to struggle in games below 40 degrees. We also bounce around some of the bigger topics of the week, including FSU announcing that Mike Norvell would return for another season and what that means for the future of that program. Lane Kiffin's announcement also comes up, and how much this will hurt Ole Miss, but no one is surprised because Lane has done this everywhere he's been. Plus some hilarious Thanksgiving audio from UConn head coach Dan Hurley. And we close out the show with a huge round of Pick 'Ems for rivalry week!
