Episode 161 Details NEWS REAL CHRISTMAS TREES MAY HAVE INSECTS The Department of Agriculture is advising checking the trunk, branches, and needles for any signs of the lantern fly and reporting any findings immediately to the department. They are requesting that people inspect their real Christmas trees for these invasive insects. The lantern fly can cause significant damage to plants and trees, so it’s crucial to inspect your tree before bringing it indoors. BEER SPA BierBath is set to open in Sykesville, Maryland on December 9th. The spa features hot baths infused with hops and barley that are said to provide detoxifying benefits. After relaxing, guests can continue on to enjoy a taproom featuring 30 different beers. UGLY CHRISTMAS TREE TREND The Ugly Christmas Sweater has taken on a whole new look. Ugly Christmas Trees are trending in 2023. According to CBC News, people are adorning their trees with pom poms and feathers while others are opting for a Christmas Cactus or buying an ugly Christmas tree from sites like Amazon that resembles the one in the Charlie Brown cartoon. A 15 inch Redneck Christmas Tree is selling on Amazon for $15. It’s nothing more than a toilet plunger with several Evergreen branches and on red ornament. The description reads: “Toilet plunger base with wooden handle makes a great holiday gag. Can be decorated with ornaments or left bare. Decoration only - plunger not designed for actual use. HOW TO TALK HUNTING WITH NON-HUNTERS From time to time we are all challenged with how to go about visiting with people that are not hunters. At times, with both sides of the fence passionate about their feelings, a heated discussion can result. But it does not have to. When sharing why you hunt with a non-hunter it is important to have patience and respect. Tigger & BEC often use the discussion as a reason to talk about wildlife conservation. How there is importance to find balance in nature. Cities are growing meaning that areas for wildlife to roam are smaller and smaller. If populations of wildlife are not managed then circumstances of disease can result. Having a calm conversation and allowing both sides to share their feelings without judgment goes a long way. Make the discussion a safe place to share, and then use it as a moment to educate. Practice patience and respect will go a long way and are more likely to have a positive conversation. HOLIDAY LOCATION & GIFT TURNED INTO A TRIP Dollars are tight this time of year for everyone plus there is the stress too of hosting or arranging travel to have everyone home in time. Instead of gifts, book a Christmas getaway that is not as far away for everyone! Consider looking at the map and picking a central location for all to travel to that might be easier than everyone coming “Home”. For example, say Mom & Dad live in North Dakota but members of your family now live in places like Nebraska. Meet in the middle, and turn the holiday into a memorable trip! A location for that might be the Black Hills in South Dakota. Search an area on the map that is between everyone, then search that area for a vacation home rental. There are places like AirBnB or VRBO as well as an assortment of other reputable vacation home rental places that will offer great alternatives. Eliminate the stress of cleaning and preparing your home, and treat everyone to an affordable getaway that is the gift. Spend time as a family checking out hiking trails, shopping in quaint towns and enjoy exploring the area...

Episode 159 Details The holidays may be upon us now with Thanksgiving only days away... BUT the real countdown is on for the WNFR, the 65th Annual Wrangler National Finals Rodeo that kicks off December 7th - 16th in Las Vegas! If you've not made this a Bucket List event to attend when Vegas Goes Country, then it needs to be! From the Cowboy Christmas Shopping to the Country Music Entertainment nightly covering Classic Country to Hot New Country to Outlaw Country, and then of course the best rodeo action in the world. NEWS NEW PUBLIC LAND ACQUISITION LARGER THAN YELLOWSTONE According to Outdoorlife.com; outdoor enthusiasts, especially those hunters and anglers in the Northwest, will soon have access to 15,573 acres of public land in eastern Oregon. The acquisition of the Minam River Wildlife Area was highlighted in a recent press release from the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, which worked with state, federal, and private partners to bring the land under public ownership. When combined with the neighboring Eagle Cap Wilderness and the Minam State Recreation Area, the acquisition stitches together a block of public land that’s larger than Yellowstone National Park. It will also improve hunting access to an additional 6,000 acres of land owned by the U.S. Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management. Hunters, anglers, and other users will be able to access the Minam River Wildlife Area from April 1 to Nov. 30. It will remain closed to the public for the rest of the year. While this closure will put the area off-limits for any late-season hunting and fishing, it’s meant to protect big game on their wintering range. A grand opening celebration is currently slated for June 2024. FLORIDA 200 POUND PYTHON A massive 17-foot, 198-pound Burmese python was recently captured in South Florida. It is the second-largest snake ever caught in the state. The Python was caught during a cold front, making it even more unusual as snakes typically remain sedentary during colder temperatures. FACEBOOK & INSTAGRAM SUED FOR ADDICTION According to Newser magazine, 41 states have filed a lawsuit against Facebook and Instagram. They are accusing them of intentionally trying to make kids addicted to their platforms. The lawsuit alleges that Facebook collects data on children under 13 without parental consent. The states also claim that Facebook algorithms are designed to hook children with features like the “infinite scroll”. TINDER ADDS NEW FEATURE According to Verge, Tinder, the dating app, has launched a new feature called Matchmaker. It allows a member’s friends and family members to pick potential partners for them. Users review the dating candidates suggested by their loved ones. They then have the final say on who they like. HOT TUB HEALTH BENEFITS A new study by Coventry University reveals that soaking in a hot tub may produce the same health benefits as going for a half-hour jog. Researchers had dozens of study participants soak for 30 minutes. The participants experienced major boosts in cardiovascular levels that were comparable to running. Blood flow to their legs increased by 345% while average heart rates shot up 31 beats per minute. The participants’ blood pressure also dropped significantly. Researchers found that a hot tub posed excellent benefits to both physical and mental health. The relaxed feeling of a hot tub is something enjoyable which makes the use of a hot tub even more desirable for improving health. FEATURE WHAT CAUSES THE WILD OR THE GAMEY TASTE IN VENISON? NEWS BEAR AWARE: Officials in areas prone to bears are warning people that your fall-themed decorations which include pumpkins and squash, can actually attract bears. Wildlife Officials say that the bears right now are eating as much as possible to fill up before going into hibernation for the winter. 101 Uses for WD-40: Pumpkins, Squash & Gourds. WD-40 can keep pumpkins fresh and pest-free by spraying them with WD-40 products. The spray’s invisible coat of protection makes it difficult for bugs to feast on the gourd. The scent of WD-40, with its citrus undertones and vanilla profile, also helps deter pests. Note - If you have dogs, WD-40 is not recommended to be used as the canine may lick and digest. Strength Training Over Cardio: A recent Stanford University study has revealed that strength training is more effective for burning fat and building muscle than cardio. Researchers had participants partake in a 9-month exercise routine. Those who did strength training three times a week had better progress than those who did cardio or a combination of both. So there’s a bit of proof that we all need to keep hunting, fishing, and packing in all that gear… it builds muscle while losing the fat! NEWS RECORD WALLEYE CAUGHT South Dakota’s famed Lake Oahe, a reservoir inside the Missouri River water system, has produced what is speculated to be the next South Dakota state-record walleye. Aaron Schuck of Bismarck, North Dakota was fishing with a deep diving crankbait when a whopper walleye struck his plug. Official weighing on certified scales took place at Oahe Sunset Lodge and Steakhouse by the owner Lisa Moser, located near the town of Pollock, South Dakota. Twice yearly elk migrations occur as large bunches of elk move out of the park and make a pit stop in Estes Park. Traffic jams occur as the elk cross streets or from gawking tourists trying to get pictures of these massive animals bedded down in residents' front yards to experience the golf course closed as it is a favorite hangout for the elk. The migration is not a quick one either, can take a couple of weeks as the various bunches move leisurely. The fall migration is a must-see as the massive bulls are herding the females but it is to be viewed with caution. The rut is on and the bulls can be aggressive. NEWS HUNTER EDUCATION PROTECTED According to Outdoor News, President Joe Biden has signed the Protecting Hunting