US OPEN REVIEW

6/16/2025
This episode has been a US Open-style challenge. And we have shot somewhere in the mid-70s, only hoping to make up some ground on the field in episodes to come. Iain is in Oakmont, Eddie drops in briefly from France (at which point Laurie Canter also gives us his thoughts on his first US Open) and Andrew joins from semi-consciousness at about 2 in the morning. Iain and Andrew give the full review of JJ Spaun's remarkable victory, Bob McIntrye's near miss and they all chat about Rory and what lies ahead for him this year. The Clumsy, The Spineless and the Alibi-Artist.

6/9/2025
We'll let you decide which is which... The US Open is here and before Iain heads to Oakmont he joins Andrew and Eddie to pick over the bones of last weekend's golf, with Ryan Fox winning in Canada, Connor Syme getting his first DP World Tour win in The Netherlands and Graeme McDowell collecting comfortably the biggest prize cheque of his career. They also manage to wander through the formative history of Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania, chat about the worrying dip in form for Rory McIlroy and pick their favourites for the third men's major of the season. As Good as Tiger?

6/2/2025
A clickbait title for you on another long episode, which we might stop apologising for - there’s no obligation to listen to all of it. In fact it’s simply a necessary length to cover Maja Stark’s debut major win at the US Women’s Open, while also asking if the consistency of excellence from Scottie Scheffler means that he might have a Tiger-like career. This and much more full-on golf chat is the meat in the middle of a rambling sandwich where we also touch upon Andrew’s TV quiz behaviour, Iain’s squirrel vaseline and Eddie’s inability to perform a basic bodily function. Eddie's 10kg Weight Gain

5/26/2025
In a disturbingly long episode, Eddie tells us about his new training and practise regime, while Iain and Andrew assess the performance of Ernie Els and Retief Goosen in the Oval Office. They also reflect on last week's tournaments and look ahead to the US Women's Open at Erin Hills before considering the British talent on show in the NCAAs. The pod then finishes in dramatic style as Iain tells a story about hitting a bunker shot. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Scottie and Skye

5/19/2025
An episode reflecting on a third major title for Scottie Scheffler and one which was many hours in the making do to overwhelming technical incompetence. Andrew and Iain kick things off from either side of the Atlantic as they look at Scheffler's composure under pressure to win the US PGA, as well as remarking upon the contrast between the eloquence of Jon Rahm in describing his near-miss and the refusal of Rory McIlroy to speak to the media after his frustrating week. Eddie then joins and an hour later after after an hour of recording some podcast gold, they start again as our wandering Tour pro realises that he hasn't pressed record. At the second time of asking they explain why an illegal driver is not nearly as dramatic as the internet has suggested, wonder what has happened to Brooks Kopek, heap more praise on Mimi Rhodes and ask Eddie when we can expect to see him back on the golf course. You're Better Than This

5/12/2025
It's USPGA week and the greatest players in the game are gatheringfor the second men's major of the season. But while our trio do use this episode to look ahead to events at Quail Hollow, and also muse upon the ongoing good form of Sepp Straka and Shane Lowry, they are initially far more occupied discussing Eddie's course walk-off in Turkey. Andrew and Iain try to offer psychological support, despite dealing with their own golfing defeats (Iain) and humiliation (Andrew). Scottie Scheffler and The Black Death

5/5/2025
The TCF trio bring tales from their travels this week while Eddie also does some light photocopying in the business centre of a Turkish hotel. Top of the agenda are Iain and Eddie's trips to the the north of Scotland and Portugal respectively, with Eddie announcing his unique method of preparation for a return to the DP World Tour. Next on the agenda is Scottie Scheffler's record-equalling victory in Texas, while Andrew muses on the short but glorious career of Byron Nelson, tells us which great golfer can thank spark plugs for a lack of pressure and wonders how history might have been different but for some fleas on rats in the 14th century. www.petermillar.co.uk https://biggolfrace.prostatecanceruk.org Instagram: @chippingforecast Email: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. Saigo and Stag-dos

4/28/2025
If one of our correspondents is correct in saying that we didn't break 80 with our last episode, then it is very possible we shoot in the low-90s with this one. Iain is absent and Andrew and Eddie drift, rudderless, across the golfing oceans although they do make attempts to discuss the dramatic finish to the first women's major of the season, a first win for Marco Penge and his impressive thighs on the DP World Tour and also wonder if paying good golf on your own is actually good golf at all. Reasons to be Cheerful

4/21/2025
After the excitement of the Masters, this week's Chipping Forecast deals with the excitement of jet-washing a patio and humane methods of dealing with ants. Beyond that the trio discuss Justin Thomas and Ashun Wu returning to the winner's circle, serving as inspiration for Eddie. And our resident tour player talks with some positivity about his own golf and looks forward to a game on Thursday where he will, for once, be the happiest person in his group. The Master's Voice.

4/14/2025
Our full Chipping Forecast review of the Masters where Eddie joins for the first time in a week to give us his thoughts on what was the greatest golfing day in recent memory. We go through the highs and lows of that final round again and analyse where it was won and lost, with more than a tip of the Peter Millar cap to Justin Rose who has been rather lost in the Rory story. Iain joins in midway through after his two hours of sleep and before another full day of broadcasting duties, to talk about a win which has captured the imagination far beyond the world of hardcore golf fans and the trio wonder what McIlroy might now go on to achieve... RORY McILROY WINS THE MASTERS

4/14/2025
So, it happened. In a quite dramatic fashion. Our normal pod will drop later today, but here is our final mini-pod/chipolata of the 2025 Masters, as Rory McIlroy banishes the demons to take the green jacket and complete the career grand slam. Iain is drinking wine during this recording. That's how dramatic it was. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The Masters - McIlroy v DeChambeau II

4/12/2025
An unscheduled and slightly scrawny chipolata, but one which was necessary because of the situation at The Masters with an outstanding Saturday setting up what could be one of the great duels in major golf. Very tired and slightly incoherent, Andrew and Iain give their thoughts on what they saw on Saturday and what they hope or expect to unfold on Sunday at Augusta National. Hosted on Acast. BONUS - Halfway at The Masters.

