It is a controversial subject that will surely gain more traction as we collectively mature as psychedelic practitioners and explorers.

What do YOU think? Would you trust a trainer that never worked out? What about a celibate sex therapist? Yet somehow this is a touchy topic in the developing world of psychedelic wellness. There is nuance for sure but why is it that so many psychedelic practitioners push back when we suggest that they too would benefit from taking the sacred medicines they prescribe, particularly when we know psilocybin benefits healthy normals (as if that's really a thing) or someone who is struggling with depression or some other mental health challenge. How many closets can someone come out of? Brian Buford left the seminary because it couldn't accept him for who he was as a gay man. He came to sacred mushrooms and was able to accept himself as he is more than ever. His incredible story is sure to inspire. Brian is the Executive Director for University Culture and Employee Success at the University of Louisville, Kentucky. With 35 years of service to the university, Brian has dedicated his career to building a campus community where all students, faculty, and staff feel welcome, safe, and included. Key achievements under his leadership include opening a staffed LGBT Center in 2007, the first of its kind in Kentucky; earning a five-star rating on the Campus Pride index six years in a row; and leading the effort to being named the most LGBT-welcoming campus in the United States by LGBT Outfitters. In 2020, he launched the Employee Success Center, dedicated to making the university a great place to work by offering opportunities for personal and professional growth to faculty and staff.