Heritage and Education Act, which protects funding for schools that provide hunter education, archery, shooting sports and other programs. The signature comes after both chambers of the U.S. Congress solidly passed the legislation that fixes language from the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act of 2022 that potentially allowed the U.S. Department of Education to pull federal funding from schools that have hunter education, archery and other shooting sports programs. FLORIDA ENCOURAGES RESIDENTS OUTDOORS According to WFLA, News Channel 8: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has announced a new initiative that went into effect this week to encourage Floridians to get outside, including discounts to state parks and for obtaining hunting and fishing licenses. The Great Outdoors Initiative was created to encourage residents to explore Florida’s state parks, recreation areas, and waterways. The executive order directs the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to offer 50% off annual state park passes and Gold Sportsman's hunting and fishing licenses. Episode 154 Details Pheasant season is here in the North! Tigger & BEC spent last weekend's opener sharing the time with their nephews and taking out family. Tigger of course had to rib BEC as at the last minute she did a "No-No" and decided to switch from her pump 12-gauge shotgun to her over-under; and was skunked. But it all happens to the best of us! NEWS HIGH SCHOOL: FLY FISHING CLASS An innovative English class introduced Maine high school students to fly fishing this fall. Nokomis Regional High School in Newport, Maine introduced this fall an innovative English elective class that focuses on fly fishing. The goal, to engage students by immersing them in the outdoors. The instructor, Nick Miller, was asked by the principal if he was to teach a nontraditional class, would he be interested and if given the opportunity, what would it be. Mr. Nick Miller chose his favorite hobby, Fly Fishing. Thus far students have been taught basics in fly fishing including going out to several bodies of water to actually fish. Later in the semester, once to chilly outside they will begin reading works such as Norman Maclean’s “A River Runs Through It” (a book made famous by the movie of same name featuring actor Brad Pitt), and transition the outdoors relatability into more of a traditional English Class. VERMONT POACHER CAUGHT IN ACTION After a years-long court process, the Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife after instances dating back three years are now able to put to rest a poaching case. After reports of poaching by a 43-year-old male, the Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife staged a dummy deer, a buck, in Northern Vermont in which Shane Philips was caught in action. According to a press release from the VDFW, Game wardens watched Shane Philips of Vermont attempt to poach the buck by using his vehicle headlights to illuminate it in the dark. After shooting the dummy buck with a crossbow, the suspect was confronted, and he fled the scene. The suspect was tracked, arrested, and confiscated both the crossbow and vehicle. Philips has been found guilty of taking big game by 5 illegal means. This poacher must pay a fine of almost $3,000, forfeit both the vehicle and crossbow, and has lost his hunting privileges for the next three years. YELLOWSTONE ELK STAMPEDE CAUSED BY WOLVES Right place, right time. In a once-in-a-lifetime sighting, a wildlife photographer in Yellowstone National Park this month captured video footage of an approximately 300-head herd of elk chased by a pack of wolves. A must-watch! The pack of about 20 wolves pursuit of the herd resulted in an elk stampede with the wolves bringing down a young cow. This video is a glimpse of nature that is rarely seen much less caught on camera. An impressive video of wildlife in action. It is a lifelong hunting sport. Whether using a .410, 20 gauge or 12 gauge shotgun; upland bird hunting fits the whole crew! NEWS ARKANSAS ALLIGATOR SEASON For many across the United States, hunting for alligators in Arkansas may not have crossed one’s mind. As it turns out, since 2007 alligator hunting has been growing as both a recreational activity as well as a way to keep the species from becoming invasive in the state. This year the alligator season spanned over two the last two weekends of September. The harvest broke previous records of tagged alligators, with 202 alligators harvested. According to Outdoor Life, the alligator Arkansas population statewide is hoovering around 3,000 animals. FATAL GRIZZLY ATTACK Last week we reported on a scary, near-death grizzly attack near Yellowstone National