4/11/2025
Our Masters halfway point episode and there is more than a healthy dose of interest in the leaderboard as Justin Rose is still out in front with Bryson Dechambeau a shot further back, with Rory McIlroy, Tyrrell Hatton, Shane Lowry and Scottie Scheffler close at hand. Mmmm.... Nice. Andrew and Iain discuss it all and wonder about the weekend to come. Eddie was going to join to share his thoughts but he sent himself to bed in disgrace in the UAE instead, where - after his two shot penalty for missing his tee-time - he missed the cut by one. MASTERS FIRST ROUND RECAP - The Rosie show(sie)

4/10/2025
An intriguing first round of the Masters is done. Dusted. Andrew and Iain convene on opposite sides of the Atlantic to discuss it all, with Justin Rose finding himself in a very familiar position of leading at Augusta. But with Scottie Scheffler tied for second alongside Ludvig Åberg, the defending champion looms large in his bid to make it three wins win four years. And what in Heavens to Betsy happened to Rory? Cruising along and seemingly in control, two double-bogeys in the last four holes have made his task a whole lot more difficult. Meanwhile we are keeping a close eye on Eddie's adventures out in the Middle-East and, as the clickbait headlines go, 'You won't BELIEVE what happened to this player in his first round!!!' Or perhaps you will... www.petermillar.co.uk biggolfrace.prostatecanceruk.org Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

BONUS - WEDNESDAY AT THE MASTERS

4/9/2025
Our final big preview episode for the 2025 Masters in which Andrew and Iain persuade Eddie to join them from the United Arab Emirates, so that they can all share their relatively informed thoughts on what might happen over the next four days at Augusta National. Iain is invited round to Laurie Canter's very nice house to sit down and have a chat ahead of a Masters debut for Eddie's best man. We also hear from a very relaxed Rory McIlroy as he once again takes most of the attention in the build-up to what might or might not be the final leg of a Grand Slam. There is still time for a discussion on some deeply unimpressive viewing figures for LIV at the weekend, and for the Eddie die-hards there is also something of a preview of his latest tournament, where our intrepid Tour player seems most concerned that he can't find any butter or sugar in his accommodation for the week. biggolfrace.prostatecanceruk.org www.petermillar.co.uk Hosted on Acast. MASTERS WEEK BEGINS

4/7/2025
Possibly our longest pod yet, but we're simply not going to apologise, since the long months of waiting are finally over and it’s MASTERS WEEK. Iain has arrived on the ground in Augusta, while Andrew and Eddie tell themselves that it's just as much fun preparing the different sporting challenges that await in Putney and The United Arab Emirates. As well as a preview of things yet to come in Georgia, we take a look at events from the weekend on the various tours (although we lost our way and forgot to mention Madelene Sagström's matchplay win over Lauren Coughlin in Las Vegas). We do, though, talk about ANWA and also fondly remember one of Britain’s greatest amateur golfers. Breaking Belarus.

3/31/2025
A momentous episode as The Chipping Forecast announces its new partnership with Peter Millar. Our trio celebrate by wondering if it would be possible for Andrew to break 100 at DLF and by further considering whether Eddie should be Prime Minister to improve Trans-Atlantic trade. They then discuss the win for Min Woo Lee in Houston, plus the good form of Scheffler and McIlroy and the fact that Laurie Canter is heading to The Masters. They also ponder the nature of friendship and bemoan the fact that Peter Millar is unlikely to see an uplift in sales in either Belarus or Slovenia. The Pursuit of Happiness

3/24/2025
On this week's episode, Andrew and Iain feel it is their duty to point out to Eddie that he is actually very good at golf, despite what he might think, and they discuss Viktor Hovland's win on the PGA Tour as a prime example of form never being too far away. However, after a missed cut Eddie has headed off to Goa - as you do - to put on sandals and contemplate the meaning of life, the universe and everything while enjoying the omelette bar at a five-star beach resort. Will he ever return? Tune in to find out. (The answer is yes, he misses the dogs too much). Visit biggolfrace.prostatecanceruk.org Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

McIlroy WINS. Garcia pockets 50 MILLION!!!

3/17/2025
An extra-long episode which could certainly have been shorter, but how else would our intrepid trio manage to talk about everything that's going on? We hear from Rory McIlroy after he wins the Players Championship in a Monday play-off with JJ (JM) Spaun. Eddie has troubling tales of pencil misuse in India, despite Jen claiming another top-ten. We try to answer the question - do caddies make a difference? and Andrew tries to set-up a game of golf with Eddie. Only for Eddie to deny him, by saying that he doesn't owe anybody in the media anything. BONUS POD - Players Preview and assorted miscellany

3/12/2025
As promised, a bonus pod to look ahead to the Players Championship with Andrew, Iain and a guest appearance from Players debutant Laurie Canter with his new cufflinks. It was supposed to be just 20 minutes or so, but they somehow manage to stretch it out from chipolata into full blown hot dog. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
