He Never Knew Love

10/5/2024
You feeling this episode? Send us a text! In this episode we break down the men's version of love. I've talked to a lot of men about love and their first time they notice that they loved someone. Our first love could start as early as pre-k or as late as adulthood. This doesn't mean the more intimate love we all talk about but love in general. When was the first time you knew love? Send us your answer. Support the show

From Scratch

You feeling this episode? Send us a text! People talk about love like learning a new vocab word and saying it excessively. That doesn't mean you know how to use it properly. Often times we think we're "in love" but you never truly love someone until you "choose to love them". Marriage isn't always the good times. That what the vows prepared you for. Do you really love your spouse? Did you have to grow to love them? Let's get into this episode. Support the show

Things We Never Got Over

8/24/2024
You feeling this episode? Send us a text! Too many people are walking around with things they never let go of and they're bounded by the pain. Communication gets lost in translation. We tend to punish the future dragging the past behind us. We never go to therapy for it but we punish future partners and our children for our hurt. Others can see and so can we. Sometimes people choose not to get over it because they feel they can control the narrative. Baby, get over that shit! Go to therapy! Harboring pain for years makes your body pay for things you never let go of. Stress can form tumors that can be malignant and why should our body suffer for things we left unsaid or things we never communicated. Say what or who hurt you. Tell them how it made you feel. Talk it out. Listen to understand instead of trying to get your point across. Stop bottling up everything as a mechanism to cope. Stop shutting down when you hear what isn't palatable to you. You have free range to identify the problem, come up with how to communicate the problem, then say it with your chest without remorse. By all means SPEAK THE HELL UP! Get some help! Take your ass to therapy! Support the Show.

Unbreak My Heart

8/17/2024
You feeling this episode? Send us a text! There are seven stages of grief and we all go through it at different rates. Some of us take a lifetime to fill the void that that person was. Sometimes grief hits you in an instance. Anything will make you reminisce and cry. Sometimes during the process things go unsaid. People don't get told off. Sometimes we off the whole world just for a quarter of peace. It doesn't matter who you lost, just remember that grief has no time limit. It's okay to keep going but you can't skip the process. Take all the time you need but don't pause in time stuck on death. Grieve and grow. Cry and walk the mile. Make peace but don't ever let someone walk all over you. Stand up for yourself in the worst part of the process. Be kind to those going through the process because grief has no address. It will overstay its welcome. Get counseled. It's a must! Reach out to a grief counselor near you and say, "It's time I learn to let go!" You're not letting them go because they live in you but you're letting go of all the negative an unsaid words you've hidden since. Please go to therapy. Support the Show.

What It Taste Like

8/10/2024
You feeling this episode? Send us a text! The truth is always a hard pill to swallow. Often times we stay running from it. Some of us hide it because we have a lot to lose. The truth will come out and you can't always take it to your grave. Deal with it. Take your ass to therapy if you must! Take the truth in, learn from it, don't repeat it, don't fight it, and move on from it. I can tell you right now someone is hiding something from you. Right now you are hiding something from yourself. The truth will always find its way out. Be ready! Let's get into it. Tune in. Support the Show.

F*ck a Hashtag

8/3/2024
You feeling this episode? Send us a text! Nothing has changed in the hunt to gun down innocent African Americans. I'm not going to put another hashtag to a person's name as if it solidifies that that was all they were. There was much life lived before they were murdered and it's about time we started talking about that. There needs to be reform and consequences for individuals whose actions are spiraling or too tense for working in public service. The goal is to protect and serve not kill on demand. We are not tallies on a board or target practice. Let's get into this episode. Support the Show.

Poetry In The Black

7/27/2024
You feeling this episode? Send us a text! Over the years there have been many well known black poets. In the arts, we've had to fight to have our say. Fight to have our books published. Emancipated Flower

5/4/2024
You feeling this episode? Send us a text! In this episode, we delve into foster care kids who are aging out or have aged out already. Most foster care kids don't have a village to fall back on when they age out the system. Most of them don't even have the basic necessities to be on their own so a percentage of them end up homeless or fighting to survive. Articles pit them as invisible but I see you and have saw you the whole time. If you ever need an ear or direction. inbox us at connect@thecscafe.org. Support the Show.