Park in the Custer Gallatin National Forest. We are saddened to report that another grizzly attack happened last weekend, this one resulting in two fatalities and the loss of a dog. According to Outdoor Life, Parks Canada officials were notified on September 29th at 8 p.m. by an emergency alert from a Garmin inReach device. The GSP alert came from within the Banff National Park in a remote area in the Red Deer River Valley. Immediately a first responders unit mobilized, however, weather conditions prevented a helicopter from flying in and the response team traveled on foot to the GPS coordinates, arriving at the scene of a double fatal grizzly attack at 1 a.m. The first responders found two deceased individuals and their deceased dog. Also still lurking nearby the first responders encountered a grizzly bear displaying aggressive behavior, which was euthanized on site. This is a chilling story, that no one ever wants to share. A family member of the hikers did tell CBC News that the hikers had wilderness experience, lived for being in the backcountry, and “knew the bear protocol and followed it to a tee.” The same family member also explained that the two hikers had sent them an inReach message at 5 p.m. that evening letting the family know that they had made camp for the night. Meaning that the victims were not traveling in the woods after dark or setting up camp when the grizzly bear attacked. A full investigation is underway as this now marks the second fatal grizzly attack in North America in 2023. Episode 152 Details How is your fall looking now that colors are changing, and leaves and acorns to walnuts are dropping, have you found anything unusual? Well here in the north we’ve seen something unusual. A flower typically considered the first sign of spring has been spotted by quite a few of us. That flower is the Crocus, a simple flower with velvet-like pale purple petals. For many of us, this has been a first-ever find and has us a little confused. What have you seen? NEWS PHEASANT FORECAST Upland bird hunting is a favorite sport for many of us. As we near the opener for pheasant season, it is always the question, how is the pheasant population? After a tough winter throughout the Upper Midwest, according to Oudoor News, it is being reported that pheasants survived and populated much better than expected. Especially those areas that had productive habitat, the pheasants flourished. The birds proved to be tough last winter, and the relatively dry spring after the hard winter made for ideal nesting and brood survival. With this positive news, hunters get ready for pheasants to fly and be ready for a successful upland bird hunting season. GRIZZLY BEAR ATTACK According to Outdoor Life, earlier in September while on a deer hunt, it turned quickly into a backcountry emergency when a man was mauled by a grizzly bear south of Big Sky, Montana. While helping track an archery deer down, Rudy Noorlander, 61, a Navy Veteran, was in the Custer Gallatin National forest following trails he knew very well when the man encountered two grizzlies. Noorlander first spotted the younger of the two and was drawing his side firearm when what he described as a 10 foot mega-grizzly pounced before the man could do anything. Noorlander tried to shoot the bear, however instead his gun misfired and as the grizzly was already on him had no time to play dead. Instead, with adrenaline pumping he punched the large bear in the nose. The grizzly continued to attack the man, ripping off his lower jaw and part of the trachea, scratching his chest open while biting a bicep and leg. Then the man continued fighting through it all and screaming, in which fellow members of the party heard the struggle. In fear they would hit the man while aiming for the bear, the fellow hunters threw rocks at the grizzly while calling for emergency responders. Thankfully the actions worked, Noorlander survived, however now is healing from multiple major reconstruction surgeries. For example, his fibula from one leg was used to reconstruct his jaw. A wild story of human survival, but one that needs to be shared with anyone heading into the backcountry. Hunting, hiking or seeking enjoyment; grizzly attacks have been on the rise. Know and understand what to do as well as before heading into the wilderness check with local wildlife officials of recent sightings. NEWS BEARS ENJOY KRISPY KREME DONUTS Anchorage, Alaska may be a likely place for bears to live in the surrounding wilderness, however did you know they are fans too of Krispy Kreme Donuts? Recently a mama bear aka a sow, along with her cub were caught red-handed devouring fresh tasty donuts. A Krispy Kreme delivery driver delivering baked goods, left the door to the van open only to return to find the Mama bear and her cub raiding the van! Local law enforcement was able to chase the bears away using loud sirens. HOTEL TAXES, WATCH YOUR BILL! Some hotels have been adding surprising additional ‘incidental charges’ to the hotel bill that may surprise you. Incidental Charges or sometimes called even an extra “hotel tax” or “resort fee”, are additional expenses guests may have thought were included in the hotel stay. The hotel deems these items or amenities as those that are beyond the basic room rate or standard room rate. For example, the charges could include pool use, minibar usage, parking fees, internet access as well as now we have experienced charges for daily housekeeping. Every hotel is different, but with trips to Vegas for the upcoming Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) or booking holiday travel over Thanksgiving and/or Christmas, we want all advised. The reason for the incidental charge(s) is that hotels claim to be suffering tight margins in the hospitality industry thus putting these previously absorbed costs back on the consumer. FREE FOOD SAMPLER ABUSER Many of us who have visited stores giving out free samples of some treat, may have at least once in our life or may be guilty of being an abuser of said Free Food Samples. Costco may be curbing some of that as news was released, by The Takeout, that those who are huge fans of grabbing the freebies or feel it is part of their reason for a membership may be in for a surprise if this hasn’t happened already at your local location. Costco is distributing free samples at some locations using self-serve sample kiosks, and the reason behind the change is Labor Shortage. Human product demonstrators can cost the company upwards of $15/hour and there are not a lot of people applying for the jobs. Currently, Costco kiosks in some locations are being used for samples of chips, cookies, and other pre-packaged goods. Episode 149 Details How did you wrap up summer, say goodbye, and Hello to Fall? For many, us included as trees have started to turn, and archery season opens, feel that Labor Day weekend is - The Start To Days of Fall. Tigger & BEC decided to do a “Day RoadTrip” on that Sunday of the long holiday weekend. As let's be real, on this outfit there's no such thing as a "long weekend". These crazy cats took off with the truck loaded with kayaks, and fishing gear and traveled their “own backyard” meaning, stayed within state lines. Driving around a massive lake the two know very well, came upon not one but TWO bays new to them and had vacant beaches. Instead of unloading the gear, Tigger & BEC on the LAST hot day of summer jumped in the lake, enjoying just playing and swimming while soaking up the sun. SPOTLIGHT FAN MAIL We received lots of “Fan Mail” after last week’s show when we talked about the recent backcountry expedition done by experienced outdoorsmen who had 3 pack horses tumble 80 feet and thankfully survive! We heard lots of comments, Want to give a shoutout to one listener, Scott Middleton from Alberta, CA - He shared photos of his Tennessee Walkers that they use on rougher terrain. Another listener texted in that he appreciated us sharing about transporting feed across state lines for horses (or any livestock). This individual was stopped and had feed checked for noxious weeds prior to being allowed to enter the national forest. Before heading to the backcountry including the national forests or grasslands, if you are crossing state lines it is highly recommended to contact your local veterinarians as Coggins tests, health certificates or even brand releases may be required as well as contact all states you Game and Fish departments you will be traveling through to your final destination. NEWS PADDLEBOARD FISHING Experienced Connecticut fisherman Eddie Carroll went viral in the fishing world when while fishing off his 12-foot paddleboard. What caused the excitement, off the coast of Madison in the Long Island Sound he hooked a large catch, so big that it began dragging him and the paddleboard. After fighting this monster fish for over an hour, he reeled up to the paddleboard a massive brown shark. Thinking smartly so folks would believe his “Catch Of The Day”, or catch of the year in our book… Eddie Carroll was able to turn on his phone to start recording as evidence to prove the catch. It was figured to roughly be an 8-foot Brown Shark, in which this fisherman did cut the line for the next lucky angler. ANIMALS DON’T STOP FOR PASSPORT CONTROL According to NPR - Apparently Wild or not, animals don't stop at passport control, including the reindeer that graze on the border of Norway and Russia. Forty-two crossed into Russia, and now the Norwegian government has to pay Russia for the loss of grassland - more than $4,000 per reindeer. The animals are just going where the grass takes them, I guess. So now Norway is repairing an old fence there to try to rein in their deer… like that pun.. but on a serious note… Norwegian officials, according to Fox 5 NY, state the work of building and fixing the border fence is a challenge, as the workers have to stay on the Norwegian side of the border "AT ALL TIMES" during construction, which as you can imagine is making the work extra demanding. As for example; If a worker crossed into Russian territory, without a Russian visa, that would amount to illegal entry. These reindeer have truly stirred the pot or shaken up a hornets' nest as Russia has sent two compensation claims thus far. One claim is for $ 4,700 USD per reindeer that crossed into Russia to graze in a nature reserve. In addition, the second claim is asking for a lump sum of nearly $4.4 million in total for the days the animals grazed in the nature reserve park, which consists mostly of lakes, rivers, forests, and...

Episode 148 Details Labor Day Weekend!! For some, it rings the end of Summer…One last family campout or lake weekend before winterizing everything if you live here in a true four seasons climate. For others, especially those of us into archery, it rings in the beginning of that hunting season as almost across the country as a whole; whether it be deer to the western rugged states with elk, the scouting has truly kicked off, packs are loaded and hikes to stands or blinds is on… AND FOR THOSE we wish you a SUCCESSFUL but most importantly Memorable Season! SPOTLIGHT Pack Horses Miraculously Survive 80-Foot Fall from Wilderness Trail “Alone” alumni Cade Cole and Jordan Jonas had a seriously close call when three of their packhorses tumbled off the trail and into the steep timber According to Outdoor Life, Seasoned outdoorsmen, Cade Cole & Jordan Jonas with horse-packing experience were on their way to meet a group of clients for a survival course at the time of the accident. (Jonas, who won Season 6 of “Alone,” hosts survival and backcountry skills courses.) The horses were loaded down with cookware, camping gear, and other equipment. The area they were riding to was so remote, that the clients were flown in on a bush plane while the guides made the 32-mile trek in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness on the Montana-Idaho border. And like many of us with horses, they are like members of one's family. Luckily at the time of the horses' horrific fall, neither rider was atop their mounts. One of the horses acted up crossing a steep area, with a washout on a trail causing all three horses tied to one another to tumble. The men were able to with the use of rope lines climb down to the horses and quickly using their survival skills make ties and pulleys to secure two of the horses caught, rolling the horses back onto their feet to slide down to get their footing. Miraculously none of the horses were hurt. But this is a GREAT reminder for all who have dreamt of exploring the backcountry. The importance of staying calm in a stressful situation, not just for one's own safety but to keep the animals calm as well. Think clearly. We are happy this pair and their mounts survived however watching the video is extreme. Episode 147 Details Tigger and BEC were able to slip away on a vacation! Yes, get off the ranch. They were Lake Michigan bound on the Wisconsin coastline. While their Tigger was able to for the first time partake in Lake Michigan salmon fishing, something that BEC has enjoyed many times over the years and was happy for Tigger to have the chance to try. Great family fun, he was joined by nephews and learned quickly how fishing with down riggers is a whole new ball game. SPOTLIGHT: 4-H Taylor Downing from Fairfield North Dakota shares how 4-H has been an integral part of her life. During not just elementary and high school, but also thru her college years. She shares how livestock showing taught skills that will continue through life as well as friendships made too. '4-H: Providing Youth Development, Mentorship & Education.' Both BEC & Tigger are advocates of 4-H as both were active in youth. For the third year in a row, the couple emceed and were master of ceremonies for the North Dakota 4-H Public Leaders Livestock Competition this summer. Episode 146 Details Unsuccessful big game hunting lottery draws again for us, Tigger & BEC. As luck would have it for the second year in a row, neither of us will be Antelope hunting in 2023. Just scouting and hunting with the camera. Big Game Hunting is about to get underway. Depending on your state. For example, if in the eastern part of the country where whitetail may be more plentiful such as Missouri. Units, tags, there may be no reason to apply and just buy over the counter. However big game the further west you travel, often the more tricky it becomes. Every state regardless of its Big Game population varies on regulations and these change from year to year. A lottery just to simplify further is as it sounds. Say for example in a particular unit there are 100 resident bull elk tags offered and a thousand resident hunters apply. The success of drawing a tag is 10 percent. Some states in an attempt to even up the lottery may offer “Bonus Points” or “Preference Points”. Now our explanation is just a general explanation. Again EVERY STATE IS DIFFERENT so this is just an attempt to simplify understanding the basics. If you were unsuccessful in winning a lottery tag then next year at application time you would get your name entered in with your current application and then again as many times as you’ve earned “Points” for past attempts at winning at tag. This can be done for a multitude of species and for both residents and non-residents. Again, all rules, laws, and regulations are dependent upon the state. Fishing & Hunting News In other fishing and hunting news, here is what you missed: Fishing Tournament Cheating Scandals One sure would have thought lessons were learned after last year's infamous Ohio Lake Erie Walleye Trail Tournament scandal last September. That ignorant decision of filling their caught walleye with lead weights resulted in the two men pleading guilty to felony charges of cheating and a misdemeanor count of illegal animal ownership after they were found to have used weights to make their walleye catches appear heavier. Both men were sentenced to 10 days in jail, fined $2,500 each, had fishing licenses suspended for 3 years, and had to forfeit the boat used in the tournament valued at $130,000. We are sad to say, lessons in cheating have not been learned. According to Outdoorlife.com, during the last weekend in July, a competitor in the Bart’s Cove Walleye Duel held on Lake Erie, was caught messing with walleye catch weights. This time found to have stuffed the walleyes for weigh-in with more walleye. YES, you that’s what you read. On the line this time around was an all-inclusive fishing trip to Panama valued at $14,500. Small price to pay in our book, for the individual whose name we are leaving out at this time as the man is claiming "not guilty" has now been a headline across the outdoors world. At the weigh-in when the judge cut open two of the fish, the walleye were filled with smaller fish that had holes in their lips. Now we all know that fish eat fish, however, what really made it suddenly suspicious that this was another Cheater Scandal, was finding a 12” walleye that had 3” of its tail cut off before being stuffed down one of the walleye weighed. On top of that, the smaller fish inside of both walleye were not in any type of "digestive state". The investigation is now in the hands of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and The Bend Show will be paying close attention to not just how this story ends but also how tournaments across the nation will adjust their rules and regulations moving forward. HEAT CHECK We’re all tired of talking about the excessive heat, but after an accident of a different kind and how technology is continuing to control our lives. Felt this here story was one that EVERYONE needs to be aware of… An Arizona man was recently trapped inside his Tesla after a HOT 110-degree Arizona day caused the car’s battery to MELT. Yes, Melt. The Peoria, Arizona man was then trapped in the car which quickly became an Oven as the internal temperature rose quickly. Since the battery was melted, the car’s doors would not open, windows could not be rolled down, and had to now to access the dead computer that runs the car. He was trapped for 20 minutes until his sister whom he called was able to save him by using the Tesla app to prompt the car to open the passenger door. ABC 15 Investigators dug into this a bit more, turns on the Tesla Owners Manual there is outlined a manual exit option on the Tesla in case a battery failure occurs. Bunny Take Over The New York Post has reported that Wilton Manors, Florida is being overrun by Lionhead Rabbits. A bunny breeder in Fort Lauderdale illegally let loose the rabbits before they started multiplying on the street. Hundreds of rabbits are now living in the backyards of homes in Wilton Manors. The bunnies have a shaggy mane and resemble lions. Some families are feeding the rabbits while others consider them a nuisance as the bunnies are digging holes in the nice lawns.